VStar Bobber Build Pt.12 Solo spring seat
I need to lower my 01 Vulcan 1500 about 11/2 is the shocks the only way ?
Looking forward to seeing the progress 😊
Fantastic. I'm restore an old bike and could not find a replacement. Saved me. Thank you!
I have some different gear changer with twin pedal
Curious. Any issues driving with no front fender? I keep hearing about something flexing
Highly interested in doing something similar so I’m about to watch all these 😂
Unfortunately I only Judy’s started this series but feel free to post any questions and I’ll answer everything through the series
@@rev7garage I’m still deciding how I wanna do my cage, my original plan was to do a standard caged version and then build my tube frame off the cage but I’m considering just going tube frame from the beginning what is the benefit of switching the suspension?
I was going same direction and my floors were going to be more work saving them to tie the cage into then just building a tube chassis from the start so I made the plunge to go all the way right off the start Suspension in this orientation allows the car to sit lower with full travel, easier to actually adjust the suspension located up top and I can run wider wheels without hitting the coilover
@@rev7garagedoes doing the suspension like that affect the spring rates you need?
What size tubing are you using? I want to do a rear brace for my car
I’m using 1.75 DOM but if your just wanting to build a brace I would use 1.5inch with a .095-.120 wall
@@rev7garage thanks! I will get some of that
We used to call the splice you were referring to at 10:00, a fishmouth splice on aircraft frame repairs. I did try to find an example on google but nada. Might have just been a local term. 🤷♂️
Definitely have heard that term in my time building roll cages!
that seat is pretty cherry looking, where did you get it if you don't mind me asking? also that foot clutch linkage system is genius. cheers!
I got the seat from a shop in London, Ontario Canada. Chop Shop Ind. Great guy to deal with. He has tons of selection and ships world wide
I like the look of those lower coped pipes. Looking forward too where this is going
Yea I’ve extended down tubes using same size pipe and internal plugs but I’m really diggin this look too. Going to make a nicer design to tie them in! Appreciate the follow!
I have one I’m working on as well. Curious as to the trail .
Next video or the one following I’ll have a better idea of final measurements. I should also have it “rolling” so people can see the stance before I tear it down and do the rear end
Any links to Learn how to pad and upholster?
I actually used a local marine builder to do my seats
Well you made that look easy. Can’t even imagine the hours of thought you have into that
Appreciate that! Your right tho. Way more time invested in research then actually fab time
Did you have to lower the bike at all or mess with the suspension in order to get less clearance between the rear fender and the tire?
Yes. This one is lowered and hardtailed
@@rev7garageDo you think the rear tire could still support the weight of a passenger?
I really do think it could
@@rev7garagewould love to know how you did it . I like how the old fender bracket flows into the swing arm
Hi, coming back a couple years later but if this is a 650, then the frame doesn’t have the part where it hangs above the rear tire, like the 1100. Unless this is an 1100 and you just chopped the frame off screen. Does the rear fender still have enough support to carry a passenger?
Ya this is a 650. I kept the structural metal in the fender by adding the 1/4 round bar welded around the edge. It held my wife zero issues (135lbs)
Beautiful motorcycle.....
Thank you!
Go find a couple of chrome lug nuts out of your old toolbox and tap them gently into the end of the handlebars with rubber cement and you good to go
Will that front rim fit 2005 classic looking to go up from the 16...
Yes it will
@rev7garage thank you brother for your time...
@rev7garage one more question what model did that come off of I can't find any...
This bike started as a classic and I used the 650 custom front wheel. From the same generation. It was a direct swap
@@rev7garage thank you for your time..
Just watched your video. I actually bought that bike last year. So cool seeing all that went into it
Is that legal ?
What drop were you on before this bro and did u need a monster notch or to cut ur tubs?
The honda or vstar 650? Which do you like best!!!
Im planning on doing this and relocating the start button, and maybe my turn signals/light switches to the center of it.
Got one you can sell?
Hey brother what happened with this build 😭 it's been so long, still waiting for your update, hope you are well.
Bro I need help here’s what I got it’s a 2003 Honda shadow ace it’s actually my sons bike that he bought as an extra bike, but he decided because his older brother doesn’t have a motorcycle that he was going to give it to him. We wanna make it a surprise we’re trying to put it together, but we’re having trouble when we took it apart, we were slow on work and had some time on our hands. Well since Work picked up it’s been almost 67 months ago since we took it apart and we can’t remember exactly how all the electrical stuff goes back on. We did mark everything with tape on both ends, we’re still having trouble putting this thing back together, what I need is for you to direct me to a video that would show the breakdown or the rebuild of a Honda shadow Ace or the spirit 750 same bike almost if you could do that for me I would greatly appreciate it thank you
Very, Very Cool !!!
How can i purchase some vstar kits?
Are these available now?
Great video, where can I get it?
Бедна сптна..вме по лужа. Не понздишь
I want a rear fender im from nb
Beautiful bike bro
does the swing arm still move with the square stock?
No
are those original side covers?
what rear signal lights should i get
Awesome work btw bike looks sick!
Hear me out, slant insert using the hole underneath the speedo for a mag charger for an iPhone to sit in…. GPS plus charging 🤯
What exhaust is that? Nice locking project 👍
On the fender bracket you used on the back fender is that specific for a 650 vstar classic or will it work on a 1100 classic as well?
Nice
I gotta question so the line connecting from the front break that connects to the piece in the middle of forks is that cable a single or is it a full cable connected all the way down because i was gonna change my bars out but idk what to do hopefully u understand what im trying to talk about lol
Don't know about your bike, but on his bike there's a single brake line that goes from the brake lever down to the triple tree, and then 2 brake lines from the triple tree to the calipers (one for each caliper). There's a hard line, basically a t-connector, on the lower triple tree connecting all the cables. If your bike is the same, and you're only changing handlebars, you should only need to replace/extend the single brake line from brake lever to triple tree. The lower 2 lines won't be affected. But if you have rubber lines from the factory still, you might as well upgrade all of them to braided steel since you'll be draining and bleeding the system anyways and steel lasts longer and is safer. Hope this helps
How high are your apes?
Very curious to where in Ontario you're located, I definitely want to pick up a cruiser and make it into a bobber and seeing what you're doing with that rear fender interest me and would love to hear your thoughts on some stuff
you doing an inventory of your garage or a bagger build......you must have ADD
What kind of handle bars you got on the bobber? Like those lines a lot
Dude THANK YOU.
Cutting off that much would you still be able to fit a second seat and sissy bar? Looking to get one but the rear fender looks atrocious and I don’t wanna give up a seat
Should I get a Honda Shadow 750 I wish you can help me build mind that I live in Akron Ohio
Did you finish?
