Hi, Great video, I got mine recently and I am looking for a better wind protection than the original windschild, I get too much wind at the bottom of my helmet (I am 1,86m). Do you know the model of the windschild you have on your VFR ? Are you happy with it ?

So it's a good helmet for everyone who doesn't usually expose their eyes to the dust from the road riding 40mph with a visor open. Thanks for the review. Looks like a helmet I have to take into consideration.

Love my ‘99 600s so much, I’m picking up an n1200 to keep it company on Saturday. Been riding for over half a century and had never owned a Bandit until two years ago! 👍

Really the cam better exhaust and freeflow air cleaner boosts that bike 5 h.p. and 5 ft.lbs. and adds a whole lot to the top end .

Its basically a tank. Doesnt have to be good at anything but being reliable

I thought the same with the what pump..standing in full gear..erm, perhaps the one with the bike next it lol..I’ve had that loads of times too…unreal ha ha..looked a nice day out..gutted for you on the ‘ped though…I’m currently in saving mode for a c90 or an Innova myself. C90s here in the NE seem to be going for crazy money. Just hoping one at a fair price will materialise eventually 😐😞

I had/have this problem, after a few years of riding u have done all local routes so many times and u just need new ones to spice things up. Plan to go somewhere, plan a new route, for me it sometimes means driving into the netherlands or germany (im from belgium) or just make my gps do a random 3 hour loop. Doing the same thing just gets boring.

The Cornish are generally okay, apart from the despicable things they do to cream teas. Nice dronage 👍 - very well produced. I've been to Tintagel Castle. The walk there is cool but the castle itself is fairly underwhelming. #creamfirst

You’re 100% right-family time is the best time. Bikes are a pleasure and an escape, but they should never replace family time. Do what makes you happy: enjoy the ride!

Hi, had 3 kids and wife I totally adored. Still adore my kids who now in 30s. Never stopped riding all my life until now. Had 3 girls and 2 are motorcyclists and have done road trips with them. Nowt to be ashamed of as kids live with you for a period of time. I totally understand why u be bored with himmy. I had a vfr for 21 yrs a 99 model. I always got off it and felt a lovely feeling. They lack grunt but kept spinning they are fast and that’s how I rode it. I also went abroad with mates when had young family. It’s just a balance. I did feel guilty but only in Case I got hurt or dead. Wife and kids now gone all time in world at 66 however had to stop riding through neurological disease, arrived 6 months Gp before I retired. Looking back make most of everything as I was planning so much by motorcycle. None of us know what’s waiting

Don't waste the money on the 600. The 1200s is the better one.

Hi Adam, I share similar concerns, since I am thinking of getting something a bit livelier on the second hand market and do worry that it might cause me to find the Meteor and the Himalayan less enjoyable. I actually feel that by owning the Himalayan and Meteor, I have seen the light. I've had fast bikes before and just wanted to slow down and enjoy my riding more. The Meteor and the Himalayan have enabled me to do that. So maybe the speed and performance thing is nice for a while but maybe over time you will come back to appreciating the more leisurely ride bikes like the Himalayan can provide. But yes, I am looking forward to getting something with a bit more poke. At least for a while. I do genuinely believe that I've grown out of riding fast but I need to try it again, just to be sure 😂 The VFR 800 would be on my wish list but I believe that the valve service is quite spicy expensive ? Sell your Himalayan,firstly because it's not getting out to play as much & secondly to pay a child minder,then you could get out on your VFR for longer periods! 🤪👍 Really though,they do grow up so fast & i have just the 1 son who was 18 this month & now I feel even older! 🤬😂✌️

I came across your channel whilst looking at Suzuki bandits. I’m 27 and I thought I’d met the “one” but she went travelling and we tried to make it work but it didn’t so we spilt up and about a week and half later I passed my MOD 2 test and I thought to myself this is probably pretty good timing I have the opportunity to get a bike and just ride it whenever I want and not have a gf asking me when I’m free or around. I do want a family but with the cost of living and house prices it’s a bit of a joke. Anyway back to the bike I’m still looking for my first bike still not quite sure what to get but I know that the older the bike the cheaper the insurance. I tried getting a quote on a z650 2021 plate and it’s was £1700 whereas a 1999 bandit was £850!

I totally understand the travel thing Adam.. like you, I have two kids..boy and a girl. Like you said, their childhood flies by.. my son will be 18 on Xmas eve this year and my daughter just turned 16. Don’t miss it mate, you’re making the right choice..then eventually, like me, you’ll get to a point where you think it’s probably ok to go missing for a couple of days. It’s been so long coming, but I’m planning a two day trip and camping for next year. I think as the next few years roll on, hopefully it’ll become something I can do more and more often 🤞….my son is already talking about moving into Uni digs in a year or so…I’m sure he was only born a couple of years back, what happened there lol. Least you’ve got age on your side, I was 34 when we had our first kid.. we’d already been together like 12 years by that point..if only we’d done the kids thing like 5 years earlier 😂

I have had 3 vfrs exactly the same as yours. Now buying a new monkey bike as there fun, slow yes, but very good fun. I would love another vfr the same as a second bike to go slightly faster. One day I will as there fantastic bikes.

My dad used to say "you've always got to have something for you son", you realise as you get older that time is the thing you actually want more of and can't, you just have to try and strike that balance and at times that means doing what you need rather than what other people need. Sounds selfish, but sometimes you have to be.

Sounds like you got your priorities right mate, family first. Hey... 99% of the time in my vids I am just riding to my local biker cafe... so you don't need to justify your ride locations mate 🙂

The thing about the Himalayan is that it's a bike that can't be rushed so if you need to get anywhere quickly it's very annoying, so take the VFR, but if, like today, I'm in no hurry and want to enjoy the countryside then the Himalayan is best with that lovely thumping single beneath me. I could take my 90 bhp Honda or 77 bhp Suzuki Bandit, but on this beautiful summer day the Royal Enfield is my first choice. It has its little quirks and is definitely slow, but for me that's its charm because during the 1950s and '60s 24 bhp motorcycles were quite common. Just take a look at the 1954 power output of an original Royal Enfield bullet 350 and imagine that you've travelled back in time when riding the Himalayan. It's a time machine and it looks like it.

I love the Himalayan in town and green laning, but it's the Kawasaki Z1000SX for the fun road riding, really. Getting Frankie ready for the France trip now, put a new battery in it because the old one was already 6 years, changing the oil and brake fluid next, and lubing the clutch cable. Chain is adjusted and I've fitted the new Helite H-Moov air-vest/backpack which arrived last week. Never turn down s*xytim*. The bike never says no and it will always be there.
