SA would have turned into a berserk after winning 1999 World Cup and Australia still may have won 2003 WC but they would have most probably remained the second best team.
I think they already have a world class team, they just need a little belief in them to perform in the last stages of the tournament. They came close to win the T20 world cup. Sooner or later, they will win.
Maybe maybe maybe! If Gibbs had’ve completed the catch. If Steve Waugh hadn’t played a blinder either side of the incompleted catch. I Warne hadn’t have bowled so brilliantly in the semi and if only Klusener hadn’t lost his brain at the end. And I’ll remind you that there was a run out chance the ball before the actual run out that ended the game so in actual fact the same result was almost achieved one ball before. I was having the day off work to watch (I was an Aussie playing club cricket in England at the time) and I still think it’s the dumbest piece of cricket I’ve seen at the professional level considering the Saffas only needed 1 run off the final 4 balls. From memory there wasn’t one piece of communication between Klusener & Donald and there is no doubt in my mind that this was the single biggest contributing factor to them not getting the result.
Donald should have been run out by Lehmann at mid on, the ball before. Hence his reluctance to run on the 4th ball. Sth Africa still had two balls after that to win. Klusener running is the error, not Donald ON THAT BALL.
Ricky Ponting told Mohammed Kaif " how many catches will you drop Kaify. You will just drop the world cup". Ponting went on to score 140* and gave the target 360 as they made 359-2. Mohammed Kaif made 0 in the world cup final of 2003.
Sorry but the dropped catch of waugh from gibbs looks suspicious as hell . As if he purposefully dropped it because it was predetermined by bookies aka match-fixing . It is too simple to be dropped like that. And there was match-fixing allegations on Gibbs which makes it really suspicious 🤔.
I strongly disagree for one MAJOR reason. In the first innings Gibbs played like a man determined to win the game. He was the steadying influence in the South Africa innings and scored a century with batters dropping like flies around him. If he was paid for a SA loss he could have just skied one when he was on 11 runs. He was the reason, the game was so hard for Australia to win in the first place. No one who remembers this game being played live, would think like you are thinking, as it doesn't make sense. He was SA man of the match. I don't think there was any scandal at all, but you could more credibly accuse the other 10 South Africans before you could accuse Gibbs. He was the MVP of SA that day
Hey Cricket Lovers🏏, Do you think South Africa would have won the World Cup if they had defeated Australia?
I think Pak would have won
Can you make vide on Dhoni from 2004-2010 which was his prime

Agreed
The nucleus of the all dominating Aussie side, took shape in the 1999 world cup. I agree that Aussies would have been second best.
Greatest Team of the Tournament❤❤❤
Just 1 needed of 3 balls....Donald did not run...Felt sad For Klusner and SA All Time Heart Breaks...😢😢😢

Cannot comment on that but it truly changed the game
