The Round Mound of Zepbound is a vlog of my weight loss journey on Zepbound/tirzepatide.
I am a former D1 college football player that became sedentary due to football injuries and working in an office setting for over 25 years.
After numerous surgeries on my hips and back to get moving again, I opted for a lap band surgery to help manage my weight. After that was unsuccessful, I moved onto a vertical gastric sleeve. This was a more successful surgery which promoted 90 pounds of weight loss.
Then the pandemic hit and I worked from home for over a year and a half, which made snacking and grazing on junk more accessible. I also cancelled my gym membership. This all resulted in gaining over 50 pounds back.
After numerous diets, including keto, I’ve opted for the use of weight loss medication.

That's great. I need to find out if they ship on ice pack using a next or two day courier
May depend on the pharmacy. Mine (tirzepatide) was shipped overnight on ice pack from one pharmacy and my lipo-b was 2 night in a cooler with ice packs.
Very nice!!
Thanks!
Look at you go. 225 here it comes
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Hi round, how has your use of alcohol of any sort changed as you’ve been on this journey?
Whiskey guy here. Haven’t had a sip of that or anything else in my collection since starting. I did have a drink on our anniversary back in June, but just haven’t really thought about it. Can’t say if it’s the meds or my focus to get to my goal or both.
@@RoundMoundofZepbound me too. I haven’t quit altogether but my social drinking is way down. Likely a combination of both.
Incredible that your first shipment & the freeway would be shut down would coincide!!!! Thankfully a porch pirate didn't get your package and your friend could help you retrieve it and store the medication before it got hot. Glad you had a great experience with IViM. Looking forward to seeing your next videos. Take care!
I know, right? Also that the heat didn’t get to it!
This is going to be a great journey to find what maintenance land looks like and how these meds can help with quality of life. Thank you for being at the forefront of this and letting us know what’s happening;
My guy! 🙏🏽
Thank you so much from those of us who are on compounds. Having competent options gives us such peace. In the beginning our choices were very limited. This changes the game.
Absolutely does!
Woo hoo that’s incredible!!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Yeah I did too..and then the broader area, and then to larger cities several hours away. I think I am in a DEXA Desert.
Dang
Great video! Congratulations on your progress. I have been on wegovy for 15 months. I just switched to the trizeptide compound last week. Thanks the motivation 🎉
Thank you and welcome to team tirzepatide!
I have been looking for a scan in my area and can’t find any that are not multiple hundreds of dollars at hospitals. I have reached out to several that are a few hours away, but have not heard back. 😢
I hope you are able to find one. I just typed into Google DEXA Scan and my city
Giving you and your family my condolences 💐 Sorry to hear about the Zepbound shortages.. maybe it’s meant for you to go on the compound 🤷🏽♀️. In any case, sending well wishes on your journey with the new medication. Congrats 🎉 on your weight loss, especially with all the temptation around you. I officially lost a little over 50 pounds!!! 51.3 to be exact 🤗 Thank you for the update 🙏🏽
Thank you and congratulations on your success! 51.3 is huge! Keep up the good work!
You’re welcome! 🙏🏽😊👊🏽
I had the same issue with cvs, try Sams club or Costco. I had no problem getting it from Sams. You’re doing great!
Thank you! This is the first time CVS hasn’t been able to get me my meds within 2-3 days. Now the hold up is my doctor.
How have you known when to increase your dose Was it food noise increase or just a schedule?
I just had a plan to get to 10 because it showed nearly as much weight loss as 15. Getting to 10 would also mean that I had 2 more doses to increase should I need to. Looking back, I could have stayed on 5 and 7.5 longer than I did.
Congrats. Looking forward to your feedback on compound medication. Sending you positive thoughts as well. Losing someone has different impacts at different times. Best and hugs to you and your family.
RMZ.. you’re doing great! You’re constantly changing the game and having detours along the journey. I can’t wait to see how you traverse the compounded experience and see how your body handles it. I think that it’s smart to stockpile your meds while you figure out what maintenance will look like for you. My condolences for your loss and happy you were able to spend time with loved ones. Congrats on the new partnership and exploring more tools for healthy progress. You keep encouraging folks and it’s great that you have a tool now to help people achieve their goals.
Thank you and thank you for always cheering me on! 🙏🏽
Sorry for your loss. 🙏🏾 Thanks for the update. You’re doing great.
