Dziękujemy.
Been watching for years, and I am so impressed with your energy, positive spirit, and of course, your progress to where you are now. You've done amazing work. You should be be proud of what you have achieved.
Your engine bed looks great, you can also bolt them with recessed bolts to the old beds., the top piece could be just wood so you can adjust the height as reqd unless you are super confident of the height. Cheers Warren
I love you guys and cannot wait for a Friday night at around 8 to watch what you have done for the week but then before you know it you show is over and you have shown hardly anything - there are a ton of boat resto videos out there and they post weekly with a ton of work done. Just seems as if you guys never move on with some thing and are always doing a whole lot of other work inbetween what you should be doing and showing sunsets and having loooooong conversations about nothing - we subscribe cos we want to see the results, well at least I do - great show, you are a stunning couple but spead things up a little
Hi Ruben! Thanks for your comment. We totally agree with you. We don’t record as much as we would like though and we are so up to date that literally the last part of the footage on every episode is recorded the same day the video is going live. You would be surprised how many TH-cam channels are so ahead of time that can condense much more footage on one episode. We aren’t the fastest workers neither professionals so behind every step there are a lot of setbacks and doubts (which after the fact we realise shouldn’t have bothered about). But it is a challenge. This episode is a real reflection of 4 days of work. That’s how long it took us to get all that tabbing done. We are also taking 2 days off a week now because we know the winter is going to be tough and we want to keep the balance. Really trying our best 😅 Just out of curiosity, which channels are you referring to? There’s a lot to consider when comparing with other restoration projects… Resources, boat work experience, footage backlog, professional help, filming experience, jobs to be done… We used to compare ourselves to @SailingUma (arquitects, on their 3rd refit, with loads more resources and filming experience…), @SailingMagicCarpet (a boat builder and amazing carpenter, also on their second boat project and with a lot more resources and experience on filming), @SailingYaba (a team of amazing carpenters helping and looking at how well their channel has grown probably more resources). Just to name a few. Not criticism quite the opposite. We can only aspire to get to what they all have achieved. But we are trying our best… Currently not being able to do any epoxy work because we run out and had to wait until we got paid to buy it. We doubt they would have that problem 😅 We would love to post amazing videos every week with a ton of work and get the boat in the water in a couple of months but that’s not the case. Hopefully we’ll get better 😊 But thank you for mentioning because we do feel like that a lot of the time. We don’t want to disappoint all you who are watching.
You're doing great... You're making the engine bed stronger than it has ever been and it will hold up.. thanks for sharing your journey with us and keeping us entertained..
Doug at SV Seeker is mad for his 3D printer. Made load of fittings an fixtures for his boat.
I note that you are starting to consider the installation of the engine mounts. I came across this channel that might provide some thoughts especially in regard to procedure and the actual vibration mount placement. This will impact on the height of the iroko base mounts. The vlog is disjointed but persevere you may learn a trick or two. th-cam.com/video/Xj4c9Yj8uoE/w-d-xo.html
Oroco is a great wood to use. Really hard and super rot resistant. Takes adhesives and epoxies well.
Mucho ánimo con el frío!
Following You two from Colorado Springs Colorado.
You guys rock…can’t wait to see you on the water!
Marina, you should invite your Mother down for a stay. You seem to get so much work done in a short period! The engine mounts should be extremely sound. Great episode.
And all for a good price!
Would you believe it? I’ve just seen how good and what quality the woodwork really is on the boat? those Louva cupboards oozes quality the mahogany looks stunning 😊
When you are gluing up the stacked boards, it can be hard to keep them aligned when you clamp them (they want to slide a little side-to-side). But if you sprinkle a little salt, coarse is better, it will provide a little grip between the boards. You could use something else like sand but that could dull your saw blades/drills. But salt won't cause a problem.
havent watched a video of you for ages - you almost didi it 👋 wow - respect !!!!! love from germany
Love the progress guys, always enjoy watching your posts and watch with enthusiasm and excitement every week. Much love from the Grimm’s residents ❤
Love your videos and holla to your mum. The engine bed guys just go with your gut instincts here as so many armchair shipwrights on TH-cam 😂. Watching a video is totally different from actually being on site.
