The thing I would add would be something were you can change the color of the xbox button like when you turn on the xbox 🎮 and the other one it the same thing but for the xbox
if i remap these buttons, do they save this within the controller? the 8bitdo Pro 2 lets me save multiple profiles internally so that i can take this controller anywhere, to any device and it will know the remappings always.
The grips on the handles are utyer garbage and beyond slippery!!! It is the only complaint from a guy who owned 5 elite 1 and 5 scuff xbox one controllers. And one xbox 360 scuff controller. But the handles are slippery and have no grip. Anyone know of grips i can purchase for tje elite 2 please let me know ASAP!!!
Grip-wise I've only had experience w/ Gamer Grip:amzn.to/3Nq65mZ. It was ok, but I didn't feel like I had much more grip than what I started with. If substances aren't for you, I've seen some grips on amazon (no experience w/ any, but they are there): amzn.to/44ddtJi Hope this helps!
I got confused w/ this the first time in the app, but are you assigning the created profiles to a button on the controller in the app? Then you have to click the profile button to select that profile (I also made that mistake before). Hope this helps. If not, hit up xbox support on Twitter. They have been pretty responsive for me there in the past.

Nice! Welcome back to the console world. I would recommend starting at default then go into a solo private match or training mode of whatever game you're playing, then play w/ the different feels. And maybe start by setting up your 3 profiles on the ES2 to be the same w/ the only differences being the sens curves. This way you can quickly shift between at least 3 on the fly to really understand the feel difference. Then you can work from there to find you fav.
I’m in the Edit it does not show the buttons and L / R stick menu on top. Why does it not show this. It’s not allowing me to configure with the sensitivity of the sticks and such

The demo screen with “mapping” and “stick sensitivity curves” doesn’t pop up for me. Idk what it is and I need to configure this for a delay in a game I’m replaying (Bo2)

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like it might be looking/recognizing a standard controller or something is off w the software. Hit up xbox support on Twitter as they might be able to help you better than I can. Hope this gets fixed for you.
You can unmap buttons right? If crouch is right stick, could you unmap the function from the right stick and map it to a paddle? To prevent accidental stick clicks forcing a crouch.
Not if you’re ok with the default settings/mapping of the buttons/sticks. Otherwise, you need the app to change those things. App is available via Xbox or PC (windows)

I thought I had this issue before I realized I wasn’t placing my created profiles within an available slot on the controller (3 available). They should save automatically in the profile you make them. If not, might be a bug in your software and Xbox CS would need to support.
Yep. Surprising w everything else they added. But as the games I play have that built into the game settings I don’t find myself missing it. How about yourself?
@@lbs I usually use my controller to play either racing games or just older games like skate 3 for fun, racing games don't matter for it but skate specifically is super precise and there's no controller options at all
@BC-ni6hp that definitely makes sense. Love Skate 3! Classic. I haven’t played it in forever but you got me missing it. You find the es2 more helpful than a standard controller in that game? Thinking the back paddles might be useful even though it was joystick heavy from what I remember.
Still really needs a proper dead zone adjustment. I can't belive its not even been considered by microsoft. These sensitivity curves do not replace a propper deadzone adjustment. Especially if you are trying to mitigate stick drift.
After replacing for stick drift about 7-8 months ago, I’m only occasionally having my RB 2x actuate but it’s not a big issue for me. As I have the ext warranty, I might send it in…or just wait until something more happens, which I hope doesn’t 🤞🏾
Not necessarily, but it's what feels nice to me on movement w the left stick. I would think radial is best (what I use) for right stick aiming tho. I suggest experimenting.
Really?! Which xbox are you on. Sounds like something may be faulty w/ software. Not sure if it is the xbox or controller, but make sure both are updated. If not, MS should be able to assist. Sorry to hear this.

