Subject: Wolverine V3 Pro - Tournament mode not working Response By Email (Chester U.) (16-Dec-2024 01:19 AM) Hi Alessandro , Great day! Thank you for contacting Razer. Thank you for your patience. Our internal team has provided us with an update on the problem you are experiencing. Additionally, following a thorough examination, I’d like to clarify that the behavior you’re experiencing is expected when the controller is set to PC Mode. PC Mode is designed specifically to ensure seamless functionality and optimal performance when used with a PC. This setting enhances compatibility with Windows operating systems, allowing the controller to work effectively with your setup. Additionally, to help users understand this, there is a note in the app that appears when switching the controller to PC Mode. If you have any further questions or need assistance with setup, feel free to let us know!
In order to stream on the highest quality and fps, does the monitor need to be 4k with high hz? I have an elgato 4k x capture card and stream on my series x through a MacBook. The stream can sometimes stutter and quality isn’t that high.
You can't map one button to do 2 things simontaniously , for example if I wanted to only use my RT to be RT+L3 , so I dont have to focus my gun manually with an extra button meaning faster focused shots on BO6
How can I update it's firmware on my computer????
You should be able to do this in the about section within the Razer app
@lbs thx I updated it and the right stick still has stick drift but the left stick is straight idk what to do now but I just put up the dead zone thx 😊
@THEBATMAN180 yea I have the same issue w the right stick but it’s balanced out w in game settings for dead zones or I just set it to 1 in the Razer app
@@lbs mines only could go up to 3 on the razer app
For me this controller is not competitive at all .joystick are to soft and we can’t adjust the tension for some reason I play way better on the elite Something is wrong with my aim on the Razer, I try it on standard not yet in circular mode It is a shame because I really like the controller but the joystick feel so bad in cod And this controller is made for pc but you can remap paddles with keyboard input 😢, you can’t use 1000hz on game pass pc because it won’t be detected as a Xbox controller 😢 Any suggestions for settings in cod? And is it possible to found way to use 1000hz on game pass pc maybe using Some software to make it believe is a Xbox controller? Should I use sensitivity clutch? And usb c is moving in the back this is unacceptable at this price
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experiences! I would like stick tension adjustment as well but I’ve felt them to be in the middle for myself. Perhaps precision rings might help, but I’ve yet to test them on this controller. Great insight on the 1k hz not working on PC game pass! I wouldn’t doubt someone has made a program to bypass controller recognition (if COD can’t stop cheaters, I don’t see how Xbox can block people wanting to use their desired controller w another program). What settings are you looking for w COD. Main thing for me is I set the dead zones in the Razer app to 0 (right stick) & 1 (left stick) then fine tuned them in the game settings. I also make sure I use all the back paddles for xbya and the claw grip (I play w my hand in standard position) buttons I’m experimenting with. Right now the right is to ping enemies.
On the circularity mode, should I choose standard or circular? I'm playing mostly FPS games.
Consider standard as the norm but try them all. Get a feel. It will come down to what feels best for you. I still mess around w them at times
I returned two of these now because even after the firmware update I had 7's on my x and y and I only play shooters. Also, Fun Fact...this controller can't update itself, you have to update it with a windows laptop. So to get all this straight you have to have a windows laptop to even consider updating the firmware on this controller even though it is designed for "xbox" I loved the feel of this controller and all the buttons, but unfortunately the dead zones were too much. for some clarification, I would have to move my left stick forward about 1/8th inch before I moved in game. That is significant! almost crazy. Razer remedies this by providing a " software update" that is a load of crap! HERE'S WHY, I took note of both my software version and firmware version on the controller. I then downloaded the updater download from the razor site and utilized it. It stated the my controller needed an update. I followed the prompts and successfully downloaded and installed the update only to find that the firmware version and or software was the same and the promblems still remain. So naturally I attempt to update it again, thinking surely something went wrong. Again, the updater tool ran the same update, said it was complete and yet nothing changed including version of software. So basically what happened after further investigation is, razor didn't actually create a firmware update. Razor simply created a downloadable tool to give the illusion of an update, when in fact all of the programming remained the same. Ps: anyone saying they have zero dead zones with the parameters set to zero either doesn't know how to check their xy values or 2 has their in game dead zones set to 10 or more....
