We recently had to place my mother in law into a memory care facility. We live in another state and giving up our life to be near her to oversee her care. I want to personally thank you for all the education I have received watching your videos. You are an angel on earth! Thank you for your hard work and passion to educate those of us who are swimming upstream most of the time.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and finally just ordered your book. My mother is seeing a neurologist and is at the beginning of Alzheimer’s but we are having a PET scan next week to make sure to get a solid diagnosis. Not looking forward to this journey because it’s scary. I love my mom to death and I already do most things for and with her. I just try to keep her laughing and interested in life. My brothers and I all have a great relationship and have all committed to doing whatever is best for mom. I have already raised a severely mentally ill child who also has high functioning autism, so I have already learned many helpful skills, like distraction, making them feel needed, dealing with intense emotions, etc. But I also suffer from PTSD from raising him due to how intense and extreme his behaviors were. Mom doesn’t have behaviors so far, just a lot of language problems and forgetfulness, especially short term memory issues and losing previously learned skills, and some anxiety. I’m thankful I found you on YT and looking forward to reading your book. Thank you for being there for us the caregivers. ❤

My husband and I are the caregivers for my 91 year old mother. In retrospect, we're pretty sure her dementia started several years ago although she's very good at masking and her doctor never even considered it until we brought it to his attention. She doesn't seem to fit into any of the diseases you listed. Is there a general "old age" dementia?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time. It has helped to keep me going with more understanding.

Do you have a video on “taking over the financials” and other documents. I’m faced with doing this now behind my husband’s back and I’m feeling very guilty, especially since he’s still lucid at times.

I have this issue as well. I solved it by volunteering to put everything on Quicken to organize us. He’s not great learning new things or using a computer, so he let it go. Now he’s comfortable with me dealing with financial advisor and accounting.

I have a question? The doctors say my husband has alzeimers. But he doesn't ask questions over and over. Like most people with the desease..he can't follow directions well and have much conversations. Doesn't answer questions except to answer what he's looking at and changing the subject. I direct what he needs to do.does that sound like alzheimer's..?

Yes ot does. My mom never did the repetitive questions either....not everyone gets every symptom. Some don't get mean, some don't have sundowning....
