Here is my opinion, however hateful this may sound. I hate when people say SERVER PROBLEMS... its 2024 and your telling me that a server issue wont allow you to implement a feature that is key and pivotal to what is asked by gamers? that's a horrible excuse. also to say that when your boarding to be attacked from other players would cause issues...uh HELLO Thats called realism it causes players to think about boarding knowing you leave yourself open your acting like in real life this didn't happen...how about you have a fleet and you learn to protect your friends or decimate your rivals?( AKA LEARNING HOW THE GAME WORKS) then to say how would fighting work? we have multiple intuitive combat systems in different games that require skill base and simplicity pick one...thereby making someone think is boarding worth my time cause i suck at close combat? Boarding is a key feature people want because it forces different strategies and thought processes into the game. to win on a ship? easy kill the fk*ing captain... end boarding sequence... they could easily add side features such as unhooking hooks and using the wind to sail away from boarding...OR create bubbles of invurabilty for the two ships...or atleast something along that lines which i guess get may be overly complicated...that part i understand. but how can you not find a way to implement when people say the game is what they are looking for and are down trodden when one requested feature is not attempted? I get it you cant appease everyone... ill play either way but mentioning these things and then giving sorry excuses just baffle me. I feel like its a sorry excuse and lazyness. but they developed a game and i will support but don't get mad at the consumer base when they stop playing your game when they run into other bugs or horrendous gameplay cause BUGS WILL HAPPEN...but we all know that...but what people go through as gamers is they stop playing when you didn't truly give them a feature they wanted they look for reasons to stop playing in general because of other bugs and issues WHICH WILL FOR SURE ARISE. didn't get what i wanted...more bugs and other issues...stop playing. thats the cycle.

Skull and Bones? more like Barebones. Maybe after 3 years when it improves (if Ubi don't pull the plug on it, which it seems to lead to) and releases on Steam. Apart from the fact this is like the 1% of what this game should've been and now only excuses are thrown on why it isn't at least 20%, my worst gripe is that it does not offer any actual "mechanical learning". I am not saying that all online games have to be skill-based, but at least some deeper mechanical value would've been appreciated. This is ofcourse more of a personal gripe than an issue with the game itself. But with most of the promised and advertised features that made the game interesting currently mising, I don't even see the point of playing this... Also "try it before making a decision" type of statements are just low... It is already too pricey for what it offers as it is and definitely not worth even half of the already inflated "quadruple A" price tag. Such a shame ...

Personally boarding was the main thing i was looking forward to do. Catching other players of guard and causing a distraction for other players to take the ship out is fun to me. When they originally announced the game it was meant to be like black flag. Black flag had boarding in it. To me not having this feature is a empty promise from the devs. Hopfully its added in the future but tell then i wont be playing the game.

Skull and bones is the same genre of Warthunder, War of Warships and World of Tanks. This game is very different to Sea of Thieves, even though they are both Pirates but for its gameplay, a very big NO.

pvp sucks. toss it, or make it like for honor. pvp being catered to in mmo's ruins games. the pve'ers leave. the pvp will complain they are bored after pvp'ing the same peoples over and over, and will leave. then dead game. every time.

This isn't a pirate game, it's just generic ship cutscene gameplay. No sword fight, no flintlock. You are the ship arcade game. Shame... I was expecting a BlackFlag upgrade but we got a downgrade. This game reeks cash grab game mechanic after many many delays after.

The 6 hour beta was a tease. It was long enough for people to get a taste for it, all while being disquised as a beta. This is why when your time has ended, you're met with a preorder screen that takes you to preorder the game. My time with the beta was good though. I enjoyed the sailing and combat mechanics, the game is beautiful and the storms are amazing. The graphics on my PS5 running on fidelity mode is amazing! I think people who said the game looks like clay or foliage on islands looked terrible have a bad setup. No crashes was nice too. I only wished i had longer, but thats why i believe it was a tease to get more preorders. We're less than 2 months from launch, at this point, their priority is to fix any game breaking bugs and what we saw is what we'll get at launch, unless they delay again which i doubt. My only gripe is the audio can sometimes sound terrible. Like, the voices sound drowned out, there wasn't an option to set audio settings to headphones, maybe thats why it sounded bad... I'd love to know of any issues people had with the beta other than the 2 repeated concerns "no on foot combat or ship boarding combat" All in all, I plan on getting the premium edition.

I was so lost in trying to follow three different treasure maps. I was wasting precious time so I gave up. If the treasure areas were in on foot areas only I didn't know. I was also looking while in my ship.

The game will be a massive fail. I wish i didn't play the beta. What a massive letdown. The people were expecting so much from this game, yet Ubisoft fucked it up. Half the game being fetch quests for wood and rock, instead of being able to cut trees and mine ore with your pirate, they lock you on your ship playing a stupid minigame over and over. If people thought, after a naval battle, to board an other ship to get extra loot, that is a cutscene without the player's control, again, locked on your ship. Then finally, we expected to be able to explore an open world, what we got is an explorable ocean full of loading screens, a ship you can't even walk around on, islands you can't explore, and if you can get on some of the islands, you're stuck in a tiny zone with 1 chest you can grab without anything else to explore or do, or on an outpost with shops for cosmetics or crafting, where probably on full release the shops will be filled with microtransactions. What looked like a game that could have been a realistic open world pirate simulator/rpg, became an arcade world of warships knockoff or an Assassin's creed black flag without all the fun parts.. Ubisoft forgot to put the fun part in the game. The naval combat is ok, but that's also the only thing there is to do. I quit my 6hour beta after 1hour due to being bored. I'm not buying this game, at all. Oh boy this could have been so good, yet became so bad. It's astonishing they spent 150million dollars on something subpar like this.

I think this game should be priced around 20 at max not 70. Imagine you pay almost the same for this mobile game and Dragon's Dogma 2 😁 i know which one I'll choose. Don't get me wrong also, I was waiting for this game for a long time but after playing the beta i think I'll wait few months more so the price is adjusted correctly

This game is alright, that’s the key word, ALRIGHT. The game is NOT worth full price, especially when they are gonna try to milk every penny out of its players with micro transactions.

It is seriously nice to hear someone talk about what is wrong with the game, without going off on damn tangents about how SoT or Black Flag is 'better'. That is what most comments are these days and I'm sick of seeing it. I am actually looking forward to the release, hopefully, and I do hope the devs put it the work to keep improving the game. They HAVE something here, they just have to keep at it!

They really need PVP Servers at launch. I really want to support this game, but no PVP Servers will be a deal breaker.

Aye some good points. That PvP exploit of having another ship barge while not officially engaged is a messy one. Theyll need to do something to sort that out for sure. Do you think the time limit might be because the core game loop is too short and theyre worried people would finish everything if they had longer ? It struck me it may have been a way to mask a possible longevity issue even with end game in mind. Will keep an eye come February but wont be a day 1 for me.

I felt so lost in the game.... and the Farming for resourses OMG...... Mobile mini game and they shoud add pvp on land.... not only on sea( my personal Opinion).

Finally, a positive video on Skull and Bones. Yeah I was sad we had a 6 hour time limit, I had to skip a lot of the quest dialogue so it was easy to get lost in the objectives, overall I had a great time with the Beta, it made me wanting more.

About the beta rewards, it has been said by a ubisoft Employee in the SnB community discord that participation in world events, some like the cuttroath cargo, fang of fara and the convoys also count, so you don't need to have finished them to get the skin rewards

I agree with you mate, we didn't get enough time to play and the tutorials plus objects weren't very clear. But the game is pretty good, just needs to be adjusted and sorted
