- I've been excited for this game for ages. Now its on it way, I'm going to sink so many hours into it. All the opinions i have said in this video are that, Opinions. I'm not attacking or moaning at anyone for having different opinions. / protide1

So the amount of support I've received from this video is actually mind-blowing, I didnt expect this much. I would like to say that to anyone who is wanting to play Skull and Bones. Man i am so hyped for this game. I want to be a captain of my own ship. Don't take me wrong. Managing crew in games like Sea of Thieves, when you all have to cooperate is cool. But i always wanted to play a pirate game that feels more like Black Flag. Also playing with a crew of few people always bring a risk of misscomunication or just straight up incompetence. When you are the only person on your ship, you have to believe in your own skills.
I'm very much a fan of, "I made the mistake" so that's why I sank. Rather than my friend making a mistake, making me sink 😂
@@TheBlackSpot1 ye. I can't count how many times i sank becouse of my teammate who made i mistake. I mean, i am not a type of person who blame the loose on team, but come on if you bake fishes while we are in the middle of the battle with another ship then something is clearly wrong
The reason why I am excited for skull and bones is when it was first shown off years ago I excpected a pvp match based game that heavily improved on ac black flags naval combat and it sounded great since all I wanted was more black flag naval action. Now it looks like such a bigger game with way more to do than just pvp and that naval action looks infinitely better than what black flag had to offer. I am 100% sold

I really hoped this game would be a more realistic version of Sea of Thieves or just like Black Flag a 1 man leading ship.
But unfortunately they went all "Ye let's make everyone happy and make some build with healing abilities"
I belive most of the people that were waiting for this game wanted non of that Torpedo or flame thrower or healing stuff.
Maybe a better Naval Action type of game 😞

the way I see it. All these new weapons and healing abilities allow everyone to pick their own play style instead of everyone having the same boring sets of cannons
@@Mr.Missfire I guess, but it really doesn't make sense and goes way further into MMO territory than a navel combat centric game should. Not every game needs to have tools that allow you to make a perfectly balanced squad. Plus it doesn't make any sense.
I think, instead of having healing weapons, you could rock up to an ally ship and give a portion of your ships health to heal them, or you could carry "healing" supplies to heal them, so you could make a big, slow, tanky ship that heals allies up close and realistically, rather than the arcady thing they've gone with. It encourage players to use other hulls than just the most medium hull, and put more long range weapons on their ship over shorter range weapons, and the more room you allocate to carry "healing" supplies for your allies, the less weaponry and ammunition you could have on board. The arcady, MMO style they've decided to go with is lazy and unrealistic (and I don't need a ton of realism, I don't mind arcady elements, but healing cannons is way too far) when there are way better systems they could implement.
I fully agree. The arcady healing weapons feel so out of place and stupid. This isn't league of legends or a hero shooter, you don't need a perfectly balanced squad with each person fulfilling a specific role, or a squad dedicated to one thing, it's a pirate game where you work with what you have. Not every playstyle needs the game to cater to it, the playstyle needs to find a way to fit the game. I don't mind them adding options for healers, but weaponry that heals? That ain't it
Finally a channel who's excited about the game rather than tearing it down. When you judge a product judge it for what it is. Not what we thought it would be
And there's still so much inside Skull and Bones that I need to talk about 😂
It was judged for what it is a pirate game missing fundamentals what pirates do it should of just been an online mode for black flag never a stand alone game that’s why theirs so many holes in it

I personally am really excited for it, everyone is complaining about how it isn’t like assassins creed black flag, but does it need to be? From what I have seen this takes a few pages from many different pirate games to be it’s own thing. The adventure and naval missions of sea of thieves, and the naval combat of black flag, which are two elements I really wanted to see in a pirate game. While I am worried it might come out a bit janky due to the rough development, I am excited to actually play it.

