Feel like that would help mitigate strikes even more for sub setups/off-balance

I think Conor showed the most effective way to beat Dagestanis in the third round vs khabib. You keep the fight in the middle and out strike them. If they manage to get you to the fence, you wrist do overhook and wrist control or two on one wrist control

You're saying Dagestani but those fighters are not all the same. Umar is very different from Khabib. The threat of the takedown does make good strikers great but Umar and Ankalaev have really high-level striking whether they wrestled or not.

I think the most overlooked fight in this context is Brandon Moreno vs Askar Askarov. If you watch how Moreno mixes up the striking with grappling, I’d say he laid the best blueprint on how to beat a Dagestani fighter.

IMO, KKF already showed the best way to beat a Dagestani wrestler in Askar Askarov, be a good striker with good anti grappling A lot of strikers are scared to pressure these Dagestani’s cause of takedowns but by simply pressuring with straights down the middle it destroys the opportunity for the Dagestani to move forward for a shot

Current mma rule sets benefit wrestlers In general but definetely dagestani submission wrestling. If it was no time limit or straight 25 mins or similar the game would be much different. They would still be at the top along with bjj and catch wrestlers.

Problem in ufc has that no one has really high level bjj like kade rutolo for eg. Look at rutolo vs khizriev who is a 3x sambo world champ(unlike khabib and islam who have never competed in the sport of wrestling)and kade just smoked him...

Alot of their takedowns come off the cage via sweeps, therefore judo is the answer

Very good video i agree with most of the points. Problem is a lot easier to break it down but when you're in there with these sambo guys and they're putting a beating on you its definitely harder to pull off. Especially as you're getting tired/taking damage

Dagestanis hate losing a fight. Put that doubt in their minds early, a small adversary early and you'll see them buckling in pressure. This applies to all eastern Europeans, they cant bounce back from adversary
