You hit on many of the triggers that I have. I'm an evening drinker never during the day. My alone, down time, I find myself remembering the past, wanting to relive much happier times, experience those happy feelings I once knew. Some of the happiest times of my life involved Alcohol. I put off stopping drinking because I fear a sober future. It seems I won't be able cope without a drink. I've came to the point as you said here that I can not get anything done. I'm either to intoxicated or to sick to do what needs doing. I must stop and I feel blessed to have found your videos. I congratulate you on your sobriety. Stopping drinking is war between yourself and your addiction. The mind wants to drink and your heart wants to stop. It is war. You have given me hope! Thank you.

I really appreciate your content. I watched a lot o your videos. I'm so sorry you were/are so ill. This is helping me stay sober. I got liver disease too not as severe but it's still bad. It really is scary and painful. I'm angry some people stopped talking to you. You're worth so much more then that. I'm lonely too no more drinking friends and people get scared away rom my illness too but all I want is to text or to visit. I'm getting less and less.

The things "we" do? Hey man, it starts with taking responsibility, all "I" do when I drink is watch porn and fall asleep...heck I'd be doing that anyways. I've never driven while drunk, I've never harmed anyone, I've never neglected my non existent wife and kids. Worse I can say is I've been a bit rude to people, but that's the day after drinking 😄 Think I blacked out 1 or 2 times in my life at home, and immediately cut back. Can't imagine how people get black out wasted and ever drink that much again, let alone doing it in a not safe place.

Tomorrow is my pay day, and 2 days after is another pay day. So the temptation will be there. I will be contacting my AA sponsor. Its only early sober days for me but i have to be honest and seek guidance.

Hello. Wish you all the beest in your future, free of alcohol. I only got drunk (to the point of blacking out) twice. I decided then that I only have a glass of wine or something and no more. I kept that decision for many years now (since 2008). Since I had to start taking some medication early this year, I completely say no to alcohol now. I'm very very happy that you're sorted out now. Alcohol free. Very proud of you. Keep up the good fight.

It keeps me up at night thinking what would have happened if you had drunk that weekend. You would have lost everything, sobriety, family and maybe even your life.

Thank god you remained strong. I am starting to see what you mean when you say ‘keep your sobriety guard up at all time’. Just like when you found that bottle in the crawl space, unexpected temptations will pop up out of the blue from time to time.

Will you go back now the reservation allows booze 🥃?

it’s a shame that alcohol is accepted and actually celebrated in our society. bottom line is it’s poison. I’m sorry that you had to face that temptation that you weren’t expecting, but you did it and you came back safe and sober. You adjusted your plans and continued on your vacation and had a good time with your family and the devil did not win💕 I’m proud of you!!

My eyes welled up when you described the fireball shooters. I cleaned out my cousins apartment, there was entire trash bags of just empty fireballs.. this was the week after police found him dead next to his bed, he was only 40.

I'm just shy of a month sober from fourth attempt at detox and sobriety. Round the clock drinker. Only thing I have to add to your routine is my body would start to go into withdrawal if there was a two hour gap between drinks. So, at my worst would drink myelf to sleep, catch two to three hours best case of horrid restless sleep, wake up vomit at 3:00 AM, pound a half dozen standard drinks to get back to sleep (usually a valium to cap it off) smoke a bunch of cigarettes, pass out, wake at 5:00 AM vomit mostly bile (as I'd only ever have food in the evening if at all) three sets or until there was nothing but dry wretching going on. Make myself an Irish coffee and my partner a normal espresso. She'd hit the road for work at 6:30 and I'd get loaded all day until she got home. Sling some green, at the pub or from home and busk/gig the local pubs and clubs. Rinse and repeat. I could feel every organ labouring. Was pissing out of evey orifice. Anxiety went through the roof everytime I wasn't baseline lubed up. My LFT was 2700! (Normal functioning liver is ideally around 60-70). In the last three years I've been to professional detox 3 tines and this most recent time from home. I lasted 3 months dry first time round, then close to five, then close to six the time before this. This time I've been clean a month come Sunday. I feel you man. I've kicked heroine, speed, benzos etc. Booze is the hardest of the lot all told. The most positive thing about suffering through kicking habitual drinking is how quickly you see the results, the reward for the pain, in health both mental and physical and the strain it takes off those who love you and have had to watch the snail paced suicide (and that being just those facets you can't hide from them). It's mind boggling when you consider how much a part of regular life it is. Imagine if society treated smack in the same way, with the same legality, accessibility, and acceptance as alcohol! It's unthinkable. But booze is far from a soft drug. It's a liquid nerve toxin made from microbial waste products and it's cheap and readily available on every other corner and you can barely watch TV or surf the net without it popping up in your field of vision multiple tines on the daily. It's a slog, no joke. Best of luck sticking to whatever gets you over it people xMx