the problem is not not being like assassins credd, the problem is that they sold us in advertising that this was gonna be THE pirate game, yet its more like a ship simulator, u cant do nothing with ur character, only going to shore to walk, u cant fight with ur character, u cant do nothing, its just ship oriented, thats why it will flop and i wish it flops because thats not the full pirate experience, they need to add stuff, again im not complaining with what they have im complaining with what they dont have
It honestly makes more sense to me that your crew does most of the heavy lifting, because that's why they are the crew and you are the captain lol
@@jacksbanegaming yes but u still have to do stuff innit? or ur concept of a pirate captain is to be sat down on his chair waiting for things to happen? wheres the adventure? plus u dont start as a captain with a crew, u start solo in a small boat, it was wasted potential, but they can still change things with patches and updates to really give us the full pirate experience, not boat simulator
I guess I dont know what you mean by "full pirate experience"... I mean the only thing that's truly missing is stalking through ships in the dead of night, murdering the crew in their sleep to steal the loot they have... but that sounds like a mean way to build a pvp game... and even then, most of that would be handled by the crew, not the captain lol

Do we know how the multiplayer for this game works? Is it co-op in the sense of multiple people on one ship, or will every player have their own ship? Can you team up to split profits/rewards?
So it's one person per ship
You control the entire ship solo, you are able to have a party of 3 players. 3 people, 3 ships.
I imagine you can split up and go elsewhere on the server or it would be a huge downside.
But there's also a little cheeky way to get more than 3 friends in the same server 😅
I feel you man, finally we will have a naval combact game with 2 years of updates. Like you said compared to other pirate games where you have to cooperate with players who don't know how to play the game, in here if you loose it's all your fault. And all players will try to create their own tactics and maneuvers to overtake adversaries (unlike sea of thieves and similar where you are forced to mix multiple tactics into one and the result is pitiful most of the times).

Ive been excited about the game since I discovered it (2017). During that time I had also recently discovered Sea of Thieves as well. It got me so hyped as during the time I began to get more into pirate stuff. That said and out of the way, It is upsetting seeing how many people dog and hate on the game just because "It isnt like X" or "It isnt like Y" but the game was almost always shown as its own title and not "Sea of assassins thieves" I already have the game preordered and am extremely excited to play it. Great video by the way!

If they redesign the UI so that it’s minimalistic, make ship movement more believable (slower turning rate etc) and adjust the resource gathering so that it’s not some quick time event, then the game might actually be worth playing.
"adjust the resource gathering so that it’s not some quick time event", as a person who has played a lot of Survival games where i have to grind resources, i would much prefer a Quick Time Event so i can crack on with what i want to do. Rather than farm the materials for ages 😅
I liked boarding in Black flag 4 but I didn't want it in skull and bones. I used to play lots of seadogs and corsairs back in time. So I hope it will be just a tiny bit like that :)

I’ve been excited every since 2017 people had expectations for the game that were never even a possibility if they want a game like black flag you can literally still buy that game on the next GEN consoles and play it

i am sort of excited for this but also super disapointed if when i board a ship its just a cinematic no actual epic sword duels and stuff

I have been playing this game from the inside I've seen all the negative about this game and alot of stuff people wanted in this game all I can say is there alot of stuff they haven't even shown in all the trailers etc that are in the game

Im presuming you're on about grinding resources? If so, resource grind doesnt bother me in the slightest. Ive played so many hours on Rust, Ark and even the Gear grind on WoW. So a small one on here doesn't really bother me

My only problem is that you can't free roam on the ship, that's probably it tbh.
Too be fair, they could update this later on, also because because they haven't been showing any updates, they may end up bringing it on launch (hopefully)

I’ll be honest. I’m a huge pirate fan. I’ve been waiting since it was first announced. I’ll admit, the recent stuff doesn’t make me as excited as I wanted, especially without the boarding and such. BUT! I will still try it as it is. It wouldn’t be fair to compare it to assassins creed as it isn’t, I’m just put off by what it lacks. I can always just return it anyways.
I believe ubisoft are offering a 2 hour return service on their store 🤫 I don't know if Xbox or PS are doing that
You talk about how smaller ships could avoid bigger ships by outrunning them. This sounds quite a bit like one of the biggest frustrations of Sea of Thieves. Reaper Runners! -
Is Skull & Bones more of the same or is there some better balance to it?
The runners, granted thats similar to SoTs, but the balancing is the difference
Say, a Sloop fighting a galleon, hard fight but the sloop could easily have the upper hand .
On S&B, a Hulk (cargo) vs a Corvette (Firepower) the cargo ships are at a severe disadvantage from the get go, so "Runners" are 100% not a bad thing for S&B

