    Im setting up to cut some 1/8" aluminum sheeting .. I'm going to use the wood blade that came with my track saw .. but I'll use the 40 tooth blade based on what I saw herer! :) Thanks. China a VS "American Name brand" .. is always a spirited debate, I bought a "grooving blade" my track saw, recently This type of 'grooving blade cuts a pointed 90 degree X up to, 1/4" wide groove .. half way through aluminum sheeting to make neat straight 90 degree bends. It's small diameter (4 inches) ,and cost $29 from China. The "Good Quality one" name prnd one is ALSO made in China and costs $260 !! My idea is abit experimental, and I cannot justify paying alomsy 10 TIMES the ost for the Makita Brand, far as I know they might be made n the same factory??

    Once you dry the filament how long does it stay dry for?

    • @iheart3dprinting951
      @iheart3dprinting951 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you seal it up and put a desiccant with it it may still get wet but not as quickly in a sadwhich bag or Rubbermaid tub. I think its better to plan ahead and have a drying plan. If your serious about storing dry filament get a food sealer with the ribbed vacuum bags and put a bag of colored desiccant in there to track its moisture level. The food bag sealers are not expensive and very accessible.

    It sounds like the Ph keeps changing. Is there a point at which it will stay where you're trying to keep it? Also, how do you test Ph in soil. Is there a different type of Ph meter for that? I have some basil plants in the ground that are growing but their leaves are staying small when they grow in and it does tend to get yellow on the bottom leaves and some will even dry up and get brown, so this may or may not be what you're experiencing, but I am planning on taking some cuttings or growing seeds in hydroponics. I have not yet tried basil that way.

    • @iheart3dprinting951
      @iheart3dprinting951 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In a larger reservoir it can stabilize where you need to adjust less often. No matter what PH adjustments never end but you can space them out.

    Wow, awesome review! I’m considering how I’m going to cut linear aluminum rail and looking at those evolution saws because they cut slow at 1450RPM. Evolution is giving those saws away for review. Would you consider asking them for a saw, and repeating the same test, with similar photography shots? You might be able to get a free saw and blade. I think you’d offer a better review than any other content creator because you’re using good photography for your comparison method.

    Unless pH down/up work differently than acid and base, adding them together just makes water. So I wouldn't recommend doing what he said with the clamping the pH unless your using the right product.

    • @iheart3dprinting951
      @iheart3dprinting951 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While there are better ways to buffer a hydroponic solution, the clamping down method works and is documented by other growers using kratky. You forgot the part about adding the nutrients and how those interact. Especially when using RO water with no acid/bases present. Anyone can try this and have a control and find if there is any benefit. "In the case of adding acidic fertilizers to water, these often contain nitrogen in the form of ammonium ions (NH4+), which can act as a weak acid. If you were to subsequently add a strong base, like potassium hydroxide, you would deprotonate some of the ammonium ions to form ammonia (NH3), which is the conjugate base of the ammonium ion. This could potentially form an ammonium/ammonia buffer system. Similarly, many fertilizers contain phosphate ions (PO4^3-) which can act as a weak base. Adding a strong acid could protonate the phosphate ions to form dihydrogen phosphate (H2PO4-), hydrogen phosphate (HPO4^2-), or even monohydrogen phosphate (H3PO4), depending on the amount of acid added. This could potentially form a phosphate buffer system."

    Hahaha reminds me of about 15 years ago I was inventing equipment for ponds and I had a pile of fails the size of a pickup truck. So much fun. For me there comes a time when a design works. No more gut feeling something wasn't right. And normally it's a simpler design. One trick I use is is to ask "how could that be simpier. Not cheaper, weaker, just simpiler.

    • @iheart3dprinting951
      @iheart3dprinting951 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I go through that process constantly, many of my designs I try to make the core functionality just be simpler and intuitive. I been working for a year for a company and part of my job is problem solving and implementation. Everyone wants to make things more complicated and can't understand why adoption inside the company is difficult, more barriers = less adoption even if the end result is awesome, I find I have to bread crumb feed complex ideas using simple designs and concepts in layers. Thank you for the comments on my videos, I read them on the phone and dont have time to get to computer to relax and reply. I agree. Wheels make life easier especially in small spaces. And I'm pretty sure even the largest shops get small at some point. Here in Phoenix we have bulk trash pickup 4 times a here. I walk alot and often find tossed bed frames...free angle iron.

    • @iheart3dprinting951
      @iheart3dprinting951 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Be careful cutting the bed frames with a carbide tooth saw, the steel I think has a higher carbon content and that prevents flex, it also makes it hard to cut and will destroy blades. I only know this because I cut one up with a diablo 7 1/4 steel demon and the blade was finished.

    QUALITY wood blades do just as good as your metal blade with aluminum. You used a junk/stock wood blade with way less of a tooth count and compared it to a far superior blade with a much higher tooth count and this is hardly comparing apples to apples. AND you did it on one of the worst miter saws ever made......I tried that saw....two of 'em in fact.....and unstable saw with the worst throw out and vibration of ANY saw I've EVER used. All in all.....a quality wood blade on a quality saw does just as good as the metal blade.

    I cut aluminum, usually thin and small parts on miter saws almost every day at work. I have used them and see them used in the field as well cutting much larger amounts. In my opinion, a good quality non ferrous cutting blade is worth it. The cuts are more controlled, smooth, the chips seem to roll off more softly, and the thin parts just about never catch. Same goes for hand held circular saws. Last thing is, I see loads of Diablo wood/ non ferrous blades loose teeth so fast I would never buy them.
