Great review as always. Thanks. When you reviewing the bokeh? I’m interested in your take on that one.

They are beautiful. I like the wood grain with leather and metal like different textures or layers visually. Just curious what is your opinion on what would be the best all around headphone for various genres of music under $2K and under $1L ? I’m using a Topping DX9 and a Eversolo DMP A8 . AKM chips predominantly .

That’s tough without knowing your preferences, and music genres you listen to… that being said, ZMF Auteur is a solid option (the new model with updated dampening system)… for closed backs I’d look at the Focal lineup…Celestee or Radiance(more low end emphasis)…lots of other options as well maybe the LCD X for planar…
Hopefully those are good jump off research points for you

@@TylersEclectic I’ll try out the ZMF’s but I thought they were more for tube amps . I don’t like over boosted stuff. So many headphones seem to overboost as I think a lot of young people like that with hip-hop and those genres of music I listen to everything except for gangster thug I’m not too much into hip-hop or techno music. But I listen to pretty much everything else, classical opera, classic rock, hard rock Country music that isn’t pop I don’t like pop music. But thank you so much for your feedback. I will try the CMF. I think a lot of my devices are loaded which kind of leads to a warmer sound I believe like a tube does. Thank you so much for the effort you put into your channel. I’m so glad I found you and your channel.

I have been rocking my ZMFs off my Nitsch Pietus Maximus the most lately, so they def sound good with a warmer solid state :) Thanks for the kind words and the conversation!
The Auteurs I think might be the ones for you… but, I’m always cautious recommending things to people… as it’s a lot of money especially for a “blind” or more appropriate “deaf” buy ha! The Focals are great but are more divisive in my experience… good luck with your choice and please do let me know what you land with and your thoughts on it!

I saw in my comments section someone saying I deleted their comments? But the comments aren’t in my studio account. I do have on hold inappropriate comments for my account… so maybe that is the culprit? Anyways, this is not paid content, I have to state that if it is.

Im big into classical piano music, chamber music, opera, orchestra etc and i was considering getting these as a set of headphones for my digital hybrid piano (kawai Nv10s) i wondering if they'd be good for a digital piano

    • @TylersEclectic

Yeah, I think so… I personally really enjoyed piano music with them… but I’m not a pianist or musician… so not sure how a trained pianist would take to them 🤔

I play digital and acoustic piano and compose orchestral and piano music. I have Susvara, HEkSE, Meze Lyric, Meze Lyric 2, LCD-XC 2021, Arya Organic, LCD-2 Classic, LCD-2 classic closed, senn ie900 and Audeze Maxwell. And trust me for reality of hearing NATURAL sound Liric 2 is not the best option. You have to use natural and accurate headphones with high levels imaging and instruments separation. And Susvara and HEkSE are the best options for playing and music creation. Of course with tubes amp and changed pads. Lyric 2 for me is perfect choice only for traveling. And ie900 also great for it.
Liric 1 I try to sell now.
By the way I had NV5 before. Beautiful choice with NV10s my friend.

@@goldenstasgs thanks so much for that, do you think the new DCA E3 would also be a good choice for my digital piano? DMS said in a video that they're the best close back headphone he's ever heard and I think they're quite neutral sounding? Keeping in mind I'd prefer a closed back headphone for practicing on my piano in order to drown out ambient noise in my house while I play

@@kevinmaestrofulI tested e3 for one week. It’s very similar to Emp 2 with frequency response. It has lack of sub bass like Emp 2. In the rest of fr is almost harman curve. But e3, Liric 1/2 is far far away from Hifiman in terms of details, imaging, soundstage and instrument separation. But if you want only closed headphones you have to be ready to sacrifice all advantages of open headphones.
Personally I bought Liric 2 because it suits for travelling with dap. And I use it only for traveling. E3 need much more power and can’t be used with daps.
I use for digital piano Susvara as I told you. But if I need closed headphones for it I use Audeze Maxwell without wires. Because it has usb c transmitter for 0 latency. And you hear sound of digital piano instantly like with wired headphones. And Maxwell are planar headphones and 100% harman curve. Advantages of wireless I like sometimes more than quality.
Usually you can’t use Bluetooth headphones for playing because of 0.2s delay. But Maxwell is exception. It’s game headset with 0 delay from Audeze and for piano playing I rather take Maxwell than wired Liric 2 or E3.
By the way I think Maxwell is the best wireless headphones even better than Bathis.
