I stop drinking 2 years ago and I have been on a strict diet eating vegetables and reducing my carb intake. As a result I have lost 13 pounds down from 223 to around 210 I have even dropped a waist size from 38 to 36 but I still have a beer belly

This is such a wonderful clarification of the difference between beer belly fat and ascites! I found myself feeling paranoid early on because I would get bloated, and even as I was losing weight, the last place that I lost it in was in my belly. They were unable to complete parasentesis bcoz he, at some point, had a peritoneal tear causing bowel to escape into the fluid..creating blockage.(SBP) is a bacterial infection in the ascitic fluid, that occurs without an obvious source. It's most common in people with advanced cirrhosis of the liver, who often develop ascites as their disease worsens.

You deserve an award. I continue to hope your healthy living starts to improve your liver. From studies i read, it is slow but completely possible. I’m here for my daughter …only 30. She went to detox and has acamprosate and a little beta blocker. Her symptoms before were some weight and muscle loss which could be anything but I could see some yellow in her eyes. Not severe and her skin never turned yellow but terrifying. They didn’t even tell her to go to a specialist just take those two drugs. She was in detox for 6 days. She of course quit drinking and none of us drink so no exposure from family. But did they do everything to thoroughly assess her liver in detox? I just don’t know.
We tell her to get 100 grams of protein if possible. Vitamins. Tea. Hoping she will start coffee.

I can totally relate to the hips and buttocks getting bigger, thats where us gals accumulate the extra pounds 😅. I’ve been really craving sweets and have allowed myself to indulge. It beats the alternative. When I would drink I would crave the salty foods and now it’s the sweets. I think you covered this in a vid that because alcohol is sugar people in recovery tend to crave sweets. I like the more bitter sweets so I guess it’s better than the really sweet sweets! @veilmontTV Truth be told I drank for about 6 years in my 20s. Then I quit for 20 years. After my wife filed for divorce I started drinking again which last for about 4 years. I was an exclusive beer drinker. The problems really began when I was in a head on collision and suffered multiple wounds. My Dr put me on hydrocodone but took me off when all of the stuff went down with the FDA and the government. With no other options I started taking up to 6000mg of Tylenol.
a day every day. With that and the alcohol consumption I began having problems with my liver. Before I realized it,.. it was too late. I had become terminal . Overall I drank for around 10 years.
