TPIR Close 1981- Wardrobe Malfunction
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 10 เม.ย. 2007
- Think Yolanda was the only one to lose her top? Think again. From the close of a 1981 show, Holly begins to lose her dress so Bob has to cover her up! Kool And The Gang's "Celebration" plays in place of the regular close music since it was featured in the winning showcase. Also worth noting the contestant won over $27,000; not a bad haul for the early '80s.
1:51 my favorite part of the clip!
That Price Is Right logo at the end couldn't have been timed any worse!
what do you mean?
Vinylman65 : Actually.her top comes down right after the last square "dissolves" the Logo.
It happens very fast, but no one except her notices and then she turns around holding her top.
If you're quick enough with the pause, you can catch it.
@@ebayerr play at .25
@@ebayerr Wow, you're right! I can't believe they actually allowed that to air. LOL
@@ebayerr It's a celebration!
Hey Holly, Thanks for 1:51 on this video. You have always been my favorite hostess even without flashing me. THANKS!
It's a celebration!
Damn...Holly could dance a lil bit.
I knew it was Holly before I watched the clip...She seemed to be front and centre when it came to bloopers
That wasn't a malfunction, THAT was a blessing for mankind, however brief!!!
It will edited when you get home folks.js
Only one word to describe the song "celebration" by kool and the gang playing during the closing credits of The Price Is Right" -- EPIC!
and it truly is a celebration when watching TPiR!
I just think it awesome that they're playing "Celebration".
It's 1981... the song was on the radio every other song.
The show also played Celebration during the end credits a NYE 1982 episode

@@wolfshanze5980 Yes it was! i remember those days.
Hell, Johnny Olson was the "double showcase" winner on that taping!
Gosh, there's nothing like a tall glass of Holly!
mtz loop oil.llo
Indeed. She was my favorite among Barker’s Beauties when I was a teen.
@@brookeking8559 Heck, I was single digits in age & I was in love with her!!!
They played this song because a jukebox with this song in it was one of the prizes she won.
holly was my favorate beauty
ericou812 I loved Holly as well! Her blunders, goofs, and pratfalls are what I call "the stuff of legends"!
Woooow!!! This program was in air a couple of years before I was born!!! 42 years ago!!!😮
Those were great days .
Unfortunately, The Price Is Right logo blocked it.
I guarantee a kid watching this live as it happened grew up to invent HDTV
I love how Johnny just laughs at her and Bob is the one covering her with his suit.
She has a wardrobe malfunction.
Johnny sez "COME ON DOWN!" to the dress. I'm a dad.
This episode was just on Pluto TV the other night. Had no idea what they were even doing LOL....40 years later.
NOBODY...NOBODY....will ever be better on the TPIR...then Bob Barker...he was made for the show!
Yes. He certainly was and he's up in heaven dancing the night away with his late wife.
@@TheFrankenstein1972 hmmmm, he might not be in heaven based on what some of these Beauties say about him.....
"You are one of our biggest winners ever! Now, this gentleman from the IRS would like to have a word with you...."
They were gettin' down. The only thing missing was the Soul Train Line---lol
I was only thirteen but had a manly crush on this beauty.
Don't blame you
This was from their New Year's Eve broadcast. For a few years, they always played Kool and the Gang's "Celebration", on these episodes.
14DaveHunter Wrong. This is from October 16, 1981 (the full episode’s on YT)
all of them were great.
The woman in silver IS Dian. Janice is in the red, Holly in black.
*Kool and the Gang* literally says, _"Yahoo! ...it's a celebration,"_ at precisely the right time
The girl in the silver dress..oops. What an awesome show this was, I grew up on this show, ahh the days of sitting home watching people bid for prizes and play plink-o. :)
I would play sick to get to stay home from school for 2 reasons.. falling asleep BY MYSELF to the morning news in front of our TV in our house ( 4 of us in a very cramped, tiny 2 bedroom 1 bath) until around 11 am when TPIR aired on CBS on CH 7 in 1977!
Holly Halstrom is the ravishing redhead. the 2 blonde lasses were Janice Pennington and Dian Parkinson. Holly was my favorite beauty from the get go!!!
Ah those were the days with Barker's Beauty's.
Holly was always my favorite.
I've 'cleaned up' Yolanda on my channel. This was awesome! Bob was sporting the beige/brown sport suit like a champ. Johnny Olson can't dance 😆
Does anybody know the song that plays when the girls show the dresses? It’s October 16th 1981. *Not Celebration by Kool & The Gang*, the disco song that plays before Celebration - “Dancin..” when Holly has the first malfunction.
a jukebox was one of the prizes the contestant won. And also, she was on of the biggest winners of the time, reason to "celebrate".
Also, there were a few times other music was used instead of the regular theme, only if someone won the showcase that involved other music instead.
A few instances include Tarantella after someone won the showcase including a trip to Italy, several instances of The Stars and Stripes Forever during patriotic showcases if won as well as salutes to troops. Also, Sleigh Ride (Leroy Anderson's version) was a frequent Christmas closing except for one episode that had an instrumental of Jingle Bell Rock.
1:52 - Just as 'The Price is Right' logo is almost wiped from the screen, you'll see it.
lol geez that and janet jackson at super bowl 38 are the best in CBS history
Dammit, Bob and Johnny, move out of the way!!!
Lol 😂.
It was after his wife Dorothy Jo died in October of 1981.
I love now the blinking numbers on the podium sync with the audience clapping to the song.
I think I know where to find it I'll look and post it when I can.
As WilLWatchAnything mentioned in any early post, "Celebrate" was one of the songs on the jukebox offered in her showcase.
Before Bob Barker close each episode of The Price Is Right saying, “Help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered.”