6:14 what controller settings would be best to have something similar or closest to cross deadzone
Great question! You're going to want to play w/ the "calculations." See if "axis-independent" or "True diagonals" work best for you.
$200 is a scam considering that some of the features should just be implemented to the system itself. button remapping could easily be something they added to the ps5 itself, giving you a choice for customized setups per game. it costs nearly as much as the whole freakin' console.
It is costly, I agree. I think the stick module tech, paddles and potential R&D add to the cost, but the branding and competition like set the price. At least some games off needed remapping and the standard controller is still the best option for most of us. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Would of been a great controller if my thumbsticks and bumpers werent backwards on xbox but normal on pc..itd be fine but i play xbox...sending it back tmrw
Yea that would be a definite exchange/return
Can you put you Dead Zone to 1, because i could do it on minimum 3 before its 0. And another question. Make it any difference, if you put the dongle in the front or in the back usb port of the Xbox?
Yep! That was my resolve. I put it on 1 and it is super responsive as if I had it at 0. Not sure on putting the dongle in the back, but assuming it would function the same. You trying to keep the front port open?
@ no I ask only if there are differences in the connection (better response time). And you can put the dead zone to 1? I have only the possibility to put it to 3 before its goes to 0. Do I need to update my firmware or ?
Ahh…yea you should be able to go from 0,1,2, then 3 in the app. Shouldn’t matter the port it is in. Try updating the firmware.
I have updated my controller now, but it still have only the option to put the deadzone to 0/3/5/7/9/11
Stupid that you can't remap all of the buttons like you can with the elite.. I hope they change that in an update
10000% agreed
Thank you ! Yet another great review with amazing quality!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
Appreciate you!
I’m greatly disappointed
Fortunately I haven’t had to deal w them as of late. What’s your experience?
Anyone know of some kind of aftermarket grips that help with the short handles?
Turn your deadzone to 2 or 3 and your fine. I just got.mine today and it's amazing. Every controller has drift. Razer combats that by adding a deadzone off the hop. Every single controller will have a little drift at the center in true raw mode due to the nature of electrical currents and signal interference. Hall Effect advertises "anti-drift," but that's a marketing misnomer. It should really be: Hall Effect will (theoretically)never develop worse drift over time.
Vader 4 pro doesnt have drift on 0 deadzones
@ Vader pro 4 has 5ms-10ms latency.....far worse than Elite 2......but it is cheap
thought the new monitor I got was defective until I saw this short and it fix the problem thank you so much! :)
Glad I could help!
Can this be done with a macbook air M2 chip and if so, how long can one stream before it crashes or overheats? Thanks for your help!
Think it depends on the overall specs but if it is anything similar to my Mac mini m1, you should be fine with no overheating for as long as you stream. You just have to lower the stream quality so your audience gets a smooth view
Can you do this with a Mac book ??? Also where do you put in the el gato chat link cord
Think it depends on the overall specs but if it is anything similar to my Mac mini m1, you should be fine. However I think MacBooks can be stronger. The chat link cable would connect to the capture card, controller and headset.
Bro i want too buy this controller so bad for xbox console but i am scared af too waste 200 on something with deadzone problems
It’s a great controller. It my new main daily driver. The dead zone issue isn’t major as setting at 1 sets the dead zone at a minimum with no drift.
@@lbs ok ty for the respond
you have to calibrate the controller out of the box.
How so? This controller doesn’t calibrate like a traditional controller.

@ th-cam.com/video/ivF80D3-twM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O0CXwDFzgFTuiDoY
@ u can manually calibrate it there’s many TH-cam videos on how. I had the same problem.
Just got this controller and it feels so good in hand and I much prefer it to my turtle beach stealth ultra. But the drift at 0 dead zone is a bit of a bummer especially with a £200 controller that being said I set it to 3% and set it to 0 in game and it’s perfect. I do feel my aim is better with this controller tho
I agree w that all! Glad you found a great controller for yourself too!
playing on 1 deadzone is still really good tho
Agreed!
