BMW OIL LEVEL SENSOR ISSUES - LOW OIL WARNING LIGHT FAIL!
i thinks this menthod are really fast ...im usually unclips the hose and repeatedly to turn the steering wheel right@left for make sure old fluids coming out, maybe next time i use this super easy method..
You could do that, but this method is also very effective, and it takes only 5 minutes!
Hi sir watch your videos very nice video. I have 320i 2005 e90 4 cylinder so please tell me what oil i need 5w40 or 5w20 and when i have to change oil i mean afrer how much km's , How many liters of oil does it take? Thanks sir !
You need a 5w30 or 5w40 oil. You will have to look up the correct oil filter for your car. Change the oil every 7500 to 10k th-cam.com/video/7To0liMOceE/w-d-xo.html
nice video i bought a e90 from 2007 318i with automatic transmission , it has only 88 000 km , it was always maintanced every 10 to 15 thousand kilometers , once it was maintanced after 18 thousant kilometers , i hope thats not a problem . i will make sure i change the oil and oilfilter every 10 thousand kilometers thanks for the amazing tips
Yes, I would charge the oil every 10k. Enjoy your car 💪🏽
I have a 320i N43, is this tutorial works for this reference?
Yes, should work. But you'll have to buy the correct oil filter and filter tool
Wow thank you
You're welcome
Aluminum bolts for the Magnesium cover, right?
Yes.
My car is E60 523i N52B25 white cover No leaked oil but consumptions 1L after 1500km with normal drive its 280000km milage Is it normal or theres an issue?
This is normal. 👏🏽
All the brands for parts you got were good , accept victor has lost quality over the years , I have valve cover bolts rusting , and I live in a moderate moisture area , the victor and El-rig red and white box have rubber grommets that go around the valve cover cracking after 4 years
Thanks for letting me know. Valve cover bolts are aluminum so they shouldnt rust. Valve cover seals well see how good they do over time.
Is it n53b30 exhaust outlet camshaft fits in n52b30
You would have to compare part numbers but I assume the N52b25 and b30 have different camshafts because the b30 should have a bit extra lift
@buildanddrive my n52b30 exhaust camshaft is cracked, and i search another but in Bulgaria second hand only find from N53
Hi, I have the 3 stage intake manifold (n52) with two disas, my intake manifold has been getting pools of oil in it, what do I replace? As my intake doesn’t have the round oil crank case ventilation valve on the side of the intake
If you have the black plastic valve cover, the. your CCV is built into your valve cover., its much easier to replace 💪🏽
@ ok thanks, so i need to remove the valve cover to replace it? I can do the gasket at the same time i guess too
this video helped me
Great to hear!
guy with a mask lol
Yep. Like chrisfix
Its the wrong oil filter you should use the Mann HU 815X2
What year, make, model car you have?
E91 n46b20 end 2007
do all the n52B25 engines burn at some stage? if so around how many miles?
Just the old ones, 2006 to 2008 or something like that.
Excellent camera work my friend! ✋
Merci Mike 🙏🏽. The first time I did this job, it was very confusing and no video really showed it properly, so I'm happy my video can be useful to you and others. Feel free to share 👏🏽
Hello cool video man! Hey do you think I could upgrade that fuse to a 40amp fuse? I'm gonna start using an inverter and it the cigarrete lighter port needs to be at least 38amps :/
An inverter on that small fuse that I swapped? You could swap the fuse but I don't think the wiring will support it. I suggest you run a new 8 gauge wire with built in fuse from the battery to where you want the inverter to be.
Are you Canadian?
Yes. How did you know?
@buildanddrive simple: "kilometers"
Ofhg cheap. Its like 900 in labor. Sure the gasket is 20 bucks but that's misleading lol
That's crazy, it shouldn't be that expensive
I have a very obvious ofhg leak but my oil level never changed on my asthma 5k miles. The oil that was leaking was clean all the way until the last 500 miles and my car ran horrible. Could I have been getting low on oil with a bad sensor?
I'm not sure. How many Kms total was on the oil?
with MercedesE300 3011 for 1,5 year & C250 2013 for 7 year I never face this issue. I buy recently bmw 120i 2016 and I change the oil when I have it, I used bmw oil 5w-30 after 1700km I have 1 liter to add, and many other issue I face with the car. BMW is a failure car, It is big mistake to have it.
Yes, some old bmw are getting to be quite painful to own, unless you can fix everything yourself
Amazing video!. Glad i found a new channel to learn from. Im nervous about doing my motor mounts. 😂you got the whole damn engine torn down. Luckily i no longer have oil issues after doing the ofhg. Also, using lucas synthetic with the 20k mobil 1.. changing oil every 5k. Wish i had always done this. Now at 145k. 06 bmw 325i
Motor mounts aren't too hard, but you need a safe way to jack of the motor high enough to get them out. Do one side and then the other.
Hey dude, i have E87. I encountered this situation twice. I added 1 liter of oil each time and continued on my way. After a while, it showed the oil at maximum value each time. Where does this fucking oil go and come back? I have a panic attack at every notification light just because of this oil warning.
It's hard to say, it could be burning. That's why you should change the oil, (if you don't yourself) then drive until it's down, and asks for 1 more litre. Empty the oil and see how much is in there. BMW engineers seem have added that extra 0.5L in the crankcase because the sensor isn't so accurate. So I know when I add a litre, it's the correct level. If alot less than 5L comes out, then maybe your sensor is going bad.
Always remember it’s better to change your oil too much than not enough. If you ever have to ask yourself if you need one then yes you do. Also if you’re losing oil of any kind I would use luqui moly 5w40. I switched to it and it’s entirely stopped losing oil
Yes, I agree 👍🏽. My car is burning oil unfortunately. 5w50 still didn't stop it
What’s with the mask?
