Buttercup cracks me up how she was talking to Zeb .. she was saying she was hungry... She is eating for two...lol... Garden yummies look great!!!!

Hi guys, I bought a solar dryer for my herbs, cost me about $15.00 and no power bill, I love it. I have dried carrots and leek so far. Great harvest, I harvested 12 DZ green beans and a bunch of carrots. Still have to do potatoes next week. God Bless.

Love seeing Buttercup- she’s got such a personality! Watching you cooking, and picking vegetables from the garden made me hungry for more fresh food. We don’t have room for a garden but I love fresh garden/farm produce so we have to purchase it. I do understand what you said about being on vacation, or away from home and not being able to get much really healthy food. In fact, that’s why I cook everyday because that’s what we want. We definitely feel better when we. cook ourselves.
I want to do a small “greenhouse” experiment growing some indoor veggies this winter in a few pots. We’ll see how much I get! ❤️❤️
I don't know how financially viable it is, but there are half size dishwashers in a drawer form that could be an option. I actually think it's fine to go without a dishwasher. I don't have one
I think it’s more of a space saving decision Although we are trying to stay on a tight budget

I love Buttercup! Too sweet. The garden looks good. I have a Kalorik toaster oven/dehydrator/convection oven etc that is awesome for drying herbs. Our garden is much smaller but am still getting tomatoes, herbs, potatoes, lettuce and green beans. It all looks good and the demolition is coming along nicely. Keep up the awesome work!

The chickens are laying like crazy so we’ve been trying all sorts of ways to eat the eggs up. I even think all the neighbors are getting tired of eggs lol

Such a nice garden. I make big batches of pesto from fresh basil. I put 1 to 1 1/2 cups in a gallon freezer bag and spread it out in a thin layer and freeze it flat on a cookie sheet. Very easy to store and you just break off a chunk when you need it.

I don’t have a freeze dryer, but I have heard from homesteaders it is the best way to dehydrate herbs. Regular dehydrating doesn’t keep the color or flavor as well, apparently, especially with cilantro.
Oxygen absorbers aren’t the same thing as dessicants, they won’t deal with the moisture. You might want to keep an eye on the herbs for a week or two to see if there is any moisture on the plastic inside.

Jami you are right…dishwasher isn’t needed! I was in a Hotel for 2 1/2 weeks while my husband was in the hospital, there was a dishwasher and I never touched it..well I did peek in it …LOL!!!! But save the money…not needed👍

She has grass. It’s not tall but in the summer months we water her pasture
Such a small cute cottage. I know you two will make it absolutely adorable. With a small place, ever thought of going tankless for your water heater?? I know it can cost a pretty penny, but could free up some space in your kitchen area. Looking forward to seeing all your great designs.
Tankless is the way to go! We have tankless at our house and love it
All air b&bs i’ve stayed in have dishwasher and I just wash the couple of items by hand 😊

Lovein this new channel. Bittercup is so sweet. So glad you guys are keeping it healthy, don't you just feel so much better when you eat well, I know I do. FYI: Jami is right Avocado Oil is better to cook with, it has a higher smoke point then olive oil. When oil reaches it smoke point it becomes carcinogenic. Keep the olive oil for salad dressings & such.

Love this new channel!!! It is so encouraging to hear Zeb's excitement over the fabulously growing garden. And seeing Buttercup through the window mooing at Zeb was adorable. There cannot be too much Buttercup IMHO. Oh and I can't wait to see what Jami has planned for the design phase for the cottage. Jami, do you do a mood board or collect ideas on Pinterest in your design planning?

Avocado oil can handle hotter temps than olive oil - I think. Both are great.
I saw someone freeze dry cilantro, and they said it turned out amazing.
It is good but it blows all over my freeze drier because it’s so light lol.

Yes and no. Typically dairy cows have longer hooves. We just need to take her in a walk around the block on the asphalt and wear them down a little.

Maybe. I used to think so too but my uncle (old cowboy) told me dairy cows hooves are different than beef cattle and if I trimmed them to be very careful. He said it’s better to take a walk with her around the block on some asphalt to wear them down naturally.
How about a mini dishwasher?
They have very small dishwashers that are like a drawer?

When is buttercup due? She looks exhausted like when we are 9 mos already 😂 poor thing.

Why do you have a rooster? How do you keep the eggs from being fertilized?
They get fertilized. He does a real good job at keeping the hawks and other small predators away from the coop.
Do you have a video on why you are eating different diet?
Not specifically. Zeb was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease a year ago and they recommended cutting out all inflammatory foods, Specifically gluten and processed sugars and to eat as clean as possible. It’s helped him quite a bit.

Where are your sheep? Did I miss something? Also, have you tried freeze drying your herbs?
We had to give the sheep away. With buttercup having a calf soon we exceeded the amount of animals we can have for our zoning.
I freeze dried some last year and as they got dry it vacuumed them all over the freeze dryer 😂
