Ryan, you have some beautiful stitches. I enjoyed your video today.
❤❤❤
Love the FFOs - the needlebook and ‘piece of your heart’ - so beautiful. Womp womp made me smile 😊
Personally, as a vegetarian, I love the praying mantis but I’d swap the ‘beheaded prey’ for a cute flower! Job done 🌼
Particularly loved the Freisian piece. First time watcher - I’ve subscribed. Thank you. Ps I stitched while I watched - stopping to look at the charts and WIPs - I’m a slow stitcher so suits me fine
You're so cute and charming. Your warmth makes a nice stitchy time for me.
I know what you mean about the chart/photograph discrepancy. I know a lady that bought a very expensive kit of an owl bc she fell in love with the details. Unfortunately, the picture on line of the kit was a painting of the owl and not the stitched up model. A painting can have far, far, far more detail than a cross stitch. Unfortunately, she didn't discover that this was not going to be a good representation of the photo until about 25% of the way through the stitching process. She didn't get what she fell in love with. Very unscrupulous practice by the company to not test it before posting it for sale. I don't know if it was a UFO for her or not. She was out big bucks! Yeah, look very very close at the photo, is it the painting or is it of the stitched piece.
🎂🎁Happy Birthday. Probably way late, just now discovering all your vids.
It's never too late for either birthday wishes or finding my vids. 😊 Welcome to the club, and yeah I think I'm way past due for another flosstube. Fingers crossed I can get my act together!
see you soon@@RyRyMcGuy
Ok Ryan, 56 ct? Oh man! Where's my glasses?
Yeah that was a bit too much for me. I did stitch on 56-count over 2 and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I certainly couldn't do it every day, though.
Oh man, i'm so tickled you wrote back to me. Love your channel. Hope to see you more often. BTW, I got the Colors of Water chart. Thanks for turn us on to it. @@RyRyMcGuy
Hi Ryan, Hope you see this post. My favorite was The Color of Water. In fact, I loved it so much that I bought me a pattern too. Can hardly wait to start it. I would love a stitch with me video. Your soothing voice would be great to stitch to.
Well hello! I hope you enjoy stitching that chart as much as I do. Every time I pick it up, I find myself asking "Why did I even put this down?" 😁 And I think I'll have to do a stitch-with-me video since I'm so behind in my stitching!
The no bake cheese cake, it was buy Country Time Lemonade. ME TOO!! LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Oooo fascinating! In Canada, Jell-O made a kit that came with a powder that you mix with milk and the crumb base that you mix with melted butter. Thinking about it now makes me want one! haha!
Hey Ryan! My I humbly offer a suggestion? You mentioned you had to start over on a new piece of black Aida due to frogging. Retrieve that piece of Aida and pull those tiny fibers out with that. I did it on some white even weave and It returned to stark white again. Good luck Dude! Love your taste in design.
Thank you for the suggestion! They're always welcome. This stitching community is so awesome and open to help. 🙏
Wow really impressed with your stitching and projects. Enjoyed your content and I love Modern Folk Embroidery. I am ripping out stitches as I watch and listen to you! Thanks for sharing!
Aw shucks, thanks! Sorry to hear about the frogging, but I'm happy I can provide a diversion. Hoepfully, I'll have more in the coming year.
Hello Ryan Hoping to see you again soon. Enjoyed your videos. Mary Suzanne from British Columbia Canada
Hi Mary Suzanne from BC! I am very long overdue at making a new video and hope to do so very soon. Thank you so much for watching!
I enjoyed your video very much 😊
Thank you! I can't believe the next Stitch North Retreat is only a few months away. I guess I better film a few more videos before then.😅
Just found you, Ryan. Really enjoyed the video. Great idea for storing fabrics! Also, liked that you listed your projects in the notes. 👍👍 Will be going back to watch your previous videos. Thanks!
I guess I better film some new content, so you'll have something more to watch. ;) And I'm still using the fabric storing system so I'd say it's been a success, at least for me. Happy stitching!
I am stitching while I watch your WIP parade. Your voice is so pleasant and soothing.
That's so kind of you to say! Thank you, and thank you for watching. :)
Just discovered your Flosstube - love it! And LOVE WIP Parades. I ought to do one of these someday …
Yay for new discoveries and yay for WIP Parades! Welcome to my little corner of TH-cam and I'm glad you found something to enjoy here. Hope to see you around later (when I get busy and film a new one!).
Love that Fanny Bramley! Just ordered the chart and silks. 😊
Fantastic! Are you doing 11.3 or Soie d'Alger?
