I'm confused. The whole 6th gen shtick is radar invisibility. We already have RAM Radar Absorbent Materials (that the public has been made aware of) that absorb 80+% of radar signal. Shouldn't we be focusing on this, to apply to existing jets. To make them Radar invisible. With what we know about RAM currently. This could be applied to the F15EX and a host of other fighters, reducing their radar returns by 80+%. Not perfect but it's current tech, and reducing a radar return by 80+ seems like a hell of a good start over spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the development of something that may never see the light of day.

The Japanese don't intend to use their Type 16 MCVs outside Japan which allow them to forgo a lot of protection features to save weight. Mines and IEDs are not the likely dangers for the Type 16s when they are used to defend their own islands.

The narrator says that there is no reason a trainer cannot make a good fighter. But, there are usually many reasons, such as not being designed to take battle damage, not structurally designed to carry weapons nor electronically designed to support weapons, and not capable of supersonic speed. A revised version of the outstanding Saab JAS 39 Grippen fighter would make a lot more sense than redesigning a trainer to try to make a fighter. But, it is probably a moot point, because the most sensible future fighters are going to be drones.

Problem here is that Russian tank turrents have more flight hours and a higher ceiling than most Russian jets. Their jets do however, carry tons of fuel and thus make brilliant fireballs after being shot out of the sky.

Poland is now flying stealth jets far superior to Russia's. How times have changed...

Imo there should only be 2 considerations for builders/sub type… the German type 212(AIP) or the Swedish Gotland Class … Canada needs to start acting and stop talking. It’s crazy to think those little Russian t72 tanks have a bigger gun on them than western modern tanks. They have 125ml smooth bore guns all western allies have 120ml smooth bore guns. But let’s be honest no real protection.

LRSO will replace the AGM-86B and AGM-129 missiles, primarily in the nuclear attack role but also in the conventional role attack very high-value targets; they can be launched from the B-52H or B-21A.

Seeing as everything that has anything to do with the B-21 will be classified for decades nothing mentioned here is relevant. The smaller size doesn't necesarrily mean anything in regards to range...Modern new engines are far more efficient than older designs and the B-2 is an older design with F118 engines designs that are in the B-2 which are now a 30+ year old design... I would bet the B-21 has a similar range but my guess is just that...

My wife and myself both worked for Hughes aircraft company who designed and built both the avionics and weapons systems for the f-14 and f-15. My dad was the engineer who designed the wings and control surfaces of the Phoenix missile and was later one of the lead engineers in development and testing of the aim 54c. My wife initially worked at Hughes Helicopter LHX, Notar and Apache, then went to Hughes Aircraft Company Radar Systems Group...her department was responsible for the manufacturing and performance analysis of the systems for the F14, F15, F16, F/A18, F18, B2 and APSAR programs. The Phoenix missile was originally designed by Hughes in 1958 for what was to be our very first high-altitude supersonic interceptor to be built by Lockheed. The final 5th prototype missile was delivered in 1965. The USAF was impressed as the missiles exceeded performance specs and were delivered 1 month ahead of schedule. By 1968 the USN picked up the missile program as they need to protect the carrier fleet and secondly be able to take out an entire USSR squadron which both the phoenix and falcon missiles were designed to do. The Phoenix was designed to carry either conventional or .25 kiloton nuclear warhead. The "A" version with analog computers had a proximity fuse where by 1968, high speed digital computers were now used.... Although the C version wasn't deployed until 1973 iirr. Over 150 tests were conducted against drone aircraft during the life of the program off the coast of the San Miguel islands in California. A single F14 could literally protect 2 percent of the entire pacific ocean....... The amraam was the next gen Phoenix and the new aim is on the horizon.
