I never get tired of watching the deer. We have about 6 that live in the bushes behind our house. Every year we get to see the babies just learning to walk. I love the foothills

Hey G, your video is so relatable to me. One embarrassing thing about going to the same liquor store is them putting your liquor on the counter before you even get up to it 😮. Always great topics. Omggg aaahhhhh 😬 that is the worst. I had a rotation of 5 stores that I would go to in order to avoid them knowing that I had such a big problem. They knew, I'm sure of it. Ugh lol so glad that that part of my life is over! So, so glad for you, too! ❤️🎉

Covid19 really messed me up too. I had so many losses during that. My Mom passed then my 11 year old bobcat passed. Plus all the isolation. I honestly believe that many many people have been traumatized during those 3 Years.

Covid was terrible for the restaurant industries. Our cafeteria closed down and still hasn't opened back up
I'm so sorry Angela! I was in the restaurant industry during that whole period too. It totally messed up the industry during that period. So many good workers decided to get out and haven't come back. The restaurant industry has not been the same since. Not at all!!!! Thank you! God bless❤❤❤❤

Ugh I remember being totally embarrassed buying liquor too. I'll never forget going up to the self checkout at the grocery store I frequent and the lady that checks IDs called me her "little alcoholic friend". That was one of my wake up calls.

Wow! Your story is so powerful!! I've heard a lot of aspects of your story more than once, but I still can't get over how extreme your addiction was! So sad you had to get within a stone's throw of dying (more than once) to finally get clean. And the road to getting clean, from what you've said, has been anything but easy. Sounds like you cut things about as close as possible in relation to losing your wife, family and life. I am glad you were saved both by doctors and God or whoever controls these things. And I'm glad you worked so hard to save yourself by getting out of your sick bed and forcing yourself to fight for your life. I'm also glad your family didn't break up under the stress. It's all nothing short of miraculous. All of this is a credit to God, to compassionate and skillful doctors, and of course to you, your wife and your family. Hopefully other alcoholics will hear your story and quit booze or be stronger in their recovery. From reading the comments on your videos, I can tell you've already had a huge positive influence on many. I'm so glad you're telling your story and turning your experience into a lesson for others. I can't imagine what it feels like to look back on your own life and see the tornado-like devastation booze caused. Must be depressing in many ways. However, I hope you feel peace knowing you're now doing such important work. I also hope God will protect you and grant you a long life so you can continue to share your message and make up for lost time both in your own life and with your loved ones!! I am in this circle right now ! I have bad high blood pressure painful bloat constant vomiting and feel nauseous all the time . I say I am done tomorrow then always hit that store the next afternoon even though I know it is making me sick. I am trying to get inspiration, and your videos is making me think maybe I can do this because I have to. Hopefully I don’t hit that store today!! Keep posting !!!!!

@@liverdisease-qb6rkI lost my 11 year old bobcat and shortly afterwards I met another one. A female and she was Wild. They were going to put her down so I adopted her. I feel like my other bobcat sent her to me.

@@liverdisease-qb6rk LD I rescued the other one too. For some reason they tend to kill them rather than work with them and find good homes for them. I raised my other one from 5 months old and he was as tame as a kitten. The female I have now has been a tremendous challenge for me. Especially since I was so so ill for over a year. Now that I’m improving, she’s super happy. I really Love animals.♥️

thank you once again for sharing all that. Kudos to your wife who has stuck by you through all this. Love to you both. We have feral deer in the hills nearby (deer are not native in Australia). They are very secretive and there are quite large areas where they can roam without being seen.

@@liverdisease-qb6rk Apparently they they are fallow deer and red deer that have escaped from farmed deer properties. Foxes and rabbits are probably the other main feral animals in the local area.
@jeffturner8927 oh cool! I was just watching a TH-cam video the other day about the icemans last meal and he had red deer in his stomach when he died.

