You ask what games did have an Impact on us well I tell you every game ready The first one is God of War 2018 after this come God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring was super fun too and don't forget all the RE Remakes they just amazing TLOU 2 was an amazing game too and of course the Uncharted trilogy what else do we got Nioh 2 Horizion Zero Dawn was good too, RDR2 of course, the Spider-man games was amazing too oh and did I name the Batman games too well now I did, The Dark Souls trilogy because they just make fun do you even know Hellblade I guess not because this game is amazing too oh Devil may Cry 5 was very good too Alan Wake 2 is just Amazing if you even know the game I guess you get the point so just a little tip for you from me sometimes its better to think before speaking oh and a another master piece is Lies of P

To me Mario’s definitive era has to be the NES right around Super Mario Bros. 3. The games up to that point are all classic but even looking past the games, Mario’s name alone just printed money. He even had his own cereal and multiple Saturday morning cartoons

Sonic's definitive era was on the Genesis/16-bit. Not to say Dreamcast era Sonic wasn't good, but I just don't find myself going back to play those games as much as I play the original 2D games. We even got Sonic Mania later on, which was a throwback to the 16-bit era, also being one of the most successful recent Sonic games. Pretty much proving that Sonic is best in 2D.

I don't like that so many new games feel more like movies than games to me. I like good stories in videogames but I would prefer if the publishers only did this with RPGs and not with so many other games. I don't need tons of lore for a game that is just about killing aliens for example. Just give me a character who wants to save the earth for example and let's go. All I need is a good gameplay and a reason to play the game because I want to play a GAME when I insert a game in my console. I don't want stuff like walking sections where you just hold up and the characters talk. It's just boring in my opinion and one of the main reasons why the new God of War games disappointed me so much. I forced myself to play through the first new God of War game because I love the old entries in the series but I quit God of War Ragnarok because it's just so boring in my opinion. However I always come back to the old God of War games and still love them. I would also love if more games had just cutscenes between levels. That would be okay in my opinion. But I don't want the gameplay getting interrupted all the time by dialogues, videos and so on.

I aggree with you. Too much of something (walking/running..) is going to ruin the game. Yes its nice to showcase the environment, but it gets boring sometimes..game devs needs to balance it a bit.. Im currently playing Tales of * series (vesp, symph, arise), and im loving every aspect of it. Gameplay, story, skits, worldmap and exploration.

I'm totally agree with your definitive eras from Crash Mario and Sonic ! I don't think this current era can top adventure era (maybe if they remake SA1/SA2 and make a new adventure game), but I think it's still the best era for Sonic after adventure era. And for Mario games, with retrocompatibility, we have also Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, who is probably the peak of the Paper Mario franchise, Gamecube and Wii were absolutely amazing for Mario !

I am very certain that TLoU or the GOW Sequals are not an example of modern gamings problems. Whilst it seems that the Sonic franchise ist the pinnacale of gaming for you, i will still enjoy the "mediocre" and "Oscar-baiting" (the hell is this even supposed to mean) games. I am sorry for you that we are not living in the timespan of 2005-2014 anymore, since your taste of gaming has not developed yet. I am pretty shocked about the amount of people agreeing with you. You guys need to understand that games or art in generell which you did not enjoy do have to be bad. Has to be the most short bus take i've ever seen dude. TLOU didn't ruin gaming. Fun is subjective. You're tryung to cast blame on a game and it's sequel for gaming being ruined? Dude, if you don't like TLOU, that's fine, no hate. But don't cast blame on the games because you don't bother looking at ither factors that can easily affect the games that are developed and published. Like look at Call of Duty. Call of Duty used to be good. Now it's just straight trash. TLOU was good and I enjoyed TLOU II as well. You really need to think before you make a video like this. If you want games you enjoy, go find them and play them.

I think you forgot about the original Resident Evil 4 which started the over-the-shoulder camera. Last of Us wasn't the first to do it. A lot of people prefer this type of gaming.

I really feel Mega Man’s hayday on the NES is overhyped, And people misunderstood the series’ true artistic intent and identity for years despite the PS1 era being the most accurate to that intention. Mega Man 9 and 10 regressing all the advancements made from 4 through 8 especially ended up making me question if I was even truly a fan of the series to start with as it went back to some of the worst game design philosophies of 1 and 2.

I don't mind movie like interactive games but these days they're too excessive, almost every game you look at today has TLOU like over the shoulder view and mechanics I totally agree that TLOU did ruin gaming but you can't really blame it and you can't deny that TLOU has an incredibly well written story (not TLOU II imo) and gameplay but now since almost every single game has this kind of gameplay style and mechanics I can see how some may find them boring

I wont touch Movie games and bloated massive open world games anymore. Movie games are boring, open world games just feel like checklists and doing the same thing over and over for 80hrs

I respectfully disagree. I actually enjoy this type of gaming. I play for the interactive story and I have a lot of fun with the gameplay. It's just a different style. Different things are liked and disliked by different people. To say that TLOU ruined gaming is in my opinion a very subjective thing to say. I think its just the times. And yes, a lot of people enjoy this gaming and the developers will do what makes them money.

Death Stranding is great, but a little slow. Days Gone is great, and the gameplay is fun. God of War/God of War: Ragnarök are both really fun, and the gameplay is very smooth. I understand complaining about "game movies", but these examples aren't. They are movie games, or games that PLAY like a move. Keyword is "play".