@@lbs How do you select 1 dead zone? Can either be 0 or 3 for me
@@SoulHorizon1313Did you figure it out ?
@@XEROCAR3 no. If I do I’ll let you know what I find
@xerocar3 You’re in the razer app and it is showing you only 0 & 3? What version of the app do you have? What platform are you on? Does it look anything like in my video?
Bruh clear your fuckin throat lmao dafuq is wrong witchu??
Great controller but they need to add an option to change between profiles without having to go into the app. Not sure how they dropped the ball on that but hopefully they update it in the future
1000% seems like a big oversight
doritos
I don’t have those often but when I do…they HIT!
5:40 When you said Sony is a genius, I thought you meant business-wise, not talking about the actuals "solution" itself. No, it is actually extremely bad that they offer swappable joystick modules. For one, they have been creating artificial scarcity by not producing nearly as many modules as they should (yes, this is VERY intentional so that people think Sony has their backs in the event of their controller getting drift, but then they aren't available, so they have to buy a brand new controller, plus its anti-consumer because of scalpers selling these modules at three times the price on eBay or other digital storefronts), and probably the even worse thing, the fact that they could have avoided any type of drift happening in the first place but decided NOT to (again, they opted to go for these swappable potentiometers because people would buy the modules and since they aren't producing many of them, anyone with issues might just go for a brand new controller again, netting Sony some extra sales) by installing potentiometers instead of HALL EFFECT joysticks. Extremely anti consumer, and for anyone wanting to be serious about a decent pro controller, I highly suggest Aim's controllers, that are better quality, have mechanical mouse-like trigger stops that have way shorter travel distance than what Sony's offering. besides analog triggers (yes, with the motors and everything), the fact you can customize these controllers, they are official and have native support on PS5, PLUS the fact you can choose stuff like digital buttons (higher quality face buttons, unlike these mushy ones) and hall effect joysticks. Sure, these controllers aren't cheap, but if you actually want a more decent controller - and a more serious one at that - you could simply pay a bit extra (or could be quite a bit more if you want to go all-in with the customization options) for a way, WAY better controller.
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts
@ lol sorry maybe it was a bit aggressive, but thats my “rant” against Sony because I don’t think some things they did are fair.
@Mo_Moji hahaha…all good. I felt it was a vent aimed at them. I get like that too.
Is there a button combo to change profiles?
Nope. Not yet at least…
can you confirm that stick resolution for the pro around 150 and for the tourniment edition less than 100 ? i saw that in one video
Great question! I haven’t specifically tested this, but I might dig in on it as my right stick almost felt “too responsive” out the box. But I was improved by adjusting in game settings in COD. But check out The PhotoTechy’s vid on resolution for this and other controllers. He tested and found the WV3 to be solid. th-cam.com/video/fkV3QLNQrps/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XWixp_4hyKtALjB4
@@lbs i saw the entire video , and all that makes me rethink all the reviewers showing the circularity tests and how those test don't show what PhtoTechy is showing. micro movement is specially affected by this and i believe what we saw there could vary from unit to untit , because he didn't even got the same results between the left and right stick . there should be no controller that is too responive out of the box , because they should get a linear relation till the top value. if it was improved , that should mean a curve or acceleration was added to help do micro movement, and that is never as good as a good linear sensor. the newer controllers many of them are now breaking this old numbers around the 100 like we see from different controllers in the video , the newer ones can reach even more than 1000 and have pulling rate up to 2000 Hz polling rate to report the increased numbers of signals . the problems shown in the video are not there for higher resolution sticks to begin with , and the Wolvarine controllers look so cool but the what what matters is the aim and sensors inside , and those maght not be bad , but they are by far not the best in market , beaten by way cheaper controllers.
@monderkbaeli9411 thanks for sharing your thoughts. Sounds like you made your decision. But if you end up buying and testing and making a vid/review on it please let me know. Would love to support!
0 deadzone for me on console this is the best controller ever
Did you set it to 0 in the razer app after the firmware update? also did you update it on console or PC?