Good video! I think we all did some of the same things as you did in our addiction. I laughed when you said you searched the couches for loose change. I did the same thing and I was always worried about my wife finding out. Needless to say, there at the end I think everyone knew about my alcohol consumption.
Unlike you, my wife left me and filed for divorce. My addiction was too much for her. I never blamed her for my stupidity. But for the mercy of God I wouldn't be here today. Dr's told me I only had about 90 days to live. Now my doctors are telling me that I might have maybe a year to live. It's been almost 6 months and I'm still here. What I do know is that with an affliction like ours we have to maintain a healthy nutritional diet (protein). We must developed a positive outlook on life and last but not least, we must keep ourselves busy both mentally and physically.
Hey, Sam! I'm glad that you're focusing so on your health. Now you see how prognosis goes! Who knows if a year could turn into 10! Keep working hard and hold onto faith. I'm celebrating your win with you! I hope that now you try your best to not focus on numbers. They're an estimation, not a guarantee ❤❤🎉🎉

Hi LD. When trying to quit those hundred times did you ever get thru withdrawal, aside from when you were hospitalized? Not wanting to deal with withdrawal is why we start drinking again, and why medical detox might be more successful.

Omg the change collection and the liquor store rotation... I got hot flashes from embarrassment when you said that!! Only difference is that I would use coin star. Even if it was like 2$...and with that I'd buy a half pint of that bottom shelf practically rubbing alcohol. I'd walk miles a day at my rock bottom just to feed my addiction. Sometimes miles of walking for a half pint of grossness 😬🤯

Covid had a lot to answer for. My drinking got worse during Covid. I think a lot of people's did. I remember going to the gas station and the guy behind the counter kept asking me 'no beer today?' How embarrasing. There was a queue of people behind me. That and walking over a mile to the gas station in the rain after midnight. Crazy. 🤦

Question for your wife- "When I'm drunk I often do stupid things like repeat myself and forget when i put food in the oven" were there moments domestically living with an alcoholic you found irritating/scary/funny?
Come to think about it I can remember my addiction spiraling out of control during the COVID19 epidemic. All I did was drink from daylight until whatever time I passed out. It was a very confusing and difficult time for me. I did finally quit the alcohol abuse but it was far too late. My liver had already went serottic. My heart stopped 2 times while I was in the errands. They didn't expect me to make it through the night. It's been 5 months since my diagnosis and I'm still here. Everyday is precious to me. Here's hoping you are doing well. Keep up the good fighr.
@@SamPonder-pr5js I'm so sorry your health has suffered but hey, as you said your still here and there's always hope. Same for me during lockdown, the company I was working for completely shutdown for 5 months. I was staying in a house with some friends, we all over drank but I took it to another level, just beer but pretty much all day everyday, just watching TV shows, playing games, but eventually I started feeling like crap. I think not working or having something to work on can be so dangerous for people, especially addicts. I worry technological unemployment could exacerbate an already major issue with substance abuse in society

Hey LD, it sounds like you requested next week questions to be posted here. If that's incorrect, I apologize. Anyway, my question is, how long before you got super sick did you begin to notice the mild symptoms of LD, such as easy bruising and spider angioma? I know you had the leg swelling early on, but isn't that a more advanced symptom despite the fact it doesn't really affect your day-to-day living? Additionally, did you ever experience itchiness? Being itchy can be attributed to a lot of things but it seems like a relatively common symptom as well. I totally relate to having 4 or 5 liquor stores in my rotation.
Also, have you ever looked into Tudca? It's a bile salt supplement used for years both Holistically and by Weightlifters on Juice(steroids also very hard on the liver). It seems to have no side effects and is less risky than Milk Thistle. I guess that's more than a question. Have a cool week.
I've done it all. I am sorry about your dog. I am catching up on watching the sober channels because I had that five day drinking binge. It sucked. Good video, as usual LD, Ms. LD. The Marine base where near where I live doesn't follow state laws because it is federal - so their 7-Day Stores (convenience stores) had liquor you could buy 24 hours seven days a week. I never was into liquor, but I am sure it doesn't help Marines that might have alcohol problems.