Thank you very much. The best video I have seen so far that really explains the curve calculation. Dunno if you know how. But is there a way to get rid of that snappy behavior at the 90° positions. In Games where you have no dead zone configurations in-game i am suffering of that 90° snap. Especially top down games where you aim with the right sticks. (Aiming with the bow in FORAGER e.g. fine adjustments near the 90° is a horror. Funny thing is, that the default XBOX controller doesn't behave like this. There is no snapping.

Funny thing is, that it is the default behavior. In Games where I can adjust dead zones i can even dial it completely down to zero and it is doing correct. Just in Games oder Apps where I cannot set this things.

Same! I go back and forth w dynamic and linear. Sometimes feel dynamic slows my aim just a little too much where I'm slightly off when tracking someone and I miss shots...other times it's sticky🤷🏾♂️ then I switch to back to linear (what I've always used before MW) And muscle memory isn't used to it like before and I'll over-correct on aiming. I just need to pick 1 (currently on dynamic and getting more kills) but jury is still out for me.

I'm glad I finally found somebody that actually explains the differences between radial, axis-independent, and true diagonals. I really appreciate it, but I'm confused by one thing. You said that you liked true diagonals because it suddenly snaps into the groove of the axis once you're near it. However, all 3 of the stick calculations behave that way.
Appreciate it! I hear you. I don't feel it at all w radial but the others somewhat have that feeling to me, just true diagonals feel more pronounced to really indicate a difference in directions to me.

I started messing around in the xbox accessories app after watching this video and happened to notice that all 3 calculations snap into place, so I figured I'd mention it. The only game I play with controller is Gears of War and I decided to try out true diagonals after watching this video. It definitely does feel more pronounced compared to the other two and I'm really liking it so far. So once again, thank you so much for actually explaining the difference between the 3 stick calculations. It was super helpful and informative. From now on, if I see somebody asking what the difference is between the 3 stick calculations, I'm just going to send them a link to this video.

@@JMasterMindC I'm actually using axis-independent on the left stick and radial on the right. I mess around with my settings a lot, but this is what I've been using for the last week and will probably end up keeping these settings because I'm satisfied with the way it feels.
I cant edit any of my profiles. I enter new profile but when I change stuff and go back the 3 profiles stay default. Anyone else have this issue and/or fixes for this??
Strange. Are you maybe creating a profile but not assigning them to one of the 3 profile slots? Or the ones you create/rename are just reverting on their own?
@@lbs Tried everything bro. Had to literally take my xbox one out the closet, set it up, then map my controller on there. Once I plugged it back into my PC, I had all the features to create and change profiles. So weird but i’m just glad I can use my new controller now lol
@@anths4023 bro i legit had to dig out my xbox one from like 2013 out the closet and plug it in a set my binds on the xbox. after that i had no issues changing stuff on my pc. an absolute ridiculous fix for this issue but it worked and that’s the only thing that got it to work. hope this helps gl bro
hey LB I've got the elite series 1 and there is nothing wrong but do you with I should upgrade to a series 2 I've been thinking about it for a while and I don't really know what to do ps this video helped a lot i had pretty much no idea how most of that stuff worked
Thanks for the support! As there isn't a true functional difference in the 1 v 2, and your controller still works fine, I recommend only upgrading when your 1 stops functioning as desired or becomes irreparable. I love my es2 but the q/a issues can be hit or miss and sounds like you got a rare diamond, so don't give that up until you need to.
Man I totally missed this. Great question! I would think the default for both would be radial (just for the experience in using them both) but I'm not certain. I'm sure the CS can confirm.
Like remapping all the buttons? You may have limited remapping abilities through the accessories app like the standard x/s controller. Otherwise, there no way I see doing this on Xbox (believe there may be options when gaming on PC)
It's still my preferred controller & I haven't had stick drift since my last repair (~8+ months ago). Think this is because I switch to auto-tac sprint in Warzone and it helped save my L3 from abuse, but I still sometimes click it out of habit and feel stick drift will come soon. The only issue I'm having w/ it now is the RB occasionally 2x actuating. But this doesn't really affect my gameplay in the games I play.