I'm excited and really want this game to be good, but I'm afraid it won't have anymore to offer than something like World of Warships or something. I love sailing and I love this era of ships, so even if you can't disembark from your ship, I'll probably still enjoy it, but it won't have the pirate draw that it was supposed to. I hope they make some serious changes and make the sailing less arcady, but other than that, I'm hopeful. I won't say I think it's gonna be a good game, or that I'm even look forward to it, because I've been burned by games so often and then they end up being a clone with a time-period skin only made to sell consmetics.
Also, Ubi was capitalizing on black flag's success with this game and they made black flag, so they have the systems and know-how to make an amazing pirate game, so comparing this game to Black Flag is not only completely valid, but should be expected. I want it to offer something Black Flag doesn't, but I want it to be similar to Black Flag as well.
Just to be clear, I'm happy your feelings towards the game are positive and I don't have any animosty towards people who are genuninly excited about it; and tbh, this game has a little too much negativity surrounding it, atm. I'm skeptical and want a great game, but I think pointing out the positive aspects and what we like about it so far is helping for the devs as well, and criticism is only valid if you can find things to like about the thing your criticising. I think some things need to change, but there are things I like and want them to keep (the ship customization and different varients for ships is something I'm really looking forward to). Also, I really want some eastern ships in the game, like Junks and other ships. I would love to sail a Junk
Too be fair, If they can bring boarding in for PvP servers then more power to them.
As long as it works, it's clean and doesn't cause any other issues with the game 😶🌫️
@@TheBlackSpot1 I agree with you there. I'm honestly still not 100 percent on board with boarding (no pun intended) in pvp, but they definitely need pve boarding.
I’m excited for the game but it would be better if it was more like Assassin‘s creed Black flag. You should be able to bored other ships and sword fight with other players and NPC’s. You’re not really a parrot if you don’t get the sword fight.
I'm not overly fussed on the swordplay, mostly because of balancing, and a few other issues regarding.
And that French presenter is so annoying 🙄
@@TheBlackSpot1 Thanks for the replying. I agree balancing can be an issue with melee combat but it can also be an issue with ranged combat as well. The lack of land and boarding combat could make the game feel stale a lot quicker for some people sad to say. Hopefully they add melee combat in the future if the game does good. Thanks again I’m subscribing now.
Anthem, Outriders, countless others as of late, I’ll wait till release and player reviews before buying. Never again will I blow money on a game that is hyped up only to blow!
Fair enough if you've been burned from "overhyped" games. But this game hasn't been "overhyped". The majority dislike it xD.

"Pirate Story" not too sure if they have a story line yet, You can explore certain Islands, its just not every one of them

As a history buff, this game gives me an aneurism every time I see it
I'll be buying into the bigger edition. I see this game as being very satisfying. Enjoyed TCTD. I think this will be similar to DAYZ, which I enjoyed, though Dayz had some disappointing aspects such as losing all your progress after 2, 3, or more days of scrounging. I hope there is as much grinding in this as in TCTD; I hope this game is supported equally well; I am also happy it's not another assassins creed as they have become rather bloated and monotonous. As in RDR2 I shall be trying to avoid all other players and develop myself, though will be playing on the PVP servers for the anxiety: and I'd still be playing RDR2 if not for the lack of support. Enjoyed Sniper Elite 4, Aliens fire Team Elite, and the space marines 'enhanced' version [forget its proper name. I am confident I know what I am buying into and only hope they support the game as they have said. Thank you other You-Tubers for all the negativity but I 'won't' be buying into that. If the game is not 'up your alley' then that's fine, but the continuous stream of negativity seems strange considering the game is not out yet [despite the fact that some have had several hours of play time experience - who seemed to have liked it too]. Hope we are not forced into crossplay. PS: BF2042 sucks!