@ I only play cod so put the dead zone on 0 in the app & the game, I dont have pc so I asume it updated itself when I connected it the first time to my xbox, I got the controller like 4 days ago
@kitsunehime5630 thanks! Was just curious because I tried to go to zero dead zones after the firmware update on console and it didn’t quite work, but I heard Ppl updated the firmware on PC had better luck, so I was curious. Thanks!

A LOT OF DOUBLE CLICKING ON MY BACK BUTTONS I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS ANY EXTRA
Did that develop or was that out of the box? I haven’t heard that yet and I don’t get that myself. so I’m just curious if you might just need an exchange or something that might develop w this controller over time
I don't think many people know this, so I'll share this to make people more aware on these scummy practices. Hall effect sensor sounds like some expensive new technology, but they're actually dirt cheap. I can order a 100 pack of them right now for 20 euros. So 20 cents per sensor. So the only reason why these big companies are still using pots instead of hall effect sensors is because they want the controller to break so you have to keep buying new ones. a.k.a planned obsolescence. So just know that by buying these controllers with pots, especially at this price range, you are in a way supporting this very greedy practice.
Thanks for sharing! You are not wrong. I think it’s the many understand that and what sparks lots of the frustration. I think the main thing is that users in general just want companies to utilize the sticks that work (Hall effect). They don’t want to have to tinker and upgrade these things themselves. Also, I think companies mention the Halifax sticks as a feature for this reason. They understand most are using pots and this is an upgrade to that. I don’t think that they’re charging a premium based on Halifax sticks because we do have some that are as low as 40 bucks on the market , but they are charging a premium based on all the advanced features packaged together…plus brand.
0 dead zones for me on PC. Best controller I’ve ever had.
What’s the x, y on your sticks if you’re rocking 0 dead zones?
@ x, y? Clarify
@ in the Razer app, it shows your “center point” for each stick when you’re in the dead zone settings. It tells you the x and y offset of the stick.
on the dualsens edge and scuf envision pro do you think it would be more circular or standard?

do people not understand how hall effect sticks work there is a spring inside that centres it and its going loosen over time the sensor almost never breaks all you have to do is recalibrate the centre after a while its the same with any hall effects stick like g7se i have all deadzones on zero like once every couple weeks i calibrate it never have an issue. I will say its on razer to not telling people that you can calibrate it or putting it into the software like gamesir has with their controllers.

Needs ability to adjust curve profile like on the elite 2. I like running circular on the right and axis independent on the left stick.
Agreed. Seems like something they can add later via the software if they get enough feedback. But I like this ability too with the es2 as I like true diagonals there

I haven’t done this on my end yet, but are you looking to just cast the Quest to your TV so others could see around you? If so, you should just be able to do this via the app or headset (pending the TV comparability).
@@lbsI'm looking to cast Xbox to Quest
Previous best controller in over a decade: Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma (first controller ever to let you remove almost all hardcoded deadzones) Mine worked flawless for 2 years and 2 months. Then M3 cracked. Fixed for 3$ and also transformed back buttons into paddles. New Champion: Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition (Wireless hardware for gaming is for whipped casuals) ;) Now we can remove ALL the deadzones and have all the inprovements. Ps.If you tend to get and care about not getting stick drift: NEVER ever use LS/RS Clicking in games. Bind M1 to LS and M2 to RS and stop clicking. You'll thank me.
Thanks for sharing your experience with both! I haven’t experienced the WV2 but always heard great things about it and why I was pumped to try the v3. Yes! I agree w/ remapping thumb stick buttons. Great tip! Appreciate you!
When you’re showing us how the fps (first person shooter) game looks Are you using a graphics card (gpu)? or is this Xbox or pc that you’re showing it from? I’m asking because I’m thinking about getting this monitor but I’m not satisfied with how it looks with just a ps5.
I’m on Xbox when playing. Best is to experience it in person. You have a good retailer near you that might have it on display or allows seamless returns? I know it’s more work, but worth it considering the investment (from all angles)
Life saver 🔥
Its too small i sent it back. Its not worth not having stick drift
Razer made a very poor decision of those shortcut functions for silly stuff instead of making a useful function like changing mapping profiles on the fly without the app.