Thanks so much Twaun!
Lol, yeah, I'm about to have some nachos and a mixed drink. Im scared but going to take the risks since I normally eat healthy lol
Live it up a little! 😂
@RoundMoundofZepbound 😂😂😂 my stomach already bubblin lawd I might be in some trouble 😭

Thanks for the video. I knew it was going to be a bit later this week, it was worth the wait. You are my weekly motivation. I will be 4 months on Rybelsus 7 mg as of Aug 12. I’m currently just shy of losing 50 pounds. Take care
Thank you so much for the kind words! Also congratulations on the 50 (I’m sure you’ll get it soon!) 🙌🏽
Great consistency. Is your newer scale providing consistent measurements beyond weight? As I recall, your fat percentage from your old scale was way off from the DEXA test.
Yes, the new scale is doing great. I expect to switch to it completely once I hit goal (hopefully next week).
This is great dor someone considering starting in this journey. It is also amazing fot those of us already on the path. It encourages us, it motivates us and I thank you so much for sharing.🙏🏽
Absolutely!
You remind me that the drug is a tool just like a shovel. It makes it easier to pick up dirt, but you still have to work.
Absolutely! I hope many other adopt this mindset!
It's absolutely amazing 👏🏾. I love the one step at a time attitude to complete the journey
It has been essential for me!
Amazing can I ask a question are you still on Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Medication?
Thank you! I wasn’t on any meds. My doctor wanted to put me on some but I talked her into waiting to see what Zepbound would do. She says things have changed so drastically that she no longer is even thinking about them for me.
This is the first video I am watching of yours. I have to say you look Amazing, brother. Not just from the weight loss but you look healthier. Good for you and bless you on your journey.
Thank you and thank you for popping in to watch and comment! I appreciate it. Hope you stick around! 🙏🏽
Congratulations on your incredible success.
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Just started my journey. I was at 317 (6'3'') at Aug 2023. Down to 295 today. I lost the 22lbs on my own (changed up eating habits) and walk at least 5 miles a day. Started my Wegovy injection this past Sunday (#1). I had been athletic all my life , played sports as a youth. Joined the military at 17, and did 27 years. Now I have all of these ailments, back , feet, knees, so I cant do a whole lot of things that I use to could do (weight lifting, running etc). I just want to say that you are an inspiration. I kinda laughed when you said that your dad said that "you cant leave the table until you have finished all of your food"...mine was the same way!...again thanks for your transparency and good luck with the goal that you are trying to achieve.
Your story sounds very similar to mine in terms of being an athlete and all the ailments. Even our starting weights are close. Congratulations on getting started and on your success so far!
Wow 🎉👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Amazing results. Great job!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
@@RoundMoundofZepbound YW
Were you on 10 mg for 3 months or 6?
I haven’t completed my 3 months yet. Still have 3 more pens of it. Have a refill pending
@@RoundMoundofZepbound i have done almost 3 months myself. Have an opportunity to do a 90 day supply if I can find 3 boxes. Kinda nervous if 10 mg could hold me over for another 3 months. Would like to lose another 30 lbs. can move up if i wanted to but wouldn’t want to. waste any either during a shortage.
YES!!!!!! I love this!
🙏🏽 thanks for the inspiration!
You look awesome man…I’m down 45 myself. You are inspiring and motivating
Thank you and congratulations on your loss! Keep up the great work!
❤ great job. Your updates have been illuminating and inspiring.
Thank you so much!
Awesome. For those of us who have to use compounds having choices is key
Absolutely!
I’m so sorry for your loss. 😢
Thank you so much 🙏🏽
I love the Durhams! One of there recent livestreams is how I found out about your channel! I am also playing catch-up with their videos, so I will keep an eye out for that interview!
Great people!
Congrats on the opportunity to being help and support to others who are on this journey.
Thanks again for your continued support! 🙏🏽
Found it!!! Thanks ❤
Great!
Happy (belated) birthday!!
Thank you!!
Wow that downward graph is amazing! So steady! Great job!! ❤
Thank you! I see you’ve made it to week 19!
Haha yep. 😂👍🙌
Would it be crazy to go down to 200?
I wouldn’t say it would be crazy. I just don’t want to go below 215 personally. I think going below that would be too small for me.
