All your projects with the apricots look amazing. I always loved canning. I miss it, especially this time of year. It doesn’t make sense to do it for one person. But I can live vicariously through you.
Yeah, we were both discussing the size of this garden even for our large family. We share a lot of produce with the neighbors lol. It might get a few flowers planted in it next year lol
Yum! Brings back childhood memories…my relatives had an apricot tree and they are my favorite. 😋
Oh my those apricots look amazing! My mom used to make apricot fried pies, she used dried fruit.
My Aunt used to call the rubber spatula a “kid cheater”. So true!
Everything looks so yummy. I miss having apricot trees. Not a lot of them in this area.
I’m up to my ears in apricots too! I’ve made apricot leather a lot, but I’ve never cooked the apricots first and never put it through a sieve. I just whizz it up in the blender, put a little sugar in and put it in the dehydrator on plastic container lids sprayed with Pam. I don’t have a freeze dryer, but when I dehydrate apricots, I dip them in pineapple juice first. It helps keep the color and it makes them sweeter. So yummy! Next time try 135* for the dehydrator.
I really love this channel! You two are so great. ❣❣
Ooooo, homemade apricot anything is delicious. One year one batch of my maternal grandmother's apricot preserves didn't set properly. She was a perfectionist. What was a disaster in her eyes was a happy accident in my family's eyes as we had apricot "syrup" for, well, whatever we could imagine to pour it on...ice cream, waffles... Your video brought back that fond memory.
Yummy pickings!
I love these videos
I bought pure cane sugar from Walmart. It was just a couple dollars more than processed cheap sugar. I ordered it online, and had 4- 8lb bags sent directly to my house. It's an equal substitution, and I use low sugar pectin for my jams and jellies. We have a crab tree that is loaded with fruit for the first time in 25 years, since we planted it. I'm going to make crab apple jelly to give to my grown kids!
*Looks so YUMMY. 😋 Raspberries are my favorite fruit, followed by APRICOTS❣️ We had an apricot tree in California where I was born; none here in Minnesota. 😔 Fresh figs and apricots are what I miss most about California....but with the current state of affairs in California, I wouldn't want to live in California 😔😡‼️*
I know you two have a ricer!!! Cone shaped sieve with legs, then use a cone shaped 1 handled rolling pin like thing! You can make seedless jam with it SO GOOD! Pro tip: do NOT use a pantyhose as a second filter! Those baby’s STRETTTTTCHHHHH 😂
2nd!
Hullo from almost rainy Washington
@@kellihull7600 I’m in Kingston. It’s very humid. Only had a few drops of rain.
@@lesliejohnson7247 oh I need to Google your city. We are humid to but the pollen and dust got knocked down 💜
👍🌞🌞
Since you love Apricots so much, plant some of those seeds and grow a tree or two
Maybe you could create a queen sized daybed for Eliza with layers and layers of textile goodness
I love your cooking shows :)