@@RyRyMcGuy well - LOL - I completely goofed here. I ordered the HATS chart/booklet, but not the silks yet. Which are you using for yours? But I also ordered The Colour of Water AND the silks for that. I ordered the Soie d’Alger for that chart.
@@KT-sq2ml I had a few of the called-for in 100.3 for the HATS but I was stitching on 40-count but switched to Soie d'Alger for a heavier coverage. That's also what I'm using for Colours of Water and I'm loving it!
Such a wonderful advent calendar package indeed. ❤
Congrats on your one year on Flosstube. I enjoy your videos I’m new here.
Welcome, Sandy! I'm so glad you're enjoying them. 😊
Enjoyed watching all the goodies you received from Stitch North, Im from B.C. Abbotsford, fellow Canadian🇨🇦
Well hello, fellow Canadian! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It really is a fantastic retreat and I highly recommend it to anyone.
That was really fun watching you open all the packages! Those scissors look wonderful and that little treat I sent you will fit nicely! Enjoy!
Little treat? ooooooo! And yeah, I can't wait to put those scissors into rotation. 🥰
I love smalls & their intricate beauty. I also love squirrels and will have to find the vlog where you show your collection! My friend is a wildlife rehabber so I am also always looking for squirrel patterns (and merch)
Yay for squirrels! And yay for your friend, the wildlife rehabber! That's awesome. You're fortunate that there's no shortage of squirrel designs in the world of cross stitch. The Blue Flower ones are particularly sweet. And one of my stitchy besties knit me a squirrel for my birthday! I show it off at the end of the latest Stitch North retreat video and on my IG account. 😊
I love smalls & their intricate beauty and loved hearing about your squirrel collection (will have to back & try to find the vlog where you show same), my friend is a wildlife rehabber and I collect squirrel patterns (and paraphernalia) also!
Have fun with My stitching Box! 😊
Oh, you know I absolutely will! Can't wait to start! 🥰
Great gifts.
I think so too!
New viewer and subscriber. Such lovely stitching and gifts! Stitch North sounds wonderful! Thank you for your recap! Roberta
Thanks for watching, Roberta, and welcome aboard! I'm glad you enjoyed my retreat video and hope to see you in person at a future one!
I am trying to increase my stash of linen so that it’s here ready when I am to stitch. What are your suggestions for having on hand the count and colours I just love your container with the 40 count already at hand for you ready to go.
That's an excellent question, but you may not like my answer. If I had a next-time-around, I would buy only for specific projects. It's often Murphy's Law that one won't have the perfect linen for a project and so one still ends up having to buy more linen. I do buy the smaller sizes because it's not a big investment and it gives me a better idea of the colour so I can keep it in mind for a larger project. I also do a lot of smaller projects so they'll eventually get used. But yeah, going forward, I only buy when I'm kitting up a project. Best of luck to you!
@@RyRyMcGuy thank you for sharing your expertise and that’s usually what I do is just buy when I have a project in mind. Living in Ontario, I had many shops to choose from and could do that. Now in Nova Scotia, I don’t have that luxury of going to a great shop with beautiful dye fabrics. I have to buy online and pay for shipping so I was trying to think of an easier way and less costly. Thank you 😊
All those tiny packages are just adorable! Your reactions and descriptions of the contents was very enjoyable…thank you for sharing! 😊 Meline
My pleasure, Meline! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. 😊
First time watching you, loved it. I have to back and your older ones. Question, how do you use count pins? I see people who show them, how do use them?
Welcome aboard, Donna! Thanks for finding me. 😊 Regarding the use of counting pins, it seems many would like to know. So for my next flosstube video, I'm filming a "how-to" segment on the 10 ways I use them. I hope to have it posted next week.
This was fun! Thanks for sharing your Advent calendar with us! Loving all of those fun tins! Especially the on you press the lid down to open it! 😮
My pleasure! And that tin with the pop lid really is a hit. The click and snap is so addictive. 😁
So much eye candy! I really love your Fanny Bramley. I was seconds away from pausing and ordering her! I think you said you were using the called for... It's beautiful! The Stitch North retreat sounds like so much fun. The sweet heart you made for Ellen is gorgeous and now I want to make one just like yours! Thanks for sharing your joy and happy stitching~ 🪡🧵🪡
And thank you for watching, Katherine! Much appreciated. Regarding Fanny Bramley, I'm using the called-for soie d'alger and I'm very happy with the coverage. I'm also pleased with how the heart turned out on the Red Cedar linen. It's such a pretty colour. Happy stitching to you, too!
Thank you for the vicarious pleasure. Next time I'm in Paris.....
