Hi! We're Jami and Zeb Ray and we're really passionate about knowing where our food comes from. We try to eat as clean as we can, we're not perfect at it but we love to grow a big garden, preserve food, raise chickens and we've recently added a family milk cow, Buttercup, to the fold. We have 3/4 of an acre in Lehi, Utah and we're loving this micro urban homestead adventure in the high dessert. Follow along as we share this journey with you.

Graduation Trip To Hawaii With Our Oldest Daughter
Simple, but effective. Only thing I would do differently is to have a rollaway nesting box. I hunk I would give up eating eggs if the eggs had poop on them.
Nice! I am using a shed as a coop as well but a little one. Lifted it up on some cinder blocks and wood platform within the giant mesh run
Hi there! We just finished building the 10x7 version of this for our flock. My question is, how did you make the floor not slippery. Our roosters are sliding around in there just while we were building it. I’m going to put some straw down or pine chips but not sure if that will help much. Any ideas?
I’m so happy for you guys! Well done 👍. Question… how is your kitchen ceiling insulated? It’s cute is it cold in winter?
The Gothic arch is great!
Did you get a book of what gluten free items i had two in my family who had coeliac desease
Its so funnt how many people think this garbage is true LOL
Thank you for sharing. I love your recipes.
7ppl 4 kids 2 adults ?
Yummy!
Fun! I have been following the JRVintage channel for years, first time watching the Jami & Zeb channel. I love gardening and working on my own home, enjoying the bead board going up in the cottage.
Did your project with 1 change, I used 1/4 inch plywood (lauan) and it seemed to work and not as heavy or thick. Thanks for the idea.
Stunning
That price is not right. Take your time and keep your eyes on fb market place or Craigslist ppl sell these for 200 bucks all the time in good condition because they just don't want it anymore. This way you have the time to think it over and be 100% sure it's something you wanna do and if you do it, you regret it and then want it gone your not out a whole bunch of money and suddenly have 15 chickens you don't want no more. Take your time have faith and budget ppl.
What type are they?
Adorb!! ❤🎉
Wow that must have been a hard hail! 🌻Glad most of them survived!!🌻🌻🌻
Beautiful garden.
So happy to see all the progress in the garden and at the property. I love watching !❤
Garden looks wonderful!!!
Do you guys have an issues with insects or critters eating away at your plants?
Did freeze drying the cucumbers work?
It does. They don’t come back crisp once hydrated though
@@jamiandzeb but you think for Tzatziki sauce it would work? I always have way to many cucumbers 🤪
Wowza!!!! Busy days ahead canning & preserving! Did Harrington’s pressure work ok???
The garden looks amazing!!💚🌻💚🌻 I don't know how you guys do it ALL!!🙌🏼
That was so enjoyable to watch. Wish I had a partner to work alongside with. Jami, would it be possible to get your bread recipe. It looked delicious! ❤
How much did all the material cost?
You did a great job Zeb
Nice, I really enjoyed this video.
Zeb you are such a hard worker.
Sell seeds
I love the way the women, say 'we did this, we did that' the women do sweet FA other than criticise ' he missed a spot'
Hi guys, have you heard of " the Mill"? I composts all kitchen waste including meat and when its done you have compost and chicken food? They even will buy the food from you. I thought of your family instantly. Love your work ethic and family!!
I realized that I hadn't finished this video! So glad I came back to it. I love this channel & all the different projects! ❤ The strawberries already look amazing! My fig tree also took longer to leaf out this year,Zeb. I was concerned for awhile because it usually doesn't take this long! It's great now..I think you guys had a longer wait with the cold snap. Thanks for the updates on everything!! Love the garden area💚🌿
And... my question was, about your canning gear. Electric pressure canner? Stove top pressure canner?, water bath canner? Freeze dryer? Dehydrator?
Everything is so pretty!
Please don't let the cat mint smother the lavender. You have so much of the mint and the bees will thank you!
I discovered that if you check daily you can hoe the weeds out when they are tiny. It takes less time than waiting until they are bigger and you have to pull them. Of course I like to spend my time outside puttering in the yard!
My mother planted these in our home. I love them
I'm tired just watching you guys work. The forty is looking so good. I think you need a greenhouse to get a jump start on your plants.
love this video!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can use the onions still I’ve always used them when left till the next year they are awesome!
USE water softener SALT on the WEEDS… it won’t only kill what it’s put on and keep weeds at bay!
Love, love, love the mixer videos! Keep them coming. I watch and wait all day for your videos to come out
Can you tell us what County your property is in❓
When did you get rid of the chickens?
We still have 22 😊
😁😁😁
That ceiling is going to look so good. Can’t wait to see it finished!
Everything turned out great
Thanks!
35:03 Mullein? It looks like it--on its side with the oblong leaves? If the leaves form a rosette and are "hairy" it might be mullein. Good medicinal herb!
