WHat day of the week do the bees usually come in for pick up ?

In the terms of energy conservation, you might consider wrapping your tank in rock wool insulation and adding a second shell of stainless. Maybe a little overkill, but it would keep that wax warmer for a longer period of time with less energy while heating.

This Spring (2021) a hive moved into a large stump next to our driveway. We had no idea it was had a large cavity in it. We are now in a dearth, so, I feed them sugar water. They are a gentle hive even in cloudy drizzly weather.
