The Russian Kinzal is not a hypersonic weapon. It is nothing more than an air launched ballistic missile. ALL ballistic warheads have always traveled at hypersonic speeds during their terminal phase. Even the USA’s very first ICBM the Atlas did this. Simply traveled above Mach 5 does not make a weapon a Hypersonic weapon. To be considered a Hypersonic weapon it must travel at least Mach 5 AND be able to maneuver with either control surfaces or chemical thrusters. Ballistic missile warheads do NOT maneuver. They follow a predictable path which is why they are fairly easy to shoot down. ICBMs are harder to shoot down but short and medium and intetermediate range ballistic missiles are pretty easy for the USA to shoot down. Russia does have a missile that they claim is a hypersonic cruise missile. The Patriot air defense system has shot it down as well. The Ukrainians waited until they had absolute proof that was what they had shot down and they had the proof. So Russia says it has invincible weapons that’s a bunch of nonsense. You can’t believe anything the Kremlin says and only half of what the Chinese say. You can believe the USA because we have to prove our stuff works or Congress will not authorize the funds to pay for it. In totalitarian countries such as Russia and China that doesn’t matter. That’s why corruption is so rampant in their society. No accountability.
That’s unless congress is corrupt then it will sign off on big deals because they’re getting a slice of the money pie by signing off on a missile that doesn’t do what it it said to do. So you see you have the same problem as the rest

Not all ballistic missiles are hypersonic missiles, America's atacms for example only has a max speed of Mach 3. There's no confirmed case of intercepting a hypersonic missile. Ukraine claimed to have shot down a kinzhal but it was later shown to be a kalibr cruise missile.

Taking out the depleted ships and/or hitting vital targets that need a little more fire power. 23 C-17’s could carry 1,000 barracuda-M’s with each carrying 45. And 5 B-1 Bombers can carry 100 Jassm/Lrasm with each carrying 24. That’s 10% of the C-17 fleet and around 10% of the B-1 fleet. This attack could cripple any invasion fleet from China. Without putting any carriers at risk.