@@lbs I mean they do what the app allows which is use them for as a repeat of another controller button. With rewasd I can program them to keyboard butons, push, release, hold per button. Wish for PC this was native to the xbox app.
The middle button on the controller allows you to cycle through the 3 profile slots on the controller. But be sure to put your desired configuration into a profile slot before disconnecting from the accessories app.
I have a Xbox series controller and the other day I noticed that my custom settings in the Accessories app isn’t properly working. For example I had my Share button Tap set to See Party, the Hold set to Open Spotify and Double Tap I didn’t have set to anything. Edit: Just restarted my Series S n all seems fine. Should have done that to begin with lol 😅
Xbox Accessories App for default Xbox Series X/S controller be like: - What do you mean customization? I actually hate this app on PC, because they can't even make notifications about your battery status, for example, when 10% are left. You simply can't check your battery percentage on PC without opening the app itself.

I was giving mine its first charge and the guide shows that when it's fully charged that tiny charging light will be green indicating it's ready. Mine was just white. Is there something wrong with it do you think?

I just want to set a deadzone to combat the Series 2 Stick drift problem :[ Like legit I want the left thumbstick to do NOTHING for the first 10% of the stick movement. I've got drift that only happens when the stick isn't moving for about 5 seconds. it' dead center and not floppy... the stick is perfectly center. but the drift just kicks on after a while, probably because of the sensor. Let me tell the controller not to take input if the stick is centered and not moving.
I hear you on that. I wish there was a more specific way to adjust joystick dead zones within the accessories app. Only options I found to adjust dead zones are within the game that I’m playing.
What’s your favorite controller? And for calculations is true diagonals the best to use what you recommend for the right stick and do you use stick tension
Right now I'm loving the es2. But as it has its QA issues that has me sending it. In for repair at times, I'm considering backups. I heard the fusion power a may be a a viable alternative, but it is wired and I'm not quite set up for wired right now. Great question on the true diagonals. I would say test them all but I'm liking true diagonals on left and radial on right as I want more of that fluid feel when aiming. I use the highest tension on the sticks.

Yes. You set up the profiles and can toggle between the 3 you apply to the controller on the controller w the profile button

I recommend trying them all as it depends on your playstyle. Set up a practice match and test out the various feels.

As far as I know, yes. I believe PC has some 3rd party software like Rewasd. But I've never used it. Just some in the community have mentioned it.
I'm glad I finally found somebody that actually explains the differences between radial, axis-independent, and true diagonals. I really appreciate it, but I'm confused by one thing. You said that you liked true diagonals because it suddenly snaps into the groove of the axis once you're near it. However, all 3 of the stick calculations behave that way.
Appreciate it! I hear you. I don't feel it at all w radial but the others somewhat have that feeling to me, just true diagonals feel more pronounced to really indicate a difference in directions to me.
@@lbs Yeah I see what you're saying. I started messing around in the xbox accessories app after watching this video and happened to notice that all 3 calculations snap into place, so I figured I'd mention it. The only game I play with controller is Gears of War and I decided to try out true diagonals after watching this video. It definitely does feel more pronounced compared to the other two and I'm really liking it so far. So once again, thank you so much for actually explaining the difference between the 3 stick calculations. It was super helpful and informative. From now on, if I see somebody asking what the difference is between the 3 stick calculations, I'm just going to send them a link to this video.

@@JMasterMindC I'm actually using axis-independent on the left stick and radial on the right. I mess around with my settings a lot, but this is what I've been using for the last week and will probably end up keeping these settings because I'm satisfied with the way it feels.
I cant edit any of my profiles. I enter new profile but when I change stuff and go back the 3 profiles stay default. Anyone else have this issue and/or fixes for this??
Strange. Are you maybe creating a profile but not assigning them to one of the 3 profile slots? Or the ones you create/rename are just reverting on their own?
@@lbs Tried everything bro. Had to literally take my xbox one out the closet, set it up, then map my controller on there. Once I plugged it back into my PC, I had all the features to create and change profiles. So weird but i’m just glad I can use my new controller now lol

