How ONE Ball Forced The ICC To Rewrite The Rules Of Cricket. In 1981, during a tense ODI match between Australia and New Zealand, an extraordinary act by Australian captain Greg Chappell left the cricket world stunned. With one ball remaining and New Zealand needing six runs to tie, Chappell instructed his brother, Trevor, to bowl underarm, rolling the ball along the pitch to prevent a six. Div...

Gosh I was lucky enough to be their with my mum dad and brother for the final. A fantastic day. A magnificent atmosphere of sun music via drums 🥁 and tin cans . Aussie and windies supporters mixing together. Imagine seeing lloyd richards kallicharen / lillee thompson and chappell with your own eyes. Great epic match. After the west indies won, we actually walked onto the lords pitch. A day I will never forget. Great post.
I can’t think of anyone who would have been quicker then Thommo
The great Malcolm Marshall 🤝🤌
The only all-rounder best bowling average 22 thr great Imran Khan the leader
Quite simply the greatest batsman of my time (if not all of time). Better than Lara, Tendulkar, Pointing etc.
The best ever.
That speed was recorded AFTER his shoulder operation
This video is like a bad essay on Javagal Srinath.
You guys have to watch the documentary about this called Fire in Babylon
@@marshalldamons2663 yeah! I watched it. It was amazing🔥
Deadly, fast and highly accurate. Saw him bowl live and was very impressed.
One of the best 🔥
One of the best 🔥
What happened to West Indies cricket? I left the Caribbean in 1990 and stopped following cricket. Thirty years later I am looking at You Tube and Bangladeshi is beating the crap out of the West Indies! They never belonged with the A teams.
A very sad downfall
Shoaib Akhtar, Brett Lee, Shaun Tait and the very few others that could hit the the high 150's consistently had thousands of deliveries speed checked and with favourable breezes behind them to get those few magic 160 km/ 100 mile per hour deliveries for the record books. Jeff Thompson still hit over 160km with no more than a few dozen deliveries ever monitored. If JT had every delivery monitored under match conditions for 10 years I am in no doubt he would still be the undisputed fastest ever recorded.
Fastest🔥
Collis King told me that after Thommo bowled his first session in the West Indies, a bunch of officials, ground staff and players inspected the pitch because they thought something was wrong it, coz Jeff kept getting the ball to kick off not-so-short lengths. They thought his kicker balls were being caused by a fault with the pitch. There was nothing wrong with the pitch
Jeff thomson was something else 🔥
Michael Holding once said in an interview that the best hooker he ever bowled to was Mohinder Amarnath. Quote l bowled four bumpers to him but in the score books sixteen runs were scored. That definitely was a very good batsman. He wss given s raw deal by the lndian Selectors.
When real men played cricket. No helmets
🔥
Lovely storytelling sir. Well narrated
Thank you so much

Thommo
🔥
Even though he was one of fastest and decent swing bowlers, he never got appreciation. One of few player who stayed away from any controversy and match fixing
@@alakhpatel8001 yeah
Thommo owned a caravan park in Bundaberg Queensland and we lived over the road. My Dad was a professional pianist, and if he didn’t have a gig on the weekend,he would play in the afternoon, and some people would sit and listen. On the occasion that Jeff was there,(which mostly he wasn’t, he had a caravan park manager) he’d bring dad a six pack of beer, and request a few songs.
🔥🔥
One of the greatest batsman ever ❤
Yeah
Still remember when all bowlers struggling but Srinath stand out.Prasad his partner in boling. He was the best fast boler untill Bumrah came in.Best boler of India according to me,Srinath,Bumrah,Zaaher Khan,Md Shami and Kapil Dev.
Jeff Thomson held the West Australian Javelin record at around 68 meters if I recall correctly, using the old implements. Neeraj Chopra is capable of bowling over 120mph, though it would be hard for him to replicate his action for multiple overs. The Pakis and Indians have some good throwers, so perhaps some will adapt to Cricket and scare the crap out of some batters in coming years.
Best❤ batting and bowling ❤ allrounder ❤sanath jaisurya
🔥🔥yeah
The recital seems like reading from a paper and highly artificial
It is worth mentioning that nobody was wearing helmets against this speedster (and others like him).
Yeah
His entry into Indian team was delayed due to the fact to accommodate Kapil to cross his ‘mile stone’, Srinath was ,still a gentle giant, a role model to the present generation of cricketers, a simpleton it’s always a pleasure to meet such a kind hearted personality!!!
I saw Clive in 1968-69 - at that stage he, along with Paul Sheahan, were the premier fielders in the world plus Clive was a fabulous batsman. At that time Gary Sobers was around so we all watched Gary ( bat, bowl, field or even walk around ). He was the best ever. ( Bradman, Warne, Gilchrist and Garfield ) But Clive was already the real deal. Along comes 1975-1976 and Thommo and Lillee, but especially Thommo were unstoppable. BUT the Windies got the rough end of quite a few hometown umpiring decisions that Clive put away for posterity ( to get even ). Andy Roberts was already the real deal but a guy called Michael Holding and Viv Richards were just emerging. Plus Clive remembered the merciless pounding by Thommo and Lillee. The rest is history. Clive held a grudge for 20 years and passed on his legacy / philosophy. Ian Chappell wisely retired ( out of fright ).
Greatest of all tme.
Yeah🔥
He performed well in only Australian and English conditions
Srinath is the most underrated cricketer of our times. He was fast and had a very good set of skills .True legend of Indian cricket.🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏
Exactly
Highlights look good, but I remember praying that he pitches 5 out of 6 balls right at the wicket taking line length and not be humble, also field well at boundaries
Yeah
Jeff Thompson is the best bowler I have seen and I am 62 years old and 1974 series was the first cricket I watched
Great🔥
Can you make a video about the great of Larry Gomes ?
Sure, will work on that
Gordon Greenidge was a magnificent opening powerful batsman. Once at lords in the mid 1970s he hit a six that nearly hit me and my dad. He 😮was a great cutter of th ball. Yes he was superb but viv Richards was better. Viv could do ll those things and more. Eg hit six doing a cover drive . Hit six flicking ball over mid wicket. They were both colossal great batsmen during the west indies heyday . Great cricketing post.
🔥yeah, both were great
If Hadlee had the quality of bowlers at the other end the likes of Lillee, who had Thompson and the West indies who went into tests with, at times 4 of the best bowlers in the game. And not to mention batting line ups to put pressure on the opposition bowlers, he would today be regard as almost the best.
❤️❤️
Love ya stuff, Aussie here, watched on telly Do you know Australia's greatest female bowler Devastated the poms LillianThomson Say no more hey
🔥😅