My pleasure, Sally! I'm happy you enjoyed it.
What a fantastic way to spend some time!! Thank you for saving that treasure and sharing it with us!! 😘😘😘😘
That was a little bit of fun, no? I'm so glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Betsy's squirrel is fabulous!!!
Isn’t it the sweetest?! Definitely one of the most unique gifts I’ve received. She’s so talented.
So much goodness in an hour!!! Thrilled you made it to Stitch North, and I appreciate the recap. Happy Belated Birthday!! Glad good folks were there to celebrate you. September's Revenge is stunning.... and I love your Ink Circle round robin. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Margaret! And yes…can’t wait to start on September’s Revenge. Not sure if I can wait until September. 🤣
I love miniatures, so it was a pleasure to watch you open all those tiny envelopes. I liked many of them, but oh, that saturated blue... I do not know how aristocratic it looks in reality, but on my screen it was a delight. Enjoy your presents and put them to good use! ps. I would have never opened that center-push box, it's the first time I see this trick. :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed the treats! The blue is indeed very intense. For comparison, the closest would be if DMC made a colour between 797 and 798 and then boosted the saturation. And the center-push box is indeed a novelty. It has such a satisfying click when it opens and closes that it would be perfect as a fidget toy. 😁
Happy Birthday Ryan 😊 this is the best advent box I’ve seen ….or maybe it’s your unboxing style ! Loved it ❤
Awww thanks, Sandra! I have no experience filming an unboxing, nor do I watch them regularly, so I was totally flying by the seat if my pants. I’m glad I was able to do the experience justice. ☺️
That was so much fun watching you open the special petite gifts.
Thanks, Mary! In a way, I’m glad I waited instead of opening it at Christmas. Then the little treasures get the full attention they deserve. ☺️
The squirrel's name has to be Alexander, for Betsy's Hamilton.
That’s an excellent idea! Alexander is a great name.
Ryan! I enjoyed your unboxing immensely! Happy birthday to you, indeed! Such lovely packaging. And your descriptions! You are a joy and a comfort. Thank you for sharing this with us! Until next time. xo
Ness! You always say the nicest, kindest things! I’m so happy you enjoyed it. 🙏🏻
What a lovely package of gifts! Sajou products are always so beautiful and it’s wonderful to see the array of them here. Thanks for sharing!
Aren’t they, though! Have you ever been to their shop? It’s rather special.
@@RyRyMcGuy No, I wish...someday perhaps. After I win the lottery ;-), I'll be traveling the world first class, visiting all the needlework related dream spots and going to all the amazing retreats
Oh I loved this, Ryan, especially the scissors and the snap container.
Thanks, Marylee! And yes, the snap on that container is incredibly assertive and satisfying. 😁
Hi Ryan - this was so much fun to watch. Such a lovely advent box with so many beautiful things. I am glad you found 21. Loved those bright little cocoons. Just adorable. Thanks so much for sharing. Take Care!
Thanks, Janiece! And yeah, 21 was a sneaky little fella. Cheers!
New subscriber. Just got back into cross stitching after 30 years. Addicted. Love your pins.
Hi Carol! Welcome back to stitching, and welcome to the channel! I'll bet the craft has changed a lot since you last dabbled in it. It's a whole new world out there and I hope you're having a great time exploring!
I really appreciate your sharing these beautiful items. I just love your videos. Thank you. 💕
My pleasure, Bunny. I wasn't sure about this one but I'm glad people have been enjoying it. 🥰
Hi Ryan! I really enjoyed watching the Sajou unboxing with you today! Lots of little “ goodies”. I like the little pin tins. I use mine for pills in my purse. Have a great week ahead and thanks for sharing! 🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
Hi Marilyn! Yes, those little pins really are irresistible! Can't wait to see what use I can put them to. 😊
So many goodies! Thanks for sharing with us
My pleasure! Do you have a fave?
@@RyRyMcGuy haha nice try. 🙂❤️
Hey your loss.
It's starts with Sajou unboxing, and before long, you're a hand model for floss ads. That was lots of fun, so many pretty things. Hope you enjoy your Sajou goodies. Take care and happy stitching.
Could you just imagine?! That would be quite the career change. Guess I should start investing in some manicures now. Hehe. Thanks for toe vote of confidence.
Great to see you again - I really enjoy your flosstubes and just want to thank you for sharing. You are a natural in front of a camera - love to hear about you and your life in Canada. Hope to see you again soon!
Thank you so much, Sarah! This has been a great exercise in stepping outside of my comfort zone, so I'm glad it doesn't show. Happy stitching and see you in the next one!