GREAT SHOW 👍 LOVE IT 🤩❤️ . # 1
Lol now that was funny!😄😉
Holly and Mary Ann. As guys get older and wiser, they start leaning toward the Hollys and Mary Ann types.
"come and get it!" Bob Barker said no you fool it's "come on down"
A Cadillac Coupe de VIlle, a Jukebox, plus some other stuff which I can't remember off the top of my head.
The dresses the ladies wore
Dian would have intentionally lost her top, if they would have let her!
She posed in playboy in the early 90s. She was 50 and fine
She slipped here as well
at 1:04 holly lost an earring, at 1:20 she had to tug at the dress.
@pspguy28 Yeah, exactly when did he first start saying that?
I love cool and the gang.
This episode aired October 16, 1981.
There was one episode on TPIR where the Go-Go's song "Our Lips Are Sealed" was playing on the jukebox during one of the showcases. Does anyone know what the air date of that episode was? On that episode, was it also used during the closing credits?
No, it wasn't used, but the lady won the showcase that had that playing on the jukebox in 1981 with a model dressed as a dancing bear.
ok but do you happen to know the air date of that episode?
@@matthewrivera5923 March 4, 1982.
It's now posted as my latest video.
I wonder if any Price is Right episodes back then ever used The Jacksons song "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground" during the closing credits?
Dian would have worked the heck of that one
Wasn't this the first show of the 10th year?
TPIR needs to go back to this (not the wardrobe malfunction, but more airtime for the contestants). After the showcase, Drew can do a voiceover, instead of crowding the shot, and show the excited winners.
Just get Drew off the show.
@@johnallison7358 ..for who ? Steve Harvey ?? He's already trashed every show we used to enjoy.
Didn’t see nothing but Bob barker probably seen a lot more !!!!!😜😜😝😝 and Johnny Olsen
I also loved watching Janice dance to a jukebox. they were bidding on. she could swing those hips. That was why Bob Barker stayed so long
Damn credits..
I think so.
That's a girl Holly give us a quick flash similar thing happened to Dian when she was wearing a nice a nice black short v neck dress which was quite low cut to start with anyhow it starts to rip open showing off a little more than she hoped for
rrunner, sorry, but it was Holly Hallstrom who had the 'wardrobe malfunction'..NOT Dian..
A $23,000 showcase back then? WOW!
He didn't start saying that until aorund 1985 or so.
Bobby Barker getting all the beaver
All you guys are old me too...
The lady in silver, Dian, also had a WM? So both commnets would be correct.
What fun this show was every day. So lucky ro have grown up in those times.. born in 1060.
1060? You have been around a long time.
@@curleygumbo1487 it happens fast.
@@curleygumbo1487doubt there were many other 921-year-olds watching TPIR back in 1981. 😉
why were they playing "celebrate" as the ending anyway?
couldn't see??¡!¡!😲
I think Bob thought Johnny was moving in on his Piece
Rip bob
Long before Janet Jackson ever thought of it. 🤣
Yes, I still do think Yolanda was the only one to lose her top on this show. Got a problem with that? :-P J/K. These occurances aren't as rare on TV these days as they once were, if it were to happen now, it would be considered ordinary. :-)
hotter than Yolanda
I wish the person who posted this had shown us the enitre showcase she won...I actually remembered this episode from when I was 8 years old, and would have enjoy seeing her showcased described by Johnny. All 3 party dresses were part of her showacse also. Any chance of posting the enitre showcase?
It’s October 16th 1981. It’s on TH-cam.
The entire episode is available here: th-cam.com/video/oakI02xZPK4/w-d-xo.html
I remember watching prices right back then I had such a crush on Halle, one of the other models what does Diane and I can’t remember the third one.👍😁😎
Some things cannot be contained by conventional methods.
I hated that the shows from 1980-1996 had the credits on the crawl screen. If I was them, I would've pulled a "Family Feud" 1982-1985 and had the credits chyroned. My ideal font: the one seen on "Late Night with David Letterman" from around this time.
Holly. Now I know who Taylor Swift has reminded me of all this time.
What a rare clip! Before the "spayed and neutered speech!" When did that start anyway? I remember the first time I heard it but cannot remember when it was.
Either in 1981 or 1982. Bob’s wife had passed in October 1981; she had been very passionate about animal rights. He found comfort in working for animal rights, and sometime after she died, he started the “have your pets spayed or neutered” closing.
Ah the good of days of using unlicensed music LOL
27.5k in 1981? That's got to be about $80k today..
@starstarstar42 He probably tapped a good majority of them. So what's the big deal about that?
don417 he did
*clicks the gear* ... dangit! 240p is the max resolution LOL :D
Had I seen this episode back in the day, Holly would have been my favourite instead of Dian! XD
. . . . Everything is Right over at "The Price is Right" .
iS THAT THE FIRST $20,000+ showcase?
@pspguy28 he started doing that after his wife died, who was a huge animal activist. It was in respect for her, and her work.
So are the new ones.
meanwiddlekid ?
She won $27456 that is a showcase average. showcases averages 26000 grand
oh well, too bad this isn't in HD tv...........
Unbelievable
didnt see a thing ?
Wow. That was before he said have your pets spayed or neutered.
gr8 song at the generic
80's was a real KOOL AND THE GANGZ era for america
Obviously it was one of the models who was having a wardrobe malfunction! And in those days, Bob didn't urge people to have their pets spayed or neutered!
Did I actually see what I thought I did
pause then use "." to step forward frame-by-frame and "," to step back
Oh please! If you blinked you missed it and behind all the credits, who the fuck actually took it in
This kind of stuff always happens to Holly...
1:51 -2:00 WTH!
