Hey Tyler, thank you for the impressions and all the outstanding B-Roll footage 😊 Really have to listen to the Bokeh's and can see me finally buying my first ZMF set.. My old ifi xDSD is still working just fine and I even have some shorter custom cables and adapters by Forza Audio, which should fit. Looking very much forward to future Videos! Greets Martin
I've been very tempted to get a pair to complement the Atrium Open. Easier on the wallet too compared to something like the Caldera Closed or the VC, although I really like the tuning of the VC.
Damn dude, you have some amazingly beautiful ZMFs, those Atriums you had a short glimpse of were ridiculous! 😆 Plus the stands, I recognize Casey's work there! I have several also, including a Manzanita burl/resin like the one you showed with the Bokeh. Great stuff, makes the headphones even more beautiful. IDK what to choose with the upcoming ZMF November, Bokeh Open or a nice Auteur! Someday I'll add a Caldera too, but I've already got 4 ZMFs! Keep up the good work Tyler! 👍
Hey! Yeah Casey does good work! He built my custom whammy case too! The purple Atriums both closed and open are two of my favorites… ZMF just makes beautiful looking and sounding headphones
Great review my man! Agree with you that the Bokeh hits such a nice sweet spot. I usually run as bedside headphone (with a very modest Schiit Modi --> Vali 3 rig) or also with the Gryphon on-the-go. They do so many things right and are versatile with so many genres. They're also maybe the best soundstage I've heard in a closed back headphone. They aren't the end-all in resolution, but is way more resolving enough to be enjoyable where I feel like I'm not missing anything. I do find the dynamics compress a bit with very busy music, but that's compared to much more expensive headphones. Really could (should) be a one-and-done headphone for *rational* people.
You’re not alone! I’ve had a few people come through that were audiophiles and non-audiophiles… let them listen to my collection and majority of them chose the Bokeh as a favorite!
Thanks for the review! How would you compare them with the Bokeh Open? I'm in Singapore so haven't had the chance to try them yet. Cant decide to get the Closed or wait for the open.
I only briefly heard the opens… I felt in that short term though that the opens reminded me more of the Auteur classics, but more balanced away from the mids… but take with a grain of salt as it was a brief impression at CanJam
Wait until you hear the Bokeh Open! When I listened to these at CanJam, I was very impressed. They kind of reminded me of a poor man’s Atrium. They didn’t offer the detail of an Atrium but when you accounted for the price difference, I really didn’t care! The only reason I don’t own a pair now is because I heard the open version. Amazing! Also, what really impressed me with these were the dynamics. Very “Focal-like” with a better treble presentation.
Opens are very nice! I found the opens in the brief time listening to them at CanJam to be more mid forward and pardon the phrase but, “Airy” lol 😆 ZMF always seems to just nail it :) I must have missed you at CanJam SoCal :( seems to be my running theme for SoCal CanJam this year for me :(
@@Nephilim-81 concur! It’s a great price performer… though that can be very subjective 🤔 but I do think it’s a great headphone. I think all the ZMFs are generally worth the cost… but I also view them as art as much as audio performance:)
what's up is the chord hugo tt2 worth the price i here so much about it would love to know how it sounds ? and did u try it out by its self with out it connected to anything els?
TT2 is a great all in one and is one of the best DACs I’ve used. It’s a smooth and detailed listen. I enjoyed it enough to buy it and have it in my systems for the past couple years.
@ if u ever need to make room in your set up or you start feeling a little cluttered, I will gladly take chord Hugo tt2 of your hands and I will gladly pay for the shipping 😎
@ lol yeah regularly… in fact I game with my HiFi more than I listen to music heh 😅 sounds great and works great on PC! Never tried it with consoles….not even sure you can use it with consoles …🤔
Exactly what I was waiting for ☕️ Awesome review, thanks Tyler! 🔥 What percentage of improvement would you say there is in an Atrium Closed and Verite Closed compared to this Bokeh? I’m looking for a pair to complement my STAX (great vocals, intimate sound and relaxed) and I’m looking for something that rumbles, punchy, physical bass, with great dynamics. Would it be worth moving up to the level of an AC or VC to reach that quality, or does the Bokeh achieve it perfectly?
That’s tough, hmmm I’d say either the Atrium closed if you want the best version of the Bokeh, but if you want something a little more portable and maybe a bit easier to get along with different gear and just easiest to just relax to, Bokeh… VC and VO are more “similar” to Stax in that they are fast and have really good detail and imaging (not Stax level).
Aeolus is warmer and more chill… think melting into a heated suede lazy boy in front of a fire with a nice lap blanket lol 😆 while drinking a warm beverage of choice lol …
I enjoy them a lot for gaming! One of my main uses for them :) great staging and imaging. Detail is excellent for picking up foot steps in competitive games… and low end and over all sound is immersive for single player games. You can even get the ZMF boom mic cable for them for gaming :)
@ SOLD! I already own the AO and absolutely love them but they aren’t great for gaming especially competitive play. I was debating on adding the VC since I’ve read that have amazing 3D holographic staging/imagining. I appreciate your advice my friend and keep up the great reviews 👏🏼
@@vinnydolce541 if you want the best gaming headphones experience… I would go with the HD800… but that’s specifically for gaming… and it if you have tubes or a warmer amp it can be quite good for music too :)

Thanks Tyler! I’ve also been building out my stereo/ home cinema system for the past months. It’s so addicting 😅 but such a bliss. Bokeh open will definitely go on my shortlist. How have you been lately? Any new hobbies you got sucked in? 😋😋
Bokeh has to be one of the most universally liked headphones. Even Audio Science Review and Wave Theory; both being thorough and objective in their style, praised it.
You should go for the Atrium Closed. I hear the Bokeh is terrible. Or the stabilized resin does something awful to the sound. Or something. Whatever, just don't buy it. (I want less competition for a stabilized Bokeh when ZMF releases them...)
Great job Tyler! I know how much you love this headphone and your passion for this and the hobby shows!
god I am jealous of that color... damn
Me too (although, "envious", would be more accurate).

Thanks Tyler for the dope review - how would you say the Bokeh's compare to the Aeolus? My only pair of ZMFs at the moment?
Bokeh has a more balanced sound, not as warm… hmmm 🤔 maybe I can do another video quickly comparing all the ZMFs I have on hand at some point!

Bokeh are my FAVOURITE pair of headphones of all that I've auditioned!
