If you put the brackets that hold the shelf up little support the shelf better and it is a nice flat surface to put stuff on The top of the shelf
As always, you two are amazing!
You're the best! Cheers for watching 🙂
Its come a long way! Hard work pays off!
Thank you. Step by step... Cheers for watching 🙂
Good job. Enjoy the projects and keep your eye on the prize.
Thank you! Will do! Cheers for watching 🙂
mix your filler on a small piece of stiff plastic sheet. Just flex it once it dries to remove whats left over and reuse it. Its a much quicker and thorough method of mixing than messing around with a cup and a stick. Good channel by the way.
Thanks for the tip. Cheers for watching 🙂
Great work guys, you must be really stoked you are seeing some great progress!
Yes we are. But still so much to do... Cheers for watching 🙂
Love it
Thanks. We are glad you enjoy the content. Cheers for watching 🙂
The head looks a thousand times better than before. The wood colors look like different shades of sun fading. It is warm and inviting.
A welcoming place to relax 🤣 Cheers for watching 🙂
Good job
Thanks. We are grateful for your support. It helps us out more than you know. Cheers for watching 🙂
Posh plant
It started as a little cutting from a friend. It's amazing how quickly it's grown. Cheers for watching 🙂
The brakes under the shaft
..? Can you elaborate? Cheers for watching 🙂
25:40 😮 😂
I'm sure we'll be ok. You'd have to make an effort to see anything worth seeing 🤣 Cheers for watching 🙂
@SailingSeabird it'll be fine. What made me chuckle was the idea and how it was described. I could imagine someone saying "oooh what's here" and trying to have a look. 😆 All the best to you two. You both are truly inspirational.
I recalled you sharing that the electricity rates are very expensive in the winter, had you ever considered one of those diesel heaters to warm the cabin while working? The chinese webasto knockoff kits that include the fuel tank and all the accessories. Best of luck
It's not been too bad this winter. We have a diesel heater to install but a drip feed type. Cheers for watching 🙂
You guys are doing a great amount of work! Keep going! Thank you
We will! Glad you enjoy. Cheers for watching 🙂
What would 2K automotive clear top coat do with wood?
Probably a good or even better job. But we don't have any 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers for watching 🙂
The board looks like it’s engineered wooden floor boards.
Who knows... It's chunky and it was free! Seems to do the job, how long we don't know. 🤣 Cheers for watching 🙂
Use those lovely shavings to smoke some fish-maybe!
🤣🤣🤣 It was a joke, iroko is toxic. Cheers for watching 🙂
I was converted from varnish to danish oil some time ago, especially outside and I wouldn’t go back. Varnish is such hard work and doesn’t preserve the wood nearly as well as oil does. Crikey, if this is indicative of the standard that you are finishing to I may have to find a more bodgey channel so I don’t feel too inadequate!😉
Oil is the way forward. It's so much easier, so much. I wouldn't even think to put varnish on outside stuff. Maybe the dinghy bracket. Cockpit table, too. I think that's all the wood we have outside. Inside, it's a bit more of a mix. Teak, we just oil, other bits, not so sure. Like the countertop, we varnished that. All we've really done is give the room a lick of paint (that we found in the bin) and replaced the countertop as the old one was rather horid. Close-up is a very different story. Cheers as always 🤩
It's looking good, guys! But don't forget that boats tend to rock 'n' roll once in the water, so the plant pot will need some support, or will end up in the toilet!
You're not wrong there. There are a few ways to fix it in place, I'm sure it will be fine. Cheers for watching 🙂
I would choose oiling over varnishing. It looks better, easier to apply, and is more resistant. Varnish will show a whitish spot when bumped. When oiled it will not. Same for the head counter top.
Great suggestion! Countertop, we think the varnish is a better choice due to the moisture. Thanks for the advice. Cheers for watching 🙂
It is amazing to see what a bit of ingenuity and perseverance will do! The head is turning out awesome and can’t wait to see the fiberglass work on the engine base done. Great progress guys!❤
Thank you very much! Hopefully get to the engine bed soon. Just returned with the gearbox... Cheers for watching 🙂
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐on the head. Would poop again! Only thing I'd have done differently is putting the tap in the right hand corner.
I get that. Marina is left-handed, and I don't mind 🤣 Plus the cleaning, it's easier to clean things if you can get a cloth all the way around. We do tend to overthink the placement of things. And we did try the tap in the righthand corner, it moved the sink over too much. As I said, overthink 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers for watching 🙂
That is a beautiful transformation to the head. You have done a good job. I know Stu worked very hard on the very beautiful shelf in the head but how can the plant sit on it without falling?
I'm sure good luck and wishful thinking will keep that plant in place 🤣🤣🤣 In all seriousness, we've already got a few ideas on how to secure it. Give it a try and see what works. Cheers for watching 🙂
I'm blown away at what you both have achieved. Your positivity is inspiring. Dare I say? I'm proud as punch. Great ...no...fantastic job. Don't know diddly about sailing. You both gave me a marvellous insight. Love to you both. From your missing link Aunt.
It's exciting to see how it looks in the head/pooper. The efforts you both are making are so rewarding, you look motivated and buzzing with good feeling and emotions. Great work - can't wait to see the next developments.
Engine bed... Let's get that finished. Cheers for watching 🙂
Great work! ❤
Thank you! 😄 Cheers for watching 🙂
Fantastic job
Thank you. Cheers for watching 🙂
Thanks
You guys are so fun and super hard workers.. You could have been a northern Dane with your enthusiasm Stu 😅 : "yeah it's alright" 😁
Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed by jobs in my own boat, I think of you guys and how you keep pushing, one step at a time. It gives me great encouragement that we can do this! Well done.
Amazing progress guys. Well done.
Head looks great, a big improvement, love Marina’s positivity, you have come such a long way, thanks for sharing your progress, the editing of the updates is a job in itself, good luck!
Too cold for epoxy here too. -1°C yesterday inside boat. So i drilled some holes 🤣
When i saw the shelf i was immediately thinking about this plant. It grew so much. Mine suffers a bit with all the moving the past few months. Keep on going guys you’re doing an awesome job 😘
Good on you. I’m excited for you both. All the best.
You both should be so proud, your head came out perfect. Yours is the best restoration channel on UTube. Great job!
Looking pretty good can’t wait for launch day 😊
I really like the work you have both done and the wet area looks fantastic! Keep warm! Watching as usual from sunny Queensland, Australia. :)
Exciting you guys! Cool to see a "finished" project. I know there's more to do but you guys should feel proud of all the progress you're making. Nice work!!
The oiled wood looks better and will be easier to maintain. Good job.
Always good to see some rooms on the boat nearing completion, looks great..
Heartwarming to see that all that tedious removal of mouldy old hull and fit-out is going to pay off with a boat you will love living aboard. All that hard work in refurbishment is starting to really come together. Congratulations. PS the lighter bench top works with the cream and the little basket, but we are wondering how you are going to keep the basket in place.
Excellent job. Well done!
Nice to see at least one room completed. It seems like a wonderful place to sit quietly with a newspaper😁. And for that small corner where light comes through, I would use a piece of milky white plexiglass. You can't see through it, but it does let light through. You can probably find a piece in one of the garbage containers on the site. Good luck with everything.
All I want from a TH-cam channel. Nice people, good humour and great project and you tick all three well done.
Really looks good!
The potho sets the loo off beautifully. I was going to say that it looks a place to spend many happy hours, but I wont!😀
The head really looks great. Good job.
The heads looks great, really encouraging to see one area looking nearly "finished"
Lookin good , I’ll bet the nay sayers are eating there words now.
