  • The final section from my collection of John Ramsay 8mm movie collection of Glasgow trams focuses first on the terminus of Route 9 at Dalmuir. Then there's return footage along Dumbarton Road, before heading south over the Clyde to Pollokshields, for some trams in and around the depot. An enthusiast's overloaded special trip is also covered. Footage of the final day public tram procession in early September 1962 follows. Then, one year on, a tram is seen being removed from the depot for scrappage. Finally about 1966, on a happier note, some restoration of trams is seen taking place at the depot.

My Grandfather drove one of the trams in the last day procession. Some of the trams have thankfully been preserved and you can see them in the Glasgow Museum of Transport.
