For those who still have 93B4 after this, particularly if your horn works (i.e. clock spring is OK), consider replacing your MRS module as it may have internally malfunctioned; I replaced mine with two different used units before finally clearing my stubborn 93B4 error code; Auto Repair Guys will show you how to replace the module.
Thank you so much, I need to do this soon. This is what I love about BMW's there is so much info on the internet! This should be the same for an E82 135i right?
Try pulling the steering wheel all the way out towards you a bit or tilting the steering wheel up or down. It needs some room to unclip and pulldown like I show in the video
the coiled wire inside the clockspring will not be centered, if you turn the wheel to full lock on either side, you could break the wire inside the clockspring.
Awesome. These cars are great just a lot of small maintenance things because they are quite old cars now. Im glad this was an easy fix because I did not want to take it to a stealership to get it fixed.
Never. Is your airbag light on? It could be the clock spring cable got under itself and is scraping or something is hitting the plastic under the steering wheel
@@buildanddrive no airbag light, everything works as it should just an annoying noise. I removed the wheel and clock spring and the stalk to clean all behind it and the noise is still present. I didn’t take the clock spring apart however
So my car doesn’t go into D/s or manual mode and my steering wheel controls don’t work or light up at night. What could this mean? If anybody could help thank you.
I've had diffrent problems due to the clock spring begin broken but I took it to the shop and they want to charge me 1100 just to code it. I want to fix it my self but I ain't no coder. But in the video you didn't code yours so iam not sure if the shop I took it to is just tryna scam me. What was the forum you read I want to look more into it to save my self some money
Shop maybe trying to scam you but coding stuff like that is expensive and takes the know how. I suggest you replace the clockspring first. It only took me around an hour or so. I've put the link to the blog post in the description
The paddle shifters run on the DME/CAS system. Check everything is plugged in correctly, you may have had an extra cable or connector on your steering wheel.
@@MRGAPZ7900 I never would have guessed sitting in my 335i for a week thinking about this without using a toilet. I replaced the engine myself while on mount everest. I had to hike down the mountain to get my tools and carry the engine medieval style up the mountain. I also replaced the clock spring in a megamax diaper to save time. I fixed the car and I am at the bmw psychiatric center for mental illness treatment. They gave me medicine and said that the bmw 335i is the number one serial killer in America.
This video really got me out of a jam. Thank you so much. Very detailed and worth the wait to figure out EXACTLY how to do it.
Let's GOOO! So glad this video could be helpful. I had my airbag light for like a year before I tried this. Thankfully it worked 💪🏽

Yes, pretty much the same. Does your steering wheel and controls look like mine?
Steering looks the same except I have buttons and also paddles
The lower clamshell on the steering column is proving hard to remove. Any ideas? 5:03

This video just saved my insanity
So glad it could help! Feel free to drop a like and sub if it was helpful. Or you can donate through superchat to fund my car insanity 😂
When you pulled the steering wheel off what are those 2 plug looking things they look like you meant to plug something into it
I think it's for the airbag
Have this same problem right now thanks bro 🙏
Great. I hope this can help 💪🏽
What would happen if the arrow is not lined up? I get you said it wouldn’t work but could you elaborate? Thanks for the video.

Thankfully I don’t need this yet but thank you sir. Your videos are very helpful for me as an e90 owner 🫶🤝

Check your fuses and connectors to your steering wheel

Also the steering column has a drivet that won’t let it to go back on any other way than where it was
Thanks for pointing that out.
My problem is 93A9 driver's seat belt, I tried 3 times and still the airbag and seat belt fault lights do not go off/clear.
Was your car in an accident?
@@buildanddrive No, there was no accident.
I was parking and I guess I turned the wheel too fast and I herd the ribbon snap and zip like a tape measure. Dang, that was my second one.
Dang dude. At least their only like 35$ on ebay
My paddle shifters stopped working right after I did the same thing. And my steering wheel radio controls and lights are no more. What do I do?
Check all your wiring. Something is not properly plugged in.
@@buildanddrive It's on fire. I burned the 335i a few miles from my home. Call it an ego thing. Checking the news tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Going through hell trying to find what was wrong 😭 replaced air bag and everything
Paddle shifters stopped working after replacing my steering shaft any ideas ??
