On the sushi is you just don't just bypass the oil injection as it also provides oil to the crank bearing!
What size filters are those i cant get a straight answer anywhere. i even measured mine and came up with 60.mm when i measured the inside DIA of the oem 2 filter connection piece
If you ever think of selling some parts... please let me know. Joe Novella
I have a 87 RT (#115) and also a 88 RU (#209)... I had bought a brand new original 88 RU back in 1988 (#1212). Sold it after wrecking it. 😢 Still to this day try to re-locate it!
How to get out of working on a Vespa video 😂
what size shoe do you wear
Great video! I have a 2000 996 (normal, not SPS) in Coeur d’Alene. It hasn’t had belts or valve adjustment in forever. Know of a shop in the N Idaho area that can do it? Do you guys do it? Thanks!
Oh you left Idaho! Bummer was excited to find a N Idaho Ducati expert!
@@chadhawthorneofficial I am actually back in Idaho and moving my shop to Hayden ID. Yes, I have the tools, manuals and experience to perform a 12k service on your 996. Feel free to call me 208-582-3389
@@emppowersportsandmarine6270 perfect!!!!! I’ll definitely give you a call this summer! When will you be up and running running in Hayden?
@@chadhawthorneofficial working on it now, I have my bikes and equipment stored in a nearby warehouse. I am selling the St Maries Property. Let me know if you would like to meet sometime. I am hoping to open the new shop around September
eBay motorsports has a simple return guarantee for such cases. If the buyer isn't happy with the item, they can return it for a full refund. The seller has to take it back. My eBay bike deal was the impetus for that policy change. The seller blatantly falsely advertised their bike as in as-new condition and shipped me a bike that had been dropped and rebuilt multiple times. At the time eBay wouldn't cover it due to their 15 day claim window. That rapidly changed as the seller had agreed to hold the bike for me for a month before delivery precisely to get out of that window. The problem with having such coverage exceptions is that it entices sellers to cut deals with buyers that absolve them of responsibility when the buyer needs additional considerations to complete the purchase, the sellers exploit this much like a zero money down loan. Of course this all depends on the buyer being stupid enough to trust an eBay seller in the first place, but under that perspective nobody should trust an eBay seller. So now the sale conditions are far too tight to allow sellers to get away with such blatant fraud. You have a case where either the buyer approved of the sale before he knew what he had gotten himself into or he has abused the bike after the sale and is blaming its condition on the seller and is using you to generate a case for an eBay complaint. This is the sad fact of life in the online motorsports market now, everyone is trying to pass the buck when they are unhappy. Especially with unnecessary or "investment" style purchases. Bike wasn't as good as advertised, seller was ignorant, buyer claims fraud. Both seller and buyer realize. this is likely to be the general case...both stop dealing on eBay msports. eBay finds the whole idea to be less than helpful to their bottom-line as they end-up floating the whole online market in used parts. Used-parts dealers with brick-and-mortar shops smile and get back to business .
Tive uma dessa na cor dourada, foi a moto da minha vida...
Why do so many of these vintage Vespas not have rear view mirrors?
Welcome to Canada 👍😀
Thank You
Thank you for the video.
I would have loved to hear why, and see photos
Why Nostalgia, photos (100% agree) but this is a low budget grass root shop and channel. For the record “I am just some guy in a shop, located in the middle of nowhere so please do not take this as financial advice”
❤
I have been riding vespas and Lambretta since 86. I have/had 6. Since I was 16. I get it. But dude, don't be a gatekeeper. Your just parroting. Most vintage bikes are refurbished. Yes? Yes. Never assume. You end up making an ass put of you and me. Vespa are about as complicated as a lawnmower. Tell me when I am lying. They are not difficult to work on as far as motors. Most scooter mechanics , with your attitude are failed car mechanics and are a bit prideful. There typically self taught or apprenticed under the supervision of someone who was self-taught who never went to school for motorcycles. Every motor cycle mechanic knows this. There lazy and don't want to take on a challenge and overcharge. They don't want a challenge. We both know that. That is one reason why they are typically broke. I have dealt with Scooterville , Go fast Scooters * run by Bruce and Eric fro. P.O.W club , South Bay scooters, Scooter West etc...God bless p.s I still ride. I have a 2020 Royal Alloy as well as a Vespa 150cc 1956 .
Nice, I have the exact bike in red. The VR engine is very fast!
Great review--honest and upfront--Thank you--I do have a question..what are the dimensions from the bottom of the leg up to each Pivot point--thank you
What a great example!
Thank you, she is a labor of love
Yer calling aftermarket parts bodges they dont make that bike unsafe to use or ride i agree if its badly welded fair enough this is a very misleading video
Your are talking rubbish mate most or all those items you've shown and mentioned are called aftermarket accessories some are not. They have been making and selling those plus more for over sixty years do your research, it will embarrass you when you have the proof. You are talking rubbish you don't have a clue. That friend that's advises you doesn't have clue either.
What was the price on this bike
It sold on bringatrailer for $4900.
I also have the same bike with 1400 miles. It was stored 40 + years. Yes it IS in better condition than this one. Runs like the day it was sold.
I have a ke125 1978 and the last owner deleter the oil resvior and ran 50 to 1 pre mix but i wanna know if i can get it started with pre mix and if it safe to use or u need to have it injection bike been sitting for a 2 year since last ran
You can bypass the auto oiler on any of these bikes and run pre-mix. I usually do that but this was to nice and original to modify and it happened to work.
If the lift is damaged during transport that is not on Handy. A slightly bowed table top isn't really significant. However, the slack in the lifting frame may be a cause for concern.
A mix of damage from freight and poor construction at Handy. Also, a card board box with no packaging material is not sufficient. They should ship then in a crate, like Ranger does. Handy was supposed to send me a new lift but never did. After two months, I was offered a partial refund or new table top.
hi handsome, have you considered a K&L Lift? 🎉
Yes, K&L makes a great product and good customer service.
I pray my handy Sam arrives undamaged. did you get an insurance quote for shipping from handy before placing the order? question I don't have a garage, do you recommend having it outside? and covered up when the weather permits? Great product review.
Inspect it thoroughly and refuse it if there is any signs of damage.
Looking at a 1999 Ducatis ST4 with 37,000 miles on it so definitely a helpful video, thanks
I'm here for the same. Springfield? I'm passing on it, but it looks nice.
Thanks for the video. A favor if you would. What is he brand and model # of the air spring. Thanks again.

