From memory and show conditions… so take with grain of salt… but, the Bokeh open was more mid-focused…where the Dahlia is more balanced… that being said… it would be a fun head2head comparison 🤔

They legit for me are such an easy recommendation… been using these and the Bokeh’s exclusive for the past couple weeks! Some amazing headphones starting to show up in this price range!

On speakers, zero noise! On headphones especially the ones I had on hand the noise floor was noticeable in quiet parts or if nothing is playing. This can be mitigated by swapping in lower gain tubes, and when I did that it dropped the noise floor substantially enough for me not to care about it with my headphones on hand.

It’s definitely something to hear! I’m a big fan of big woofer and horns cause of these.

I only briefly heard the opens… I felt in that short term though that the opens reminded me more of the Auteur classics, but more balanced away from the mids… but take with a grain of salt as it was a brief impression at CanJam

My current favorite all in one that hasn’t left my desk since getting it is the Nitsch Pietus Maximus… I think Nitsch is trying to get another run going soon of those. Outside of that I’d look at JDS labs Element series as a good alternative… Otherwise I enjoy iFi stuff, the Fiio all in ones and some of the SMSL stuff have all performed very well. I’m sure I’m missing some companies, but off the top of my head those come to mind as good jump off points for researching what might work for you

Just tested on my MacBook M1 Max laptop and it worked pretty dang good actually… not the best I’ve heard them… but definitely not the worst… powered them sufficiently enough for me for general listening enjoyment

I think there is a portable amp called Dragonfly, it might give it some extra oump will look if it is compatible, but sounds really great, tbh I am such a novice that I would think it is plenty enough for me. Just on a closing is the Atrium closed still the best ZMF headphones in your opinion?

@ it’s still my most used… the Bokeh’s have been getting a lot of headtime as well… I’d say they are excellent but not on the same level as the Atrium closed

Personally, so take with grain of salt… but I went with the Bokeh’s… Bokeh’s are a better all around headphone that deftly maneuvers through most music genres… balanced and natural sounding. Auteur Classics are very similar, but more mids focused and shine best with songs/genres with more mids focused signatures… that being said… I found them to be excellent in all genres, but feel the Bokeh edges them out in being more versatile in my music listening… Just my opinion, hopefully you can get ear time with both to get a better understanding of how you would like each of them

@ Atrium opens are better across the board regarding capabilities/technical performance… Bokeh’s are just good though and cost half as much… so really just depends on how much you’re willing to pay for better performance in your audio gear :)

@@gavin8489 just how I grew up I guess lol … plus my office is in the opposite side of the house and is either way too hot in the summer … or freezing in the winter… even with heat on or AC… plus it’s just easy to throw on a jacket or sweater :)

Tyler, you know I love your streams and I don't agree that audiophile content has to have perfect audio. Different things. But if you can take 15 min before the stream to fix the mono channel issue, it would be awesome. On headphones left channel only is literally unlistenable. The ears hurt. :)

Hey! Yeah Casey does good work! He built my custom whammy case too! The purple Atriums both closed and open are two of my favorites… ZMF just makes beautiful looking and sounding headphones

Opens are very nice! I found the opens in the brief time listening to them at CanJam to be more mid forward and pardon the phrase but, “Airy” lol 😆 ZMF always seems to just nail it :) I must have missed you at CanJam SoCal :( seems to be my running theme for SoCal CanJam this year for me :(

@@Nephilim-81 concur! It’s a great price performer… though that can be very subjective 🤔 but I do think it’s a great headphone. I think all the ZMFs are generally worth the cost… but I also view them as art as much as audio performance:)

I actually haven’t heard the Qutest… but I love the size of it! And its chord so I’ll probably like it ha That being said, the Cyan2 is very hard to beat

I enjoy them a lot for gaming! One of my main uses for them :) great staging and imaging. Detail is excellent for picking up foot steps in competitive games… and low end and over all sound is immersive for single player games. You can even get the ZMF boom mic cable for them for gaming :)

@ SOLD! I already own the AO and absolutely love them but they aren’t great for gaming especially competitive play. I was debating on adding the VC since I’ve read that have amazing 3D holographic staging/imagining. I appreciate your advice my friend and keep up the great reviews 👏🏼

@@vinnydolce541 if you want the best gaming headphones experience… I would go with the HD800… but that’s specifically for gaming… and it if you have tubes or a warmer amp it can be quite good for music too :)

@ I’ve owned them a long time ago when I dove into this hobby and did not like them for gaming. Stage was over exaggerate it to me and felt like it threw off my positioning

TT2 is a great all in one and is one of the best DACs I’ve used. It’s a smooth and detailed listen. I enjoyed it enough to buy it and have it in my systems for the past couple years.

@ lol yeah regularly… in fact I game with my HiFi more than I listen to music heh 😅 sounds great and works great on PC! Never tried it with consoles….not even sure you can use it with consoles …🤔

Bokeh has a more balanced sound, not as warm… hmmm 🤔 maybe I can do another video quickly comparing all the ZMFs I have on hand at some point!

I’ll see about getting a set in 🤔 they look interesting and the price is appealing
