I used multiple different amps, from the FiiO R7 to my Chord TT2 … I don’t think they are bad headphones… I just wasn’t “grabbed” by them for whatever reason… so it’s less I think these are bad, and more of a these are good, but I don’t personally prefer them to my other headphones on hand :)
This is probably the first time that I’ve had a disagreement with you! I consider the FT3 to be a better HD 600 Series headphone. Better bass and bigger soundstage. The midrange and treble are very, very similar to an HD 650. It has the same mid centric qualities of the Sennheiser 600 headphones. So unless you’re telling me that you don’t like the Sennheiser’s, I’m not sure that I understand your distaste for the FT3.
Oh I don’t think it’s bad! I just wasn’t grabbed by it, if that makes sense… it’s hard to convey that sometimes … it probably doesn’t help having the 109pro in for demo at the same time… I’m also not a big HD600/650 fan… not because they are bad once again… they just don’t compel me to want to grab them over other headphones I have on hand. :) that’s why I think preferences matter a lot more than measurements in this hobby… everyone hears the same thing different lol 😆 I actually want to talk more on that subject at some point…
@@TylersEclecticGot it! Like I said, as long as your opinion on the two line up, I’m cool with it. I don’t hear them as being as mid centric as you do because of the frequency extension on both ends. I know that I’ve fell out of like with the HD 6XX Series while still recognizing their superiority in the midrange.
@@arthurhaywood2184 yeah, I think the Senns are great for what they are same with the FT3 … they just aren’t hitting my personal preferences… I’ve also been listening to mostly speakers as of late so I’m sure that is coloring my opinion and biases ha
@@bestcocbaseswithlink5069I think that it’s a very good option for someone looking for a headphone in this price range. It’s a well thought out package. Sonically, it’s very similar to the HD 600 Series of headphones in the midrange. Caveats? It needs to be powered properly. It is a 350 Ohm headphone after all. I also don’t think that they are at their best on most solid state amps. Some may find them a bit too forward in the upper mids and treble. Tubes are the way to go with these.
Ha! I actually am looking for more lower priced headphones that will work for me… I think those unicorns are worth searching for :) but yeah, ZMF is my happy place for headphones ha
"....because of how clean they were" *rubs super clean haircut* lol. Interesting headphones for sure. Id like to listen to it but i have a feeling they arent anything special but i dont think theyre supposed to be? Maybe just reference sound
Exactly! I don’t think they are bad at all… just not what I’d grab unconsciously if I had multiple headphones on hand that I liked :) they are rather good, just not my preferred sound
Is this the 300ohm - did you mess with pads and amplification? - think they need a bot of quality power to bring the bass and dynamics.

Try the iBasso SR3 for $599 and Harmonicdyne Athena for like $180 if you're looking for the cheaper "unicorns".
Thank you! I’ll look into them!

@@arthurhaywood2184 I see you in every comment section my man giving high praise for FT3. Is the FT3 that good?
