I had a really different impression of the dx5 lite! I paired it with my edition xs (for mostly metal music). The crispiness of the music really paired well with the edition xs for me personally. I find that the neutral sound of the unit is really good for metal in that metal already has a lot of energy. Love the review tho!
I can definitely see the appeal in that combo and music genre. Stoked you are enjoying it, that at the end of the day is the most important thing. It’s good to disagree with others opinions, we all have our unique experiences and preferences and it’s important to lean into that to find what we like :) thanks for watching and having a constructive discussion/post on your experience with it! Cheers
JDS labs Element comes to mind, or their entry level gear. Also, this wasn’t a bad DAC amp… it just doesn’t fit my preference. another great combo is the Schiit entry stuff. Maybe swap out the Schiit amp with a Nitsch Piety, if you can find one :) also check out Geshelli labs stuff see if they have a combo in that price point. It’s hard to beat topping at the lower price point stuff though outside the ones mentioned above. Hope that helps a with research on some gear :)
I’m not a huge believer in it actually… but science is science… and materials have different impacts on impedance and/or resistance what have you… which could/can lead to different sounding cables… material science is pretty dope

Don’t mind me, just here for the comments 😂. I heard this amp is great if your favorite music genres are pink noise or test tones.
I really tried to give it a fair shake… part of why it has taken me a minute to get a video out ha
If that's your jam, I've heard there are some great suggestions for discovering your next favorite song over at ASR. 🤣
My favorite track on this amp was Audio Precision's 2kHz Symphony in C.
MQA will rise again….. mark my words…MQA will rise again!!!
🫶🤣
Translation: "This amp is great if you want to take a pile of 💩 and jam it in your ears!" 🤣
any recommendations instead of dx5? in simmilar price range or less, im talking about dac/amp combo

You probably think different cables give you different audio aswell

What do you recommend for 350$ dac/amp or stack comb?
Look at Schiit stacks or AIO. Or JDS Labs stuff :)
