I preord'd for PC
Ubi creates real nice enviroments. I want to check that area of the world: Fauna, flora, historical context. Simple as that. Thanks for the nontoxic reviews, they are the exception not the norm and much appreciated :)

if they go the same route with micro transactions as lets say for honor then im fine with it, in FH its basically just cosmetic stuff, also if you buy new characters with real money you get one week early access to them before other people can buy it with ingame currency, something like that would absolutely fine with me.
people like to shit on micro transactions but keep in mind when its a live service game they have to provide servers etc so in those cases i can definitly understand why they are part of a game, but still there are right ways to do it and wrong ways, and i think limiting it to cosmetic items and possibly time savers is fine with me

I agree though overall. The game will launch with cosmetic and customisation type MT. How these things change as the game ages will be interesting. 'new players catch up with your friends for 400 arbitrary pirate themed coins' in later life perhaps.

@RedGeraniumWolf now I'm glad I've had a full, extensive constructive reply because 95% of the people I talk to say "it's bad" and don't actually follow up with a "why it's bad" I was somewhat expecting the same. So genuinely, I appreciate you actually diving deep and explaining this.
However, the boarding mechanic, I'm still certain it wouldn't have worked In Skull and Bones as I've said briefly in one of my other videos before, because of all the issues that can surround it. Obviously, I don't blame the devs for even looking at the idea of Player to Player boarding, realising the extent of the coding they'd need to do. Throw their hands up and say, "Not a chance" Like working out all the AI Ships nearby, the possibility of 19 other player ships AND all the actions of the AI crew. That's a fair amount.
Island exploration isn't where the fun is at. The fun (hopefully) will be out in the sea with your friends blasting other crews. I loved the black flag, but I couldn't get enough of it. But I hardly ever did the "assassins" side and just hung out on the ship, sinking anything I could lay my eyes on. (Shouldn't compare as it's not the same) but even sea of thieves, the fun is on the ship. Not on some random island where you'll be by yourself.
I agree this game was initially solely PvP focused with their first run through of it, the whole 5v5 Loot hunt mode, and then the small open world we were shown in another trailer, but since SoT has came out and Ubi probably heard the cry for "PvE" servers, can you blame them? As much of a PVP nut job I am, I wouldn't mind just chilling and sailing without the worry that someone's going to rinse me.
The microtransactions (as far as we know) aren't an issue because they've only implemented a P2W model in their single-player games, and are cosmetics only (as far as we know).
I don't see any issue with them putting an ingame store up if its not going to affect your core game play.
I'm more than happy to pay for the game. Heck, I have, I'm excited about it and am keen with my community, and I know others still won't be pleased with the game.

@@TheBlackSpot1 it depends on how micro you mean. Like the Witcher blood and wine is not micro , but a skin in cod or something yeah there is nothing good about that. We used to earn things like that by PLAYING the game.
Absolutely! I have been gaming for many years (insert dinosaur roar) and understand where you're coming from however it all just depends!
We definitely touched on the fact there are many bad actors that take advantage but I think that game development has moved into a whole new realm and to compete with AAA titles or fight for attention, you need more than a cool concept and some social media engagement. We are talking teams of people that need to keep food on the table.
I agree with you MTX built specifically for the stock holder's bottom line but id have no problem paying for content like this if its a smaller studio and they simply are making money to further their vision.
Its definitely all about how its done in my opinion!

1 year late, they did absolutely nothing and this game is dogshit, and its also p2w xD
