We are here to explore Off-Roading, 4WD, Overlanding, camping, etc. together. I have worked on cars my whole life and have built many cars for drag racing, so I want to see how my knowledge crosses over into this fairly new world to me. Auto Body paint and dent repair, mechanics, and engine building was what I did for many years. I am here to learn and grow as I modify my 4Runner to make it capable to do all of this and still remain a Daily Driver. I'll also put out some How-to and DIY home and car projects along the way. Let's go...

What about wiring switch back lights
Send me a link to which ones
So if I have pre made harnesses can I just take out the positive and negative wires from it to use for the lights?
In most cases, yes! Please see some of my other videos that show how to do this in detail. (Ditch light install, lightbar install, and how to wire a 2 mode light)
Great video. Will this work with the 6 terminal switch panel?
Depends on which one you have. If the Auxbeam or similar with built in relays, then yes
Do you know if the chain can be fully removed/replaced?
If you're talking about just unclipping it, I'm not sure. But you can definitely remove it even if you have to use an angle grinder to cut through 1 link
@AZOverland2017 ah okay, I ask because mine doesn't have the chain or carrier but has the mechanism to pull the tire up. So I was wondering if I got a chain and carrier if I could install it but wasnt sure if the chain hooks on to something that it could be pulled off from
This video makes me want to pack up and go camping right now! The Kofa area is so underrated, and you captured its beauty perfectly. I’ll be checking it out next time I’m in Arizona!"
There is still so much to explore here. Glad you liked the video!
I have a 2019 Toyota 4runner TRDpro. Can I use this metal oil filter?
Yes, all 5th Gens use the same filter housing. Be sure to change the inner tube, etc.
The bare minimum to protect your body when spraying 2ks is gloves, body suit and full face mask. You have to, have to talk about it and do it if you're giving people advice on how to paint at home. Just like you don't skimp on wax and grease remover, you should never skimp out on your health. Also did you put some string/rope underneath the door and window seals?
You are 100% correct. I wish I had put that information in the video originally. I did provide that information in the Pinned comment at the top of the comment section. Not ideal, but I tried to make up for the information I lacked in the video. Thanks for your input!
@@AZOverland2017 i get it. it sucks to film with all of it. But we have a bunch of viewers not knowing what isocyanates are and how incredibly toxic and carcinogenic it is. It's bad to breathe and just as bad to soak into your skin. Amateurs and pros alike on youtube aren't properly geared up and so newcomers who have no clue that they need to worry about anything until they buy the products and see the health labels, if that.
This seems like the perfect off-road adventure for a family outing. So much fun, and the scenery is beautiful! 👍