@@anths4023 bro i legit had to dig out my xbox one from like 2013 out the closet and plug it in a set my binds on the xbox. after that i had no issues changing stuff on my pc. an absolute ridiculous fix for this issue but it worked and that’s the only thing that got it to work. hope this helps gl bro

hey LB I've got the elite series 1 and there is nothing wrong but do you with I should upgrade to a series 2 I've been thinking about it for a while and I don't really know what to do ps this video helped a lot i had pretty much no idea how most of that stuff worked
Thanks for the support! As there isn't a true functional difference in the 1 v 2, and your controller still works fine, I recommend only upgrading when your 1 stops functioning as desired or becomes irreparable. I love my es2 but the q/a issues can be hit or miss and sounds like you got a rare diamond, so don't give that up until you need to.

How to fully customize in xbox one controller
Like remapping all the buttons? You may have limited remapping abilities through the accessories app like the standard x/s controller. Otherwise, there no way I see doing this on Xbox (believe there may be options when gaming on PC)

Just wanted to ask how did the Xbox elite held up so far ?
It's still my preferred controller & I haven't had stick drift since my last repair (~8+ months ago). Think this is because I switch to auto-tac sprint in Warzone and it helped save my L3 from abuse, but I still sometimes click it out of habit and feel stick drift will come soon. The only issue I'm having w/ it now is the RB occasionally 2x actuating. But this doesn't really affect my gameplay in the games I play.

Yes. The shortest pull setting for the triggers is what you want for warzone. Will definitely help w your reaction times.

How are they not working by default?
@@lbs I mean they do what the app allows which is use them for as a repeat of another controller button. With rewasd I can program them to keyboard butons, push, release, hold per button. Wish for PC this was native to the xbox app.

I have a question what do I do when the profile is on the controller how can I equip it to the controller
The middle button on the controller allows you to cycle through the 3 profile slots on the controller. But be sure to put your desired configuration into a profile slot before disconnecting from the accessories app.

I have a Xbox series controller and the other day I noticed that my custom settings in the Accessories app isn’t properly working.
For example I had my Share button Tap set to See Party, the Hold set to Open Spotify and Double Tap I didn’t have set to anything.
Edit: Just restarted my Series S n all seems fine. Should have done that to begin with lol 😅

Xbox Accessories App for default Xbox Series X/S controller be like:
- What do you mean customization?
I actually hate this app on PC, because they can't even make notifications about your battery status, for example, when 10% are left. You simply can't check your battery percentage on PC without opening the app itself.

I like mine w the most tension (helps me aim more precisely), but I could see how someone would like them loose.
Just use the loose one...far left, makes u more accurate with better fine adjustments
This video is a great deep dive. Really informative and well done. Im loving this controller. Quick question. I was giving mine its first charge and the guide shows that when it's fully charged that tiny charging light will be green indicating it's ready. Mine was just white. Is there something wrong with it do you think?

I just want to set a deadzone to combat the Series 2 Stick drift problem :[
Like legit I want the left thumbstick to do NOTHING for the first 10% of the stick movement. I've got drift that only happens when the stick isn't moving for about 5 seconds. it' dead center and not floppy... the stick is perfectly center. but the drift just kicks on after a while, probably because of the sensor.
Let me tell the controller not to take input if the stick is centered and not moving.
I hear you on that. I wish there was a more specific way to adjust joystick dead zones within the accessories app. Only options I found to adjust dead zones are within the game that I’m playing.
What’s your favorite controller? And for calculations is true diagonals the best to use what you recommend for the right stick and do you use stick tension
Right now I'm loving the es2. But as it has its QA issues that has me sending it. In for repair at times, I'm considering backups. I heard the fusion power a may be a a viable alternative, but it is wired and I'm not quite set up for wired right now. Great question on the true diagonals. I would say test them all but I'm liking true diagonals on left and radial on right as I want more of that fluid feel when aiming. I use the highest tension on the sticks.
