My good friend Pat came up with this idea, he also built the diner cars Pat was also responsible for The Christmas train, , Pat is a very good modeler and has 2 layouts, The layout seen here is South Counties Railway, the other which can be viewed on the Christmas Video on my channel is named Zummerzet & Dorzit. I hope viewers will enjoy our collaboration.

Christmas Collaboration

My very good friend Pat, had this idea, he also built the train, he also gifted the train to me once all the filming had been done. I set it to music, as this loco is a bit noisy, Lasting around 15 mins, this is a Christmas Collaboration between Pat and myself, I will not profit from the music used in the film, as I do not monetise my channel. Lawnsgate Farm

This wonderful gift was given to me by my friend George Nolan, it is a re-creation of a real farm, George visited as a boy. There are no trains running in this video just different views of the Diarama. It's set to music, I will not profit in any way from the music used in this film. Intended for those over 13 yrs of age.
Sparrows and a Tiny Guest

5th of May was a dull, boring old day, I'd had my second Covid jag, Couldn't go to the shed because the weather is still being unkind to us up here, so i set up the camera to have a look at the sparrows in the garden, I was also playing World Championship Snooker for PS1 which can be heard on the video at times

I don't deal in Hornby anymore. Not for a time. The build those crappy Hitachi 800 ugly Azuma's class. I prefer my Athearns GP 40-2 Rocky Mountaineer loco. I also deal in Atlas & Kato American stuff! Much better than the British stuff.
Great video 👍
In my experience, you don't need the sponge behind the plastic. Just keep it under slight compression at the ends so it pops up just above rail level. It'll be enough to lift the hooks without risk of derailment etc. when travelling forward.
Best advert on this by far is the yellow page one 😊
Great video bi have the same train and I personally think there beautiful and brilliant and they run so well. Good luck with your trains sending regards from London
I like the way your tension lock couplings make the sound of wind chimes when travelling over the uncouplers, you are dead clever coming up with that design,
Why is it only Hornby?
Wow, quite a disclaimer in the infosection.
Hi Mark only seen your video now good work and show hope you're good and well cheers Patrick Quinn IRL
Hi Mark Sorry to trouble you, I notice Barrie Davis channel has gone again. Have you any news on him ( i know he has had issues lately). Thank you
Very interesting, what size is your layout and shed? 26:20
Great video, I like your attitude lad.
LESS THAN £5 WOW
How affordable were the prices mentioned at the time? Despite Lima having a bigger range of modern image trains, they never advertised! Those adverts are a nice reminder if yesteryear.
Brilliant video Mark. Thanks.
Hi Mark!! How sweet is this? Loved the song, too. How are you doing? Hello to Jane! Take care, Holly♥️
I have this modle but in apple green with the number 8509 and when i bought it there was no motor
I would get the catalog but never bought any trains as a kid. Looked for Cuneo mouse on the cover. £5 for a basic layout was like a weeks wage in the 1960's. My "2/6" went on Airfix kits. Time when i would cycle to the model shop.
that`s great fun Mark...It looks rather like my new layout !!!....News of which to come !
I have one of these. It will also run on any 12mm. guage TT / H0m / 00y track.
Lovely to watch Mark, I have missed your videos.
Thanks Philip, there will be more as and when I'm able
Hi Mark, any news on Barry?

thanks Mark, I hope all is well at your end, yes it's been a while, I had to make major repairs to the shed. It and I are still standing, cheers Mark
Great stuff, a 73 to Crew!
In our world of toy trains, any class of engine can go to any destination. the imagination has no borders, cheers Mark
Nice see you mark running train s thanks lee
Hi Lee, I hope you are doing well, and the loft is progressing, cheers for now, Mark
Nice to see you on again Mark, I like the coach's
Thanks, they are a wonderful gift
Well, well, well, Mark, what a refreshing change. Just came across your video and really loved your 'no nonsense', attitude to railway modelling. Good old fashioned 'spit and polish' way of thinking. I'm impressed with your homemade uncouplers. Thankfully I haven't ballasted my sidings yet, so I'm going to experiment with your cost effective idea and attempt to make some. Am I right in thinking that you have to have room to move the load backward beyond the uncoupler, when connecting, before bringing them out?? Keep on shunting pal, cheers, Rick the Bulldog.
As a Yank, I really enjoyed peering into the British history of model trains via these vintage commercials. Seems like the fun and nostalgia of model trains spans oceans and borders!
I totally understand dude, because in my videos, I use music and still you can hear the trains go!🚂🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞
That is brilliant
My interest in British trains grew exponentially when I received a Hornby live steam Mallard for Christmas! I’ll never part from it. 😊
Nice video!! Very engaging from beginning to end 👍👏👍👏👍👏!! Need likes? -> Promo>SM.
i have great difficulty knowing where my stick is each morning mark, and am always confused....lovely to see.....hope all`s well.....just found this video by accident again.....ade
Hi Ade all is well here. As I said he's a wonderful friend, he's just not very good at being a Dog, he doesn't beg either. And balls are a mystery to him, but for all his faults he's one hell of a friend. cheers old pal I hope you are doing well.
@@Markintheshed hi mark.....all good thanks..am off this week...will drop u an e mail at some point over the next week....
Great to see Archie enjoying himself, Chester my dog loves balls either chasing them and bringing them back or finding balls other dogs have lost and on a couple of occasions stealing them. Lovely video. Cheers Grahame
Thanks Grahame, Archie has no idea what a ball is for, the last one he had, he chewed till it split in two, However on his walks he likes sticks best, and he has also murdered many leaves, cheers Mark
good vid mark thanks four the good vid on the channel thanks lee
Cheers Lee, hoping you are doing well
Wonder if these were ever sold in America
Hi Mark, hope you had a great Christmas, certainly a colourful train, did the loco start life as a Hornby Ivatt class 2mt?, just liked and subbed, anyway, Happy New Year, stay safe, all the best from (North-East) Scotland, Stephen, p.s. my club will be at Modelrail Scotland in Glasgow, if you are there, hopefully we'll be able to have a chat, (fingers crossed it goes ahead).
Well I am about to go and wire my Gaugemaster combi controller to the track. A nice simple single line track with passing loop and inner siding
Merry Christmas and even Happier New Year, great video with some great music and no sign I'm glad to say of a Coca Cola .
Thanks Grahame, Festive greeting from Darkest Fife.
'Brilliant!'. Hope you have a good Christmas, when if comes, providing worzel doesn't cancell it. Will you be making further videos in the new year? Regards Nigel
Thank you Nigel, I will be making more video's, as and when the weather allows. All the best, Mark
Thank you for posting this video, Mark. It is a brilliant concept and very well presented. The first time I have ever seen a 'Santa Special' train on a model railway. They are fairly normal occurrences on Heritage Railways of course but yours is really Special. What an amazing idea! Hoping you have a Blessed and enjoyable Christmas and an excellent Hogmanay to follow. All the very best to you and yours. Thanks again. Bob.
Many thanks Bob, I wish you all you would wish yourself. let's hope that 2022 is a better year for us all.
