It's sad that the fate route doesn't have an adaptation that people will watch. It's the og fate experience and you really have to experience it to understand the greatness of saber's character. Deen's adaptation has a good vibe and great music even if it does some weird stuff with the story.

I think what the director meant by Aqua not having fun isn't to treat it as "work" (though probably that too) but rather than fighting his guilt and PTSD, to actually use it on purpose, use hate and anger as his emotional acting. And obviously if that is the primary wellspring of emotion he draws from he will never have fun because he's always reminding himself of his mom's death.
