44 lbs is a lot for some, but for most healthy males who workout, it just isn't going to cut it unless you are doing some really funky functional training accessory movements. Really thorough review!

Ive been on the fence about it, I’ve got a 29mm Texas power bar that is on the edge of aggressiveness I want, when I load it up heavy it bites hard, especially in the neck/shoulders for squats. It’s a great bar but can be a little over the top. Your review got me to bite the bullet and get one in all stainless… but I failed and forgot to use the affiliate link 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thank you for the great review on it, I won’t forget on the next bar I pick up.

Definitely a more budget friendly option to the Voltra. Obviously not as intricate but seems to be a great option.

Yeah, that’s a nice strong man hack I wouldn’t expect anything less from a Stongman, but it does bring up a good point that if they could make like a XL version and then have that a little bit larger, you could get the single weight ro like 88 pounds and then you could still double that with your hack and probably get a little bit longer cable travel in the process. that might be a real game changer

With these it’s always the durability. Your hack make this unit more interesting but can the housing endure this additional force in the long run? For this price I can pick up 2 Kynett home. I think flywheel will be more durable.

Owning one and after hanging the outer shell, I can tell you the internal of the REP soft plyo box is 3/4" plywood. It is every bit as stable as any standard game box.

Fast forward 2 years with all the innovation in the jammer/iso/lever arm space… do you still recommend these as highly?

I have that bar in stainless with stainless sleeves. It did have a half inch straight etch on the outside of the collar, but Rep gave me a $25 gift card and it does not affect function. This bar may be a better bar than my Ohio Power Bar.

It's nice but I would pay £150 max for it. Insane price for something most companies sell quarter of the price for. What benefits would this give me over a Rep PR5000 version. It also looks slightly less safe.

Great detailed break down. I really like the OD green. That bar is very fair in price when you compare it to the Rogue operator bar that comes in OD green.

An important note for people who can't get to the showroom to check it out... if you are looking for higher aggressiveness, avoid the cerakote. It dulls it some.

Honestly, the Powerbar Ex was better in my opinion. I bought that and have also felt/ tested the Double Black Diamond and just like the Ex better

Not on the market for a new PB at the moment, but I do want a second one at some point. I think it’s going to be a tough choice for me between the SS REP double black diamond (cheaper) and the AB Chewy bar (a bit more premium I’m assuming, but much more expensive). Starting to think I should go with the REP.

Really thorough as always. I’d like to get one eventually but i just have so many good ones I fear it would just get lost in the shuffle.

I've got the Phoenix power rack and the folding bench. BridgeBuilt is an awesome company and is making great equipment.

Bridge makes such nice equipment. I am not a big fan of the bronze on everything, but I think it is cool that they have a distinct style. Their roller J cup is a beast.
