Good review, the elite is still the king of comfort however, the wolverine v3 is the way to go if you play competitive fps on controller,1000 polling rate and mouse triggers. The biggest issue I have is they added dead zones on the controller in the software so if you put the dead zones in the software to 0 you will have stick drift. Also the 2 top buttons you can put ping and calling in streaks if you play cod.
Suggestion for one of the buttons on the back next to the bumpers: make the left one Sprint. I've been using the razor controllers for years and always set the back left button to Sprint it will help you with your accuracy and being able to sprint on the fly without having to mash down on the left analog stick. Also thanks for the great review.
Great suggestion! I use auto tax sprint in COD, but this could be useful in other games that don’t have that option. Thanks! Appreciate the suggestion and support 🙏🏾
8:30 best use for those extra bumpers is Y on the right for swap and X on the left for reload/interact. Becomes second nature. 20:20 there's a firmware update online to fix that drift
Great suggestions! I just fear swapping while trying to shoot w that setup personally. But could make swapping faster. The firmware was updated, but there is still a slight drift at 0 unfortunately.
@lbs Oh I didn't catch the hub part. That's my bad. I just perked up when I heard it didn't power on the console and I was like wait, mine does lol Either way good video and review bud 👍
Just got this controller and it feels so good in hand and I much prefer it to my turtle beach stealth ultra. But the drift at 0 dead zone is a bit of a bummer especially with a £200 controller that being said I set it to 3% and set it to 0 in game and it’s perfect. I do feel my aim is better with this controller tho
Razer made a very poor decision of those shortcut functions for silly stuff instead of making a useful function like changing mapping profiles on the fly without the app.
"Solved". They just put a deadzone. Razer is known for bad calibration and relying on high deadzones. JH16 are not all that. Razer v3 having no calibration tool. Means it's a pass for anyone looking to ever repair it.
I love the top M1, M2 buttons it allows me to quickly hit the bumper buttons without playing claw. It doesn't make sense, but that half an inch makes all the difference for me sometimes lol.
I have no idea why Razer markets them as "claw grip buttons", can actually someone who plays claw show the ideal grip for that? Because the position is perfect in the normal style grip without playing claw
Aim feels a little bit tighter, but I think that is because I’ve had my Elite series 2 for sometime and the sticks might be a little looser. I definitely recommend getting the joystick dead zone to the lowest level, possible right now that is level one on the controller itself. If you don’t set the dead zone as low as possible, it seems to respond slightly slower to me.
Previous best controller in over a decade: Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma (first controller ever to let you remove almost all hardcoded deadzones) Mine worked flawless for 2 years and 2 months. Then M3 cracked. Fixed for 3$ and also transformed back buttons into paddles. New Champion: Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition (Wireless hardware for gaming is for whipped casuals) ;) Now we can remove ALL the deadzones and have all the inprovements. Ps.If you tend to get and care about not getting stick drift: NEVER ever use LS/RS Clicking in games. Bind M1 to LS and M2 to RS and stop clicking. You'll thank me.
Thanks for sharing your experience with both! I haven’t experienced the WV2 but always heard great things about it and why I was pumped to try the v3. Yes! I agree w/ remapping thumb stick buttons. Great tip! Appreciate you!
@@lbs hey honestly having it at 2 for the sensitivity for the sticks is kinda perfect for me still really responsive I play apex on none and it’s so good
Great question! As of now you can only customize the additional buttons, that includes the 4 back paddles and 2 claw grip bumpers. Take a look at the app section of the video and you can see what those options are.
Hello, is the back buttons too easy to accidentally click ? because, I watched a different review video and the guy in that video mentioned that's the back buttons easy to click accidentally when playing.
I’ve yet to experience the v2, but if it satisfies everything for you, you probably shouldn’t upgrade. Only main difference I do know is the placement of the back buttons. Maybe some hands on experience will help.
if mechanical triggers, bumpers, and paddles are important to you this is definitely an upgrade. the te basically has all the bells and whistles the v3 pro has besides wireless for half the price. both v3 have all the features (minus gyro and touch pad) of the v2 pro plus the he sticks and triggers. i have the v2 chroma and the v2 pro. its night and day for me but the mechanical stuff is important to me. if you are happy with they way your v2 feels and its working fine i wouldnt bother upgrading until you need a new controller. after that: they are basically the same price and the v3 has a ton of improvements just no lights
IMO. Nothing feels as good as the elite core 2. I have this controller and had huge hopes. The single biggest issue. It's too small. Hand cramps. Others have said the same. Such a bummer too. It's faster, tighter, clean. But after about 20 min. I'm back on the elite with longer back paddles and nothing IMO can beat the comfort for gaming. Look at the handles when you have both controllers together. Look how short those Razer handles are. They could have made this perfect if they stuck with the xbox design like scuf. Had them all and still choose the Elite 2. Hopefully they will make a new elite with faster polling on the trigger.
I felt the same way regarding the handles. I also felt like the left thumb stick was slightly too close to the Dpad which made my hands cramp up even more. I ended up returning it
I have to agree I had to return my razer because the handles are so damn short, not to mention it's really uncomfortable to hold and the back buttons are so sensitive. I bought another Scuf because they are comfortable for me
Would of been a great controller if my thumbsticks and bumpers werent backwards on xbox but normal on pc..itd be fine but i play xbox...sending it back tmrw
Used controller on my pc and it wouldn't connect to razer synapse. Also feesl the same as the other razer controllers I have. Nice controller but I returned it because I couldn't get it to connect to razer synapse
Subject: Wolverine V3 Pro - Tournament mode not working Response By Email (Chester U.) (16-Dec-2024 01:19 AM) Hi Alessandro ,
Great day! Thank you for contacting Razer. Thank you for your patience. Our internal team has provided us with an update on the problem you are experiencing. Additionally, following a thorough examination, I’d like to clarify that the behavior you’re experiencing is expected when the controller is set to PC Mode. PC Mode is designed specifically to ensure seamless functionality and optimal performance when used with a PC. This setting enhances compatibility with Windows operating systems, allowing the controller to work effectively with your setup. Additionally, to help users understand this, there is a note in the app that appears when switching the controller to PC Mode. If you have any further questions or need assistance with setup, feel free to let us know!
I hear you. Guess it depends on where you’re seeing the feature. It’s not clear on the surface but as you look to seek what that feature is specifically on the product page they make it clearer there. Was that the key reason you purchased? Sorry to hear the misalignment in expectations. There may be another controller out more ideal for what you need.
I had to return this controller it was probably the worst feeling controller I’ve had in my hands. I had a scuf instinct pro before and thought I’d try something new. The controller is so short and you end up clicking the back buttons so easily as they are overly responsive. The scuf is 100000 times more comfortable than this

@@lbs Yeah, I've been using that configuration since the first wolverine. And yeah that sucks, they really need to add a setting to calibrate.
Powering on the controller does power on the console. Just thought you might want to update that in the video

I scooped this controller from Best Buy, the sticks feel stickier than the v2 ps5 controller I was using but just gotta get used to it.

When my controller is charging, the RGB light only lights up for three seconds. Is it same with you?
It should pulsate a few times before going dark again when it is charged

@vipervft when the battery indicator light is solid green for a few seconds. Or check the battery status icon when you’re connected to your Xbox.
