    I feel like even without Turbo Building, the community would still find giant work arounds, so even if someone hated Turbo Building somehow, and it was removed, it wouldn't matter. And even then, people like that should be playing Zero Build. this is a great video btw, I agree entirely.

    Turbo building didn't shock wave the skill of players
    But playground and creative did

    Before I respond, I'm a C1S4 player and can do all the crazy building. With that out of the way:
    1. People used to build forts. It wasn't just some idea. Yes, people could be aggressive, but near the last few zones, it was common to see people camping fortresses. So that argument holds weight.
    2. I think it's way too late to just be deleting turbo building. I wouldn't even want that at this point.
    3. I am interested in how different the game would be now, if turbo building never existed.
    Honestly, I think that would've led to less need for AI bots and SBMM, because the skill gap would be much smaller.
    I also think Epic would've focused more on fun vehicles and meta shaking items, such as was the focus of Chapter 1.
    Basically, I think this would've led to a much more varied and fun experience. Fortnite often feels stagnant and repetitive these days.
    The meta in builds has been the same since the world cup days. The same build, edit, tag someone and push through their box crap for 6 years.
    The same lobbies that have at minimum 25 bots and all players near your skill level, which is boring.

      I would think that if Fortnite never added Turbo building, the highest level of Fortnite combat would consist of assaulting your mouse to get the same result as with Turbo Building in the game now.

      1. People were bad and being in a fort is camping and was super OP at the time.
      2. They tried it in season X and yep, I and everyone else hated it.
      3. Bad. It would suck lol. The comp scene would be very unimpressive and cheaters would be such a common problem due to autoclickers.
      Less need for ai/SBMM? There was never a need. It killed fortnite for me.
      Focused more on fun things? Nope. Broken items aren't fun. Reserve that for LTM's where you go in wanting chaos, there it is fun.
      Varied and Fun experience? How? How would spam clicking be more fun and less repetitive?
      The meta has NOT been the same since world cup. Not even close! Pushing someone doesn't take 6 years... that's a skill issue.
      25 bots and players near your skill level... wouldn't of changed. EVERY game does this now, it isn't a fortnite thing.

    ima be honest I love turbo building and what it's done, but for someone who doesn't really have all too much time to improve I'm not really able to adapt to the level players are today. I think the best solution to keep players who WANT building but don't want to get pieced to oblivion is to add a SEPERATE MODE where turbo building is removed, like no build.
    For people like me this would be perfect. I play builds most of the time since I enjoy building, I like being able to protect myself with these builds but I hate getting absolutely bodied by someone who grinded mechanics when I don't have the time to improve upon it, I love build fights but sometimes I'd just rather the game would feel alot more relaxed, so I go to no builds but find that I get killed even faster due to the limitations in non-item protection available.
    This would remove the need to add these overpowered counters to building as people could just go to that if they wanted, allowing them to potentially add more enjoyable things to the game, even if they didn't I believe it would cater quite well to people who want that sort of OG feel to their gameplay, or just a more relaxed mode than builds.

    I used to think that removing turbo building would help the game in my eyes. But after this video is realized that it wouldn’t solve the deep rooted problems with the game. I miss the days when building was a defensive tool and not a offensive tool, but I don’t think those days will ever return. The closest we’ll ever get is using port-a-bunkers in zero build. But zero build also has its problems, mostly inventory management. I think zero build should have an extra inventory slot just for defensive/utility items.

    I feel like if Fortnite added a proper tutorial mode for new players to learn how to build effectively and made the combine ltm from season x into a permanent mode, then it wouldn't be no such need for skill based matchmaking and Fortnite adding different overpowered items to the game such as the mechs, the avatar mythics, the moddable cars, the infinity blade, and several other things that makes it really easy for bad players to win over actual good players. it would be more fair and balanced which would make both sides happy and make newer players have an more effective way to get better at the game

    I dislike building in its current state for many reasons but removing turbo building is stupid. It's important for accessibility. The issues with building generally comes down to editing having zero cooldown and building generally not having any constant counter other than building. Any anti building tool gets nerfed because of complaints because of people not willing to adapt to a new playstyle

    turbo building made fortnite more tryhard, thats a fact, im currently playing ezfn, a launcher where you can play season 4 from chapter 1, there is a slowed down turbo building and its so fun...
    Also skill based matchmaking helped in killing fortnite alongside all the fast edit mechanics.
    Thats only the start, when they added all the boring mechanics from chapter to chapter it became worse and worse.
    So indeed turbo building helped to kill fortnite, and there should be a separate game mode or something like that that has no turbo building

  • @esifo_
    @esifo_ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    imo I think the answer is yes and no. def agree that turbo building is a good QOL feature and was a good addition but I think the game would have been better for having a slower placement speed when turbo building first got added (simmilar to how they tried nerfing it in seasons X maybe not as slow) the skill gap and building skills would probably still be good but i think the skill gap wouldnt be as big. epic trying to slow it down after years of getting used to the speed is just impossible u just cant take away something like that but if we never got it as fast in the first place we would have never known

  • @FallingDraco
    @FallingDraco 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Well, this was bound to happen. For so long now, EpicGames has tried many times to nerf building, like in Chapter 1: The SMGs, the nerf to turbo builds, and the Mechs. To the present, we have the new buff for cars plus car attachments, along with nitro.
    I've played many games over the years, and nerfing or tempering with the fundamental mechanics of any game will cause it to die.
    Fortnite is Fortnite, and the little Timmy and the heads at Epic will not understand that.

    • @FallingDraco
      @FallingDraco 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As for solutions to this issue: a proper tutorial for new players to build or no build, rather than just bot lobbies. A proper competitive-ranked mode away from standard pubs. No build, and builds have different loot pools to suit each mode and their playerbases.

    Ping is the worst thing when it comes to turbo build because it doesn't matter who has more skill they can just take your wall that's why I didn't learn turbo build and found it lacking substance when every fight at the end of the day is who's fastest rather than aim or familiarity with the current item pool

  • @asap2713
    @asap2713 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The solution isn't as simple as removing turbo building, the issue is that both building and editing are way too fast for the average player, which is why we should have a game mode with a limit of structures that you can place in one second the same with editing which in my opinion would be a way better alternative than zero build which makes itself and normal br suffer from the fact that you can't make a map that would be good for both of these gamemodes this would create a barrier between the casual players who would be fine with having these functions limited and tryhards would leave the gamemode alone because of them. Ideally, this mode would be playable on the chapter 1 island that would rotate loot and map changes every couple weeks, so it wouldn't get stale

    i think building is fine editing is the problem if you look at all the stupid clips of coked up kids or teens building like crazy it all revolves around editing so if they nerfed editing it would still allow for cool builds and holding boxes etc but you couldnt edit 25 builds instantly sure it may hurt getting out of towers if you cant spam through but the pros would out weigh the cons