I lost 80lbs since February. Just drinking water and eating once a day. I need to get to 300 for a hip replacement. I’m 345 now
Can you do maybe some videos of your workout routine . A day of your eating routine showing the meals.
I did a “what I eat in a day” video. You can find that in my Shorts section. It is a sampling. I focus on a low card, high protein bariatric diet. So it has what a typical day may look like. Hope that video helps. Comment on that video and let me know. I’ve had a few people ask about workouts. I’ll have to think about that. I’m generally in the gym before work with a limited window to get my workout in, get home and walk my dog, and get ready for work. I’m also not big on cameras or recording in the gym, so will have to see how to best do it.
Wow! You are making great progress! I love your channel and am working my way from beginning to current. Keep up the good work!
Thank you and thank you so much for watching! 🙏🏽
That is fantastic that you were able to get your boxes!!! Good thinking on getting the prescriptions for both strengths and calling around.
Up for a refill now and hope it doesn’t take too long. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏽
Woop Woop!!
🙌🏽
Wow!!! You pay $25 for 3 months???!!??? That is amazing. Until I switched to compound at $179 per month, I was paying $550 per month (insurance doesn’t cover ANY weight loss medications). I hope you are able to stay on the name brand to keep that sweet price!!
Very thankful that my insurance covers it (for now) and the savings card knocking the price down. I hope one day that all insurance companies/employers cover this game changing medication! I hope you are doing well on your journey!
Get it! Just spent 2 hours a the gym . Weights and cardio. Cheers to an amazing week.
You too!! 💪🏽
There's been a lot of scare tactics used about the latest study. Maybe it's actually good news and it could help make the drug more accessible.
Lots of scare tactics. These medications do so much and are promising in many other areas. They will only get better!
Man, I’m so proud of this phase of your journey. You’re accomplishing some great results from all of the hard work and dedication to this process. People looking at your results think that you have it easy, but man I know you have been THROUGH IT. Congrats on staying with it. I know you will come up with a game plan for maintenance phase of treatment. Did your recent DEXA Scan help you decide your goal/target weight? I have never heard of the “at home” sleep study. Please share the results and how that process was. I hope that you can get rid of the CPAP 100%. With the weight loss, how do you feel after sleeping? Are you energized? I struggle with daytime sleepiness (a lot better now that I’m losing weight), but some days it’s rough. Shout out to the wife for pulling you towards this phase of your life. She is helping you live in the NOW and celebrate where you are. Can’t wait for the shopping haul of the new drip now that your clothes are all donated. Make sure you get some hoodies for when the house gets too cold. Your skin and bones now so you need to have something warm when the AC is BUMPING. Hahahahahahaa.. I kid, I kid. 😂😂😂 Condolences to you and your family. This is a tough time and know you have a community that’s here sending thoughts, prayers, and support. Reach out if you need a listening ear. Congrats on blowing through your micro-goals and pivoting and establishing some new ones. Can you offer some tips on how to create/establish/track micro-goals?
I had heard of at home studies, but I always wondered how effective they are since facility studies are such a big production. All the wires they connect to you. I do feel sleepiness but I am not sure if that is related to my sleeping habits or not. I get like 6 to 6.5 hours of sleep typically. When I can get to 7, I am generally in good shape. Funny thing is, my wife be talking about she's hot now. 😂 Thank you so much for the condolences. I may make a video about micro goals.
Just watched all of your videos. Thanks for sharing your experience so far. As a man taking a GLP1, I am constantly searching for another male (especially a black male) perspective on this subject. Keep up the great work. Much appreciated.
Thanks for watching! When I started, I was looking for the same. So I decided to try to be that for others! 👊🏽
2024 is one that will go in your record books! Awesome success and you have worked steady & consistently to get to where you are today! So proud for you and looking forward to learning even more from you as you head into your maintenance phase in the very near future!
Thank you so very much. I am excited about the challenge of maintenance!
Watching your journey is so encouraging. I still have a long way to go, but you give me hope that I can get there, too. I also have micro goals. Checking them off along the way helps me feel a sense of accomplishment each time. My sincere condolences on the loss of your grandfather.
I think micro-goals have been instrumental to my success. Checking something off every 5-10 pounds makes me feel that I am accomplishing something and keeps me focused. Especially when the larger goal is so far away. Thank you for the condolences! 🙏🏽
