I appreciate Rod Roddy but Gene Wood would not have been bad as the next announcer until Rich Fields came in 2004. In fact, I think Gene Wood would have been better. MUCH better. 🎉

Gene Wood was a great announcer no doubt but his voice was too deep for this. Johnny Olsen and Rod Roddy could dial it up if they needed to.

I read on Wikipedia that Bob Barker, Mark Goodson, and Roger dobkowitz said that gene’s Voice was too harsh for the show. Bull crap. His voice may be a little soft but not harsh. That is why they picked Rod Roddy out of all of the announcers.

I remember that episode way back when I was a kid. Rest in Peace, Bob Barker. Bob Barker was the true host of the show not Drew Carey. To me, Bob Barker was much better looking than Drew Carey. To me, Drew Carey looks like a slob.