Might be the lighting, might have been peel ply but some of the edges of your tabbing and some other areas look textured like there was not enough resin applied. (Dry or sticking up, fray on ends) Engine should be fine on well attached wood blocks, and mounting brackets. Foam under the bulk heads, the only down side I see is if it gets wet (which is unlikely unless the fiberglass tabbing fails) because moisture will degrade the plywood edges. If there is enough force applied to the hull of the boat to deform it, you most likely will have bigger problems.
The hello mom was so beautiful. Along with how this boat is turning out.
If you’re not already following them, check out RAN sailings new build and their floor installation: th-cam.com/video/ZEb4V7XGTdU/w-d-xo.html
It's amazing the amount of work that you have accomplished. Your Mum is more than likely very proud of you! We all are, for the both of you. Cheers

Hello Mum, 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼 Your daughter rocks ✊✊✊ She’s doing a great job 👍👍👍👍 You should be proud of her as we all are 👌👌
Come on guys Subscribe, Hit the bell button 🔔, Give the big thumbs up 👍 and make a nice comment. The sooner we get this boat in the water and on it’s way the sooner we can stop watching these great videos 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍 Just kidding guys we will always watch your great videos 👀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 You guys rock ✊✊✊
I enjoy watching your excellent work on what is truly a huge project. Your explanations are informative and entertaining. While I dont love every process the manufactures use, I find it amazing when your construction is obviously stronger than the original, which has worked with no issues for decades, and some think the modifications will not hold up.
I have one simple little idea; I think it's time to quit pussy-footing around with the problem of water in the keel. Here is my suggestion; cut out a decent sized aperture in the keel big enough for you to be able to have a proper look inside the keel. I would suggest a square hole of approx. 9x9 inches, big enough for you to have a decent look and to get some tools into. When you get around to doing the repair, I suggest that you secure something flat to the inside of the hole to give you something to use for backing up your new fibreglass patch. I think it is important to find out the true situation inside that keel, if only for your own peace of mind !
I was subscribed, and it changed, so i have subscribed again. Keep at it guys
The foam on the bulkheads should avoid the bulkhead squeaking when you are close hauled and crashing through a swell. 😂
Ola Marina’s Mum. Your daughter is an inspiration to us all❤
we can make them on our printer just let me know...Debra (SV Romulus)
Just saND THE INSIDE!!
Your idea looks fine. I’ve re-engined two boats and did exactly what you did on one. That boat is still going 15 years later.
Sanding help solve simple problems.
Great job making the case for the engine area!
dumb question but does the gearbox rotate ie can it be repositioned 180 degrees ? so you would not have to raise the bed .....just a thought
We are just around the corner. I fitted a new engine in our boat last year, if you need any help or tips we will be here for at least another week. I know you know this but get your shaft in place first and work from that, as that's the only angle that cannot be changed. Great job your doing 👍
Keep going. Looking great
Most marine engine mounts have adjustable bases so once the engine & transmission are in it should be no problem to line it up to the shaft.
Good work.
I look forward to seeing what you are getting up to each week and you never disappoint. The floor and bulkhead/ribs (or what ever they are called!) has been a long process for you both and the relief you will feel when that is done will be great. The engine area is next, but love the way you both are confident and committed to what you plan. Go for it, you are doing amazing and love catching up with you each week. 😍
Hello to your mum 🥰😁
Thanks guys..
Hola Marina, Qué sorpresa, yo estaba seguro de que eras griega pero hoy te escuché hablar español con tu madre. Felicitaciones por el magnífico trabajo que están haciendo con el barco
So excited to see the floor go down and the engine put in place!! 😊😊
I think you should say hello to your mother every episode, never miss a moment.
Ah yes that is a better way to, can't wait to see your smiles on the day Seabird goes in the water super great project have a great weekend 😀
Silly question seeing you use levels inside I guess the whole boat on the mounts is perfect level ? Love the videos 👍🏻👍🏻
We used the old floor as reference 😅 We marked where the level was and we’ve copied that throughout the boat. Let’s hope the original floor was level 😂😂
