I considered windowpane print for a jumpsuit and knew I would not be able to cut straight enough for it to work. The pieces together look beautiful. I know what you mean about the pleats, I had a twisted pleated neck blouse on my list for the longest. It has to be immaculate.

Great makes! Spaghetti straps used to annoy me until i began making the adjustments from the front. it's so much easier to attach the straps in the back and leave the front strap area open so you can make your adjustments.

Just finished cutting this pattern out using precious fabric from my fabric stash, when your video popped up.... As you start to expain the button issue I started panicking... I stopped the video, breathe and then continued watching.. thank you so much for the review and how to solve the issues... I will be taking my time with this dress... your dress is absolutely gorgeous😁

Thanks for sharing this. I'm the only one in my area that sews clothes, everyone else does quilts. It's always nice to see what others do. A suggestion for the waistband... Use hooks and eyes to keep the placket flush and the button will no longer be a pain to deal with.

Gorgeous dress. You’re the first I’ve seen to actually like that pattern, on one, the collar didn’t fit, the other, it ran big. It looks fantastic on you, and in stripes. Cone, and done.

Beautiful dress. The color on the model looks frumpy, not the dress style. I would have cut off the hem just as you did. I would wear it with a few bottom buttons open, showing some leg. So nice. I love shirt dresses as well. It's just easy dressing to me. That organza dress will be 🔥. I am doing a red sheer chiffon n I will wear year round. Thx for sharing 😊

Great video Terri. I did know some of this info, but the problem I have with them is that they no longer carry some of the variety of apparel fabrics they used to (or they consider them seasonal). I have plenty of great fabrics from them that they don't seem to have anymore. I think Jo-AND has lost it's focus and forgotten who their customers are.

This was a great video, I learned a lot. I forget to get my smile’s barcode scanned all the time. I won’t forget any more. If I go back and “really” add up all the money I’ve spent at JoAnn, I could have probably bought stocks in the company. Lol.

Hi Terri. I never have nor will I ever make a muslin for myself. Call me stubborn or stupid. Or a rogue. I just want to get to the fun part. When I sewed for others, I made muslins for them. But I learned to measure the pattern pieces, tissue fit and make adjustments. Like Stelly, I'm full busted and short waisted and usually make those adjustments before I start and then make a few tweaks as I go along. Of course, I've had a handful of uh-oh's (like my attempt at a corset earlier this year) but have I learned my lesson? Nope🥴. As my mother used to say, "Every spoil is a style!" The corset is now a purse. So I venture forth with seam ripper in hand. LOL!!! I love this pattern and you did a great job with it. Maybe a sling back shoe would work. In the Fall, it's going to look good with a pair of boots.

I have cut out and attempted to put together two Burda patterns. I’m an experienced seamstress and I can assure you I won’t be wasting any more fabric on Burda. I had to make so many alterations due to things like facings not fitting.Going to give New Look a try.

I, too, picked this one up at 99 cents. Haven't made it yet, I got about 30 new patterns. Before the sale I had about 5, which were always in the sewing rotation because I like the NL fit. This 1 will bump up to next month for sure as it looks so nice n comfy on you. Thanks for sharing 😊

I make muslins all the time, wearable muslins. The main reason is to test the fit. Secondary reason, to practice new procedures and sewing methods. Fortunately I have a muse that always takes whatever I sew. So the first make is always a wearable muslin... 😮😅😊
