One thing that is great about XIV is that when you have finally caught up, you CAN go take a break and play other games! The development team encourages it. If you find yourself getting burnt out, or another game has come out XIV will always be back. I took a pause for XVI, VII Rebirth, and I'll probably take another break for the new NCAA College Football game once I'm finally done with Shared FATES in Dawntrail. (SOON.)

I got hit with 3 vuln stacks by an AOE as white mage and timed benediction so well that even in my clips you dont even see my hp drop. Thats when my god complex kicked in as healer LOL

don't worry, when you reach Dawntrail you will regret having played this game at all, this expansion was designed to burry ff14 :D

I've been playing this game longer than I've been married and we just had our 10 year anniversary! For nearly 11 years plus time spent in 1.0 this game is the only one that I continue to come back to (having legacy pricing is definitely a plus, lol). This game's story is the greatest videogame story I have ever experienced in my 40 years. The story has made me cry not only on my own playthrough, but as experienced FFXIV players know you become an emotional vampire to all newcomers to the game, and their experience affects us deeply too. Welcome all new players to this wonderful game!

Yeah, a lot of people come to FFXIV thinking its gonna be something like your typical live service PVE/PVP slog ie. Division 2. But they are sorely disappoointed when not only does it have a MASSIVE story over several expansions and hundreds of hours, but they gotta read too, so "skip cutscene" becomes the norm, they hate it, leave a review saying it sucks and why, and move on. Then you have the ones knowing its a Final Fantasy game and thats exactly what you get, just on a MUCH more social scale. and those people generally will stick around for years once they get into it.

Welcome to the good fight. No idea how far you're in but you have a LOT to experience. Some will make you cry, some will make you happy, and I can guarantee you'll have moments that will make you laugh and some that will outright confuse you or make you go "wtf was that!?" One thing I'm glad I did with each expnasion was avoid impressions videos and just formed my own as I played.

You can't quit only when you have friend in this game...

I find desynthing unneeded gear is better than selling it. You can get materials you can sell that will probably get you more money than selling the gear itself. It also goes toward your desynth level if the gear level is higher than it.

Community is not perfect. Def have come across a couple of racists and alt right dudes

The thing that grabbed me and didn't let go is the incredible meticulous detail they put into the history of the world. There is such a granular attention to detail with the history of the world and the rules of the universe and how they work. When I heard that they were so detailed when they designed the world that they mapped the ocean currents, I was in. I love a deep and detailed structure.

i have almost 31k hours in ffxiv and i still love the game... its still my most played game after nearly 7 years, its picked me up when i been down due to the community! i will always love ffxiv

Just watch out for the story going from end walker to dawntrail, you'll have to temper your expectations 😬 (The fights are great though!)

The only time you cant quit is when you own a house in game. Thats the only reason my sub remains active 11 years later 😂

This community has a fake “positive” vibe and is really mean and gate keepers and pervs. Vids like this set up players for a perfect game and what we don’t need is another TH-camr adding more “this game and community is perfect” I dnt know if ur a popular streamer but ur experience is completely different from a regular person. I haven’t had any drama but I have had literal stalkers Harrass me for not liking them back. That’s the new players experience. Maybe peope know who u are or something but as a new player last year, I was expecting this perfect nice community only to find people shouting and arguing in limsa. There’s a huge sexual part of this game and people throw thier creepy erp at any and everyone. Idk I think the community is horrible

This game tells, for the most part, an epic story where almost anyone can relate to the people in it; their motivations, their dreams, their bitterness, their regret. And it teaches us all a little something about how to handle such emotions in a constructive way, to help us become better selves. And it shows us that failure is a part of life, that we overcome to see successes beyond our failures.

For exploration, it's not the world you want to explore (outside of a few notable exceptions), it's the seemingly useless yellow sidequests. Sometimes they unlock cool stuff like glams, emotes, mounts, minions, and various other things. I recently started clearing my map for any and all "casual" sidequests I could find, and I am so glad I did.

Potions are really good if you're trying to do any of the Deep Dungeons (Palace of the Dead, Heaven on High, and Eureka Orthos) solo. They're really tough even with a party!

I really appreciate your ability to have an artistic appreciation of the game. A lot of those aspects go over the heads of players. There are a myriad of symbols and themes that are put in to emphasize the storytelling. As the story goes on it starts to allude to itself and those themings compound over and over and it just gets better and better. Also, DRK is a job with a lot of symbolism and themes to it. Story and symbolism are more important to DRK than any other job. I’m unbelievably excited to see how you feel about the future MSQ and also the future DRK quests. I subbed to stay tuned.
