My favorite part of the clip is Bob firing the starter's gun, and then at 2:30, you can hear him say, "I think I hit a lady in the audience!". Paramedics, come on down!
There is. A contestant lost a chance at a trip to the Bahamas, when she picked Borateem over cottage cheese. There is even a visual when the crashing sound is heard.
I don't think so; Hurdles had one of the lower winning percentages of any game that has been played on "The Price Is Right" since the show's inception in 1972, not to mention also the game had tendencies to incessantly malfunction at times, thus finally leading the producers to say that they'd had enough and put the game out of its misery for good by the spring of 1983.
@@EricEbac22 I could totally see Hurdles being much more reliable with the mechanical components being computer-controlled. They have a new game called Gridlock, which uses some mechanical stuff that haven't gone haywire as of yet. Plus, Time is Money getting revived recently, anything is possible.
The Certs was a no-brainer, so were the dates, but Lauren was quite skeptical about the freshner. As it turns out, Lauren caught a break, because the air freshner cost 85 cents, and she won with four cents to spare.
Not really. There is no difference between when Bob Barker was host and now that Drew Carey is hosting. Why do you think there's a difference? Besides, retired games are never brought back into the pricing game rotation.
Drew talked the producers into bringing back the game "Time is Money" last season, though only once has the full prize, in this case $20,000 in cash, been won. Time Is Money was brought back to be played for an all-cash prize, though the rules are still the same as in the original run: products that cost less than $3 go on the first pedestal, products that cost between $3-$6 go on the second, and products that cost more than $6 go on the third pedestal. Also, the first time around putting products on their respective pedestals, the contestant has only 10 seconds to put them in what he/she believes is the correct order.
Hurdles rocked, except when it broke down. The contestants really got into it too... especially when it looked like the hurdler would crash.

In 1998, this contestant told Bob Barker that he wanted to play Hurdles and Bob said "That's a game we took off The Price Is Right 15 years ago."
You know, its understandable why this game was retired....but what a good game!
It was retired due to frequent technical failures.
Woooow the year i was born!
Hopefully we can get a playing where I can hear if the Crash sound is the same as that in Cliff Hangers.

Now that Drew Carey is hosting T.P.I.R. Hurdles has to came back. Does anyone agree??

Has it really been 11 years since drew carey took over

Laura is taller than Bob Barker!

Listen closely to John at 1:27 for the frosting. LOL. Try saying that!
I love Hurdles! =D
Me,too.
They just reused the name, just like they reused the name "Bulls-Eye". That doesn't mean they unretired a pricing game.
He used a blank pistol.
It's a cap gun.
I would have lost on the last hurdle!
looooove Hurdles. I get why it was retired, but man it is fun. Easy game to figure out and fun to watch. What else do you need?
With today’s tech, I could see that make a comeback.
I saw this since I was little, not a bad game, but it was a similar concept than “Cliffhangers” do.
They should bring back Hurdles one day. 😀👍
What was the date that this episode aired?
Plinko replaced this in 1983.
Nope. The game was still around after Plinko... not much longer, though.
HOW DOES IT PLAYED
CAN I HAVE THE RULES OF GAME PLAYED
The idea is to choose one product from each of the three pairs that has a price lower than the hurdler’s product displayed at the starting line.
Big girl... :)

Bob had more charisma than Drew. Drew is okay, but he is no Bob.