Don't want my face online but still wanted to make videos helping people with their bmws. Inspired by chrisfix
What tool did you use on the drain plug?
A screwdriver
@@buildanddrive this plug is one time use im hearing. And has clips?
What tool did you use on the drain plug?
He used a butter knife 😂
Thanks for sharing your experience
Your welcome 🤗
Is there a fuse in the glove box for your running lights as well if they go out??
Yes, you'll have to look at the card to find which ones is the right fuse
Can you do this same technique on an X3?
Yes, I assume so
How’s it run 2 years on
Surprisingly runs awesome. Done lots of track visits, full throttle autobahn runs, lots of spirited driving. Has great power and response. But I should have drilled the original pistons with the new oil drain holes, or just purchased the new piston design, after 75,000kms, it is burning oil again 😅
@ I don’t know what a KM is sorry
@@Dieselpwr hahaha 🤣. After 50,000miles, I have the same oil burning issue again
Love the vid. If your building it for yourself why not genuine gaskets ?
Doubles the cost. These aftermarket gaskets are pretty good. No issues so far (after 70,000kms)
I love the birds chirping
I don't speak 'bird' but I think they were laughing at me saying 'thats never gonna fix the oil consumption issues' 😂😂😂
@@buildanddrive I have two dogs looking out of the window watching me work on my E61, I bet they're thinking the same thing and are placing bets.
Appreciate these straight to the point videos, thank you
Thanks that means alot. I'm always watching these other vids where they talk way to much. Sometimes I'm guilty of it too but try not to lol
Goated album pfp
The lower clamshell on the steering column is proving hard to remove. Any ideas? 5:03
Try pulling the steering wheel all the way out towards you a bit or tilting the steering wheel up or down. It needs some room to unclip and pulldown like I show in the video
It looks like you added too much coolant. If you add too much, the pressure will increase and leaks or cracks may occur due to pressure in the circulation passage or radiator.
Yes, at first I thought there wasn't enough, then I added too much
Did a complete swap following this video thank you !
Yes, look at my other videos! 😀th-cam.com/video/Qc41U1_WJbQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4e39B2RusX7dc2r_
That typ 200 stuff is great, we’ve done 24 hour races with it with stock callipers and apart from when we get pad knock back we’ve not had a long pedal. Btw if your still not getting a great pedal after using this technique (which is what we usually do) then you can go into INPA and bleed it via a routine in there, you still have to have your foot on the brake but it will operate the abs pump as well, so if there is any old fluid or bubbles in there it should push them out. If your after a video idea that might be a good one to do with a “you cant believe this secret trick to get great peddle feel 😀” headline, be warned it uses a lot of fluid, so i’d have 2 litres handy just incase as you don’t want to run the reservoir dry. Mrs drive made me giggle, I’ve forgotten to let my wife know when she can take her foot off the brake many times when doing this 😂
Thanks for letting me know. I always had to bleed it, drive a bit and then bleed it again. Forgot about the inpa thing. Should make a video on it. Never had issues with this fluid. Thinking of trying motul rf600 next year
Love your channel mate! Came across it because our engine was burning a litre of oil every 7 laps 😂 We’re a Scottish team(although last count there are 6 different nationalities involved) that has been racing on and off in NLS/VLN and 24 since 2017 in a 325i e90, we’ve found we can usually do 8 laps of the VLN variant. Sometimes if there is a long code 60 we can squeeze out an extra lap, our rule is if the fuel light isn’t on when you pass the start/finish line you can complete the next lap at full pace, so don’t panic if the light comes on part way round but don’t attempt an extra lap. Btw if you ever fancy getting involve with a race team you’re more than welcome to join us at a vln or 24. We’re easy to spot as we’re basically the only right hand drive car that races there. Cheers, Ben(viken motorsport)
That's about 1L of oil and hour 😅. Rebuild it with the new piston design. That would be cool to get involved with a race team in some way. Let's make it happen. Are you on Instagram?
Anyone have an 06 bmw 325i . 2 stage?. Curious about which one i need. Part number or link.
Is it like the intake I have? 2 disa valves?

Thanks for the detailed video dude!
🙏🏽 Good luck with your brake lines.
Hey I have 2011 328 xdrive when I stop and the car is in drive not all the time but most of the time my rpm’s jump on and down put it in neutral and it stops
You probably have a vacuum leak. Try this. th-cam.com/video/_5Sbz818YVI/w-d-xo.html
IDIOT
Any update on. The engine i have the same particles and a small score in one of the cylinder walls….
Have you measured the clearance of the cylinder walls? My engine was a bit over spec but I rebuilt it anyway, about about 70,000kms I'm burning oil again unfortunately. But engine runs amazing.
Looking to do this repair on my own 06 330i. In regards to the Amazon link you have here for the CCV kit, how is this holding up for you 3 years later? Would much rather pay the drastically lower price versus FCP Euro prices, but just wondering if you had any issues with this.
The CCV is fine but the lower hose leaked after a year. Probably because I removed the 2nd o ring.
@@buildanddrive Good to know! Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for putting all these other e90 videos out there, they're incredibly helpful!
Actually bmw is habitual of oil leaks😂
Tell me about it😂😅
Thank you so much!

Hey man quick question can I remove my head gasket without removing the cam shaft and springs
You can must remove the camshafts and intermediate rocker springs
Well the springs can stay in place, just push them out of the grove on the intermediate rockers.
@@buildanddrivebut time shaft is okay to have on there when just changing the gaskets?