Your video is very good. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
I already left a comment on part 1, but incredible conclusion! I'm been staring at the rust taking over the once white hood on 95' for 5 years. past owners did not take care of it. Yours has the cool bolts heads that show on the front bumper. if I were to buy a cheap enclosed tent how many hours do you estimate, roughly? And cost? I'm guessing a week of long days and 1500 for material
Thank you. It's difficult to say as sometimes you get into it and you keep finding things you want to make perfect. But I would say, you're pretty close in your estimate of time and money
@@AZOverland2017 Cheers! thanks
Nice! I have the same white color model. I don't have a garage so hoping a cheap enclosed tent will do the trick. do you have the 3vze by chance? If I remove #2 plug wire there is no change in idle. Is this possibly normal for the engine at idle? need someone to confirm. mechanics won't even look at it being ob1.
I do have the 3VZE. I haven't removed a plug wire at idle as mine runs very smoothly. But, there should be a noticeable difference in idle quality if done
@@AZOverland2017 Thanks for reply. That's what I thought. Mechanics around here are clueless and plant misinformation in my thinking that I'm now trying to unlearn.
Do you have any suggestions if the door latch seems broken and the inside and outside door latch are not working and I have to remove the door pail with the door closed?
@@DavidBeatypersonal Remove the handle trim piece from the interior. You know, that piece that popped off towards the end of the video? With that off, start looking for the rod that is connected to the actual handle. If you pull or push that rod, it should open the door
Excellent video. This is how how to videos should be made and explained. No unnecessary information, precise and clear. Easy to understand. Even a novice like me can understand and follow. Really good. Thanks😊
Thank you very much for your feedback!
Thanks for the upload. I was thinking about hooking up a heated seat to the auxbeam, then realized the seats have a high and low setting. I should still be able to do that, I just have to use one button for high and one button for low. Is that correct? Would I run into any problems if both buttons (high and low) were simultaneously pressed?
That is a good question. With my lights, I can run both modes, but I can't answer that for sure with your seats. You may have to ask the manufacturer that question. What is the power draw for heated seats?
@AZOverland2017 Thanks for the reply. I haven't yet bought the seats (Corbeau), but I've found the heater control is fused for 10 amps.
Had these for a little under 6 years and honestly they're fantastic compared to OEM. Last longer, less dust and better braking.
Great to hear! I also had a good experience with them on my Hellcat
great install video! best video I've seen on this process; looking forward to doing my own lift in a few weeks.
I appreciate it! Good luck with the install
Why couldnt you flip the bar over and put the harness on the drivers side?
Excellent question. I'm not completely sure, but i believe with the way the LEDs are installed in the bar (sort of curved), mounting it with the driving light on top may affect the way the lights are supposed to project. I would reach out to Nilight to confirm
I may even be able to do this without opposable thumbs after watching this. I'll ask my dad to get you some new gloves....😁
The glove saga...
Nice vid! Taco next? I won't drop any jokes about your lube.....
That was a great breakdown handling brake on your own. I may actually try and tackle that myself.
Go for it. Let me know if you have any questions along the way
Thanks. I feel a little better about tackling this myself in the future.
That's my goal when making these videos!
Dont use a rotary you will fuck your paint i been detailing cars for 10 years new DA polishers can do just as good as a rotary and 1000% safer....just use a duel action polisher something with a longer throw patern with a good compound you can get the same results..i would recommend going to a detail shop and asking some questions you will need a compound pad for compound and a polish pad for polish...also dont just compound and skip polish it will look good for a day and get foggy and dull you must polish after and id recommend a hand wax
@@moneygettingmovement7901 Thanks. I've painted and used a rotary polisher on hundreds of cars since the late 80s. I do agree that you can mess up your paint if you do not have experience using one. There is a distinct difference in the way you treat new paint vs detailing an already painted vehicle. You would never use wax after a new paint job. I would only consider using wax after at least a month cure time, depending on climate. I do appreciate your comment and you do have some valid input
are you doing and exhaust vent on ceiling going trough adic than out the roof.
It's just the fan at the base of the garage door pulling through the filters I have 2 wall vents of an exterior wall it will pull air from. Unfortunately I have a tile roof so not easy to cut to install venting like a shingle roof
@@AZOverland2017 great job i seen when you painted you higlander you had the plastic bearly on there now its seems like better system. i wish for you that you had a big garage . i personally just built one by my self i can see if i wanted to do a booth would be easier. but i see you making it work as is for you so cuddos.
@victornaja7927 Thanks. It is a decent size 2 car garage but I definitely need a real shop. I have a car lift in my 1 car garage that's separate, but I still need more room!
good job. hey where did you get the insulation on you garage door. can you send me a link please.
@@victornaja7927 You can get it at HD or Lowe's. 4x8 sheets of Polystyrene foam board 1/2" or 3/4" work well. Cut it for each opening about 1/2" short of the opening and carefully bend it in to press fit. It cuts best with a hot knife but you can use a new blade on a utility knife, it just makes a mess that way
@@AZOverland2017 only one thing my garage doors are 12 wide by 10 tall and they are roll up drums. i bought door none insulated because they wanted 1500 each to be insulated.. too much. will yours 4x8 sheets work you think any recommendations. thank you

Would this work with the 6 mode lights from auxbeam? Or just the 2 modes. Great video and simple.
Thank you. I haven't tried this with a 6 mode. Most have said they can't get it to work. 1 commenter said he did get it to work by using 1 button to power the light ON and the 2nd button to "scroll" through the modes. I suspect it would have to do with the manufacturer of the light as to if this will work or not.

@@christopherderycke3603 Perfect!
Have painted cars in my single car garage with a similar set up to yours. I used a bunch of box filters at the bottom of my garage door and sealed with duct tape. Used a squirrel cage fan at the opposite end to pull air through those filters and create a cross draft of clean filtered air. I ducted the exhaust up about 6’ of stove pipe to help mitigate odors from neighbors (rather than blowing out towards street). I ran 100’ of plastic airline coiled in a 5 gal bucket filled w/ ice &water and then to a water trap to eliminate any dreaded water drip at my gun. Lastly, this helps tremendously, wet the floor w/ a garden hose before painting. Really helps w/ knocking down dust! Great vid by the way!
