This season just doesn't celebrate chapter 2 like season OG did, because they decided to make artists the focus instead of that era.

(during gameplay ofc) i can get over the collabs, because it is literally just the agency, grotto, and shark with rapper reskins (oh no!!! they look different!!!) if the season has a good lootpool and good map and overall just good aspects that make the damn season playable and good, then ill be fine. with that being said, this season is 99% proof that epic doesnt listen and they dont learn from their mistakes. one of the complaints with season og was that the map wasnt 100% faithful to chapter 1. yes while this new chapter 2 season was marketed as "remix" for a while now, I doubt anyone was expecting snoop and ice spice to get thrown into the game or take over the map. even chapter 5, the chapter that "didn't feel like fortnite" is proof of this for reasons we probably know why (bullet drop, pretty dry colors around the map, some very questionable metas, etc). also before anyone brings up how we just got out of a marvel themed season, that didn't completely slap ads over something old that is very beloved by the community, because i cant find a single person on planet earth who thinks chapter 5 is decent.

This is ironic looking back because we have reload, the new OG mode coming in December, and 3 other battle royale modes in the works for chapter 6. I agree with most of these points when talking about the game as a whole though.

Dude, I started in Chapter 2 Season 7. I experienced peak storyline and am so disappointed now.

I’m enjoying it but would prefer if it was like OG and we got an accurate recreation of the first 3 seasons. I hope the map floods but it probably won’t 😫.

I 100% agree with you. I wouldn't mind if fortnite reimagined the map in their own way, but they decided to just use collabs that dont even fit with the season they're bringing back. I started in Season X so i loved playing during Ch2 S2 and this is a huge disappointment for me. However i do enjoy this lootpool and meta, definitely more enjoyable than any chapter 5 season.

No one is against Fortnite remixing C2 S2 with their original content, people find the unnecessary introduction of collabs distasteful and stupid.

I don't like the fact that this is just Chapter 2 Season 2 Remix, but the people acting like collabs are suddenly now an issue when we literally just left a Marvel season is so funny to me.

I don’t really agree with the point that epic didn’t know what to do with this season or weren’t confident enough in season 2 on its own but I can understand the sentiment that yea, there was a lot more potential here and I’m sad even just items from later in the chapter won’t be getting a chance at returning. Though I did feel the exact same way towards last season’s end event in terms of it being out of touch

Wish we got s3, but oh well.

This season is good, but I do think the lootpool has some issues like the 20 shot grappler, and epic pumps being more common than shields.

I'm just disappointed that season 2 was damn near the only season that they actually represented in this "remix" Okay cool they have a 8ball reskin but 3 out of the 5 skins all being remixes from the season 2 aspect of the 3 seasons and not even 1 skin from season 3 is just lame. Also the amount of times they have made seasons repackaging season 2 chapter 2 is redundant.

This season isn’t bad, because it’s a copy of a great season. But the problem is, it doesn’t innovate at ALL. Unlike Chapter 1 OG, everything feels like an exact copy: the loot pool, the map, the POIs, the weapons, they’re all just reskinned versions of the originals with the same stats and functions. The only 'new' thing they threw in was the broken car jump mechanic. It honestly feels like a cheap, gimmicky version of the original Season 2. If I had to choose between this and the original, I’d pick the original without a second thought, because it actually had some character, unlike this hot mess.

I wanted to get mad at the new season being tainted with collabs, but at this point it just doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Ever since they replaced content with collab shop skins in C2S5 I just knew they were going to pull out any BS theme wise in order to platform more ads, only now people are becoming aware of that decision thanks to the metaverse. At least the season's meta is fun and playable, but it is a bittersweet feeling.

Although my only complaint is the rapper pois, it has grown on me and I'm am enjoying this season

It’s the community’s fault for glazing C2S2 so much that Epic thought it would be perfectly fine to just do season 2 + sprinkling collabs in it. Y’all reap what you sow 🤣

I love the Metaverse.

This Season is great, but it could have been possibly the BEST SEASON OF FORTNITE EVER. When I first heard about Chapter 2 Remix, I thought it was gonna be like an ACTUAL Remix. Like for example, what if the Agency got taken over by aliens? Or what if Weeping Woods was a Primal POI? Just like stuff celebrating the history of Chapter 2. Having these POIs from early Chapter 2 combined with POIs or themes from later Chapter 2. But nah, we just got Ice Spice on The Shark. Overall, this is still a REALLY GOOD Season of Fortnite. I'd say if I had to give it a ranking, it would still be a solid 7.5/10. But, this is more of a concert over top Chapter 2 gameplay than actual Chapter 2.

I get that Fortnite wanted to attract more players since chapter 2 wasn't as popular, but they shouldn't have interfered with Battle Royale. Despite this, I do respect that Fortnite didn't add any annoying new game breaking mechanics or weapons and instead just reskinned the old weapons. (Besides the new vehicle variant and jumping cars)

In my opinion, editing is what creates the huge skill gap. It's necessary for the more complex and advanced editing moves; box fighting, retakes, etc. Doing 90s is easy, ramp rushing is easy, and building a box is easy.

i just want a season OG: Chapter 2 Mix part 2 (Season 5,6,7, and 8)

Honestly trying to imagine chapter 3 as old makes me feel like a grandpa.

Chapter 2 remix is empty and it may sound like I’m complaining but it’s boring… There’s no point giving us chapter 2 remix when we have Reload

What really annoys me with reload (as much as I genuinely love it, usually more than the main br season,) is that it shows directly that epic still knows how to make a map and new poi’s that fit perfectly into that cartoony chapter 1 -3 style. And how to make a good loot pool without making copious amounts of terrible new remakes of beloved weapons and also how to use old poi’s in a new map without them overshadowing everything else. It’s really upsetting to see incredible poi’s like the dock poi and the forest poi on The main reload map and the new mineshaft poi, desert town poi on the new reload map. If epic could just make a map using the chapter 3 graphics with the reload style poi’s with a few old poi’s mixed in every now and again without flooding the map with collaborations or new poi’s meant to be more realistic or formulaic for a battle royale game that goes through minimal changes throughout the entire chapter (pleasant piazza for example) would be so much better for the game and to see epic showing their capabilities of doing that and their understanding that players want that, to see them not do it to their core game mode is sad.

Had a lot of fun with the Fortnite OG thing they did. Made me not only comeback to the game but I found myself playing it regularly throughout November. Wish it came back
