Perfect timing guys, you must have heard the discussion between my husband and myself over the weekend. Hopefully, by next weekend I'll finally get the sliding door to our laundry room I've been bugging him about for the last 8 years 😂
I want a pretty laundry room so badly but I live in a 104 year old house and the basement is scary and even though I have skills that I learned from my dad it's a little bit above my skill level. So I will continue to admire your house.
We have two barn doors in our cottage, bathroom door and bedroom door, and they have barn door floor guides. Keep them sliding smoothly. Just a thought you may want to add.❤
Nice door! That was a good idea, I hate hollow core doors as well. We found a lot of our old doors at salvage yards and salvaged some ourselves out of old houses. They’re all a bit different, but all paneled does as well.
Man, we just bought a hollow core door 2 weeks ago and they start at $136. Would have much preferred the kind you built but they start at just under $300. Love how it turned out!
I LOVE IT! Finish watching a new JRV thrifting video, just to hit my subscriber list and find a new Jami & Zeb video! (Extra long lunch break at work right now!!)
Its worth it to get the roller piece for the bottom to hold the door from pushing outward away from the wall when it shouldn't. I keeps it from bonking into the wall and making that sound too that used to drive me nuts with ours.
New year's new jobs getting done around the home getting knocked off the to do list during the winter months before you tackle the cottage and garden along with all your real jobs and family. great idea guys.
This is such a great project for somebody who is fairly new to working with wood. Other than installing the hardware, I think I could do it. My only hesitation on the hardware is standing up on a ladder to install it because of my balance issues but I think it’s doable for just about anybody.
Hi you two! I know you are swamped but wanted to stop by this channel and let y'all know that your videos over here are loved ... and missed!!!! Please don't say y'all aren't going to keep up this channel! I am patiently waiting for the little cottage updates over here!!!!!
The door turned out great! Zeb is very talented! Most people would not have the skills or motivation to build a door. In Virginia, we have several architectural salvage dealers. You can walk into big warehouses and have your pick from hundreds of salvaged antique doors, mantels, windows, etc. Do they have places like that in Utah or is that maybe just an East Coast thing?
*What an attractive door you built, Zeb‼️😁🖤🤍🖤 It should fulfill all of the things you needed your laundry room door to do quite nicely...and I like how substantial it is, as well❣️🖤*
Love the door! Unfortunately, all my doors are hollow core and that ugly orange wood to boot! My goal in 2024 is to paint them all white and change out the hardware for black. ( And to finish up all those lingering household projects.)

Door is awesome. Everyone needs a Zeb
We used an old wood trowel for the handle on our sliding barn door. Great job!! Math is always my struggle.😬
That’s awesome!
It’s a beautiful door!

I wonder how a certain project makes it to the front of your endless line of projects! Love the barn door.
This is an excellent question that I would also like the answer too
But, mostly it has to do with what we have time to do that will make the most impact.

Habitat Restore has great antique doors.

Yes we have a few places like that but the prices are sky high
So so so cool! Love love love!❤
You did a great job Zeb
Did your project with 1 change, I used 1/4 inch plywood (lauan) and it seemed to work and not as heavy or thick. Thanks for the idea.
Jami and Zeb, the door came out beautiful
Love y’all!!
The door is perfect! Sure wish I had married a Zeb, my husband doesn't know which end of the screwdriver to hold!
Perfect!

Looks great! What kind of latch will you put on it?
No latch for now.
I love the way the women, say 'we did this, we did that' the women do sweet FA other than criticise ' he missed a spot'
I just had all the doors in my house replaced with solid wood doors. My husband thinks it's funny that I like how it sounds when you shut them.
They do make a satisfying thud when they close 😊
We also replaced all of ours. So much nicer
❤
👏👏👏
How much did all the material cost?
