The gameplay was awful, but I still love Mephiles and even the story. How everything connects in each version of the story. Mephiles purposely sent Silver and Blaze to attack Sonic and he most likely knew it wouldn't work, but it would create an adventure, a bond between Sonic and Elise so Mephiles can come in at the right moment to set off the Iblis Trigger.
Mephiles the Dark is my Favorite Sonic Villain, even since in 2011 when I started to learn the Internet and Sonic Clip, the moment I saw Mephiles having the Purple Chaos Emerald it forever sealed my mind, Mephiles is the Brain of Solaris and while Iblis is the Power, Mephiles is perhaps the most dangerous of the two halfs as when you think about it the Humans that experimented on a Flame that’s literally the Sun God and a Interdimensional God of Time in the Solaris Project broke One to create Destruction and the other into Madness, Mephiles not only can create Dark Contructs but also manipulate Time with or without a Chaos Emerald in Theory, he also a Manipulator as he try to trick Shadow to join him but in reality he despises him with a dying passion and would probably destroy him if his plan Failed just like tricking Silver Failed even with him wanting to eliminate the Iblis Trigger when it was Mephiles all along, he’s also Sadistic and Violent as Shadow describes him as his Only Lust is to reunite with Iblis with a Crave for Destruction to Time, he’s the Only Villain that both Killed Sonic (Which it possible that Mephiles used Chaos Control to froze time that could explain why the Sky was Purple and Sonic wasn’t Fast Enough with the Element of Surprise)and was this close to Win, has a Creepy Design, Voice, Tone, and Themes that make him stand up for any Villain in the Franchise, and is Perhaps the Most Highly Requested and High Demanded Sonic Character to Return and Sega and Sonic Team knows this, it’s Unknown if Mephiles will return in some Different Way, Shape, and Form but if he does then I will be happy as 06 has so many great moments and Created Fan Favorites like Mephiles and Silver plus his Songs are Nightmarish and Amazing.

In some way mephiles won. He just wanted to join with iblis and thats it. Ofc he still lost as Solaris. But in some way he did win.