Thanks for your support to handle this puzzle carb work===
But how do adjust how much oil gets into the cylinder mines a 72 and it smokes quite a bit more than yours did
The seats are first give away and the legsheilds never look right
Can you do 2002 ducati st4s motorcycle
Gorgeous
Thanks, we sold this bike on bringatrailer to a guy who had one as a kid. It’s now part of a motorcycle and car collection in Kansas.
That's why I built a roller starter powered by a Predator 212. Once a Bultaco gets a little heat in it, it USUALLY will restart.
That is a great idea. Unfortunately, I ended up selling this bike after 2 years of ownership. It is currently on display at The Moto Haus Museum in Texas
Yup 14 kicks, everytime. 😅 It must be in the mood to be ridden.
Muchas gracias por las indicaciones tan completas

Please email me, I have buyers for this stuff. empmotorsllc@gmail.com
I am prepping a bike for long term storage and was curious about fogging the tank. Thanks for clarifying!
You are welcome. You can pick up fogging oil spray at any auto parts store. Make sure that you fog out both the fuel tank and cylinders, then install a fresh set of spark plugs, along with a fresh fuel filter (if filter is inside the fuel tank).
Ive been looking for a 998 for quite some time now. 20 yrs ago I had a 2000 748s and a 1995 Monster 900. I would love to be guided towards the bikes you mentioned towards the end this video. Please let me know how to get in contact, Thanks!
I have #1418 in my collection, with 3111m from new (Andy, England UK)
Very nice, I run the Ducati 916/996 SP/SPS Registry on Facebook. Feel free to join
Oh wow interesting. Just came back from Nam and saw a bunch of beautiful old Vespas. But they’re known as bodges there and poorly made huh? Good to know.
CHECK THE KEY OPENS THE BANG WATER TANK , NIGHTMARE FKN NIGHTMARE
Top triple clamp is from 999 on this bike FYI
Why would my 916 misfire when it gets hot !!!

Could never afford a Rickman Zundapp 125 on my paper route money back in the 70's. Ended up with an Indian MT 100. They sold both brands at the shop in Perryville Maryland.
I had a Rickman Zundapp, the above bike with the 055 number is my Rickman Montesa
I still come across them from time to time, it’s never too late to buy the bike which you have always wanted
