Riding over 30mph with a visor open doesn't sound like a good plan anyway. The number of times I've had things ping off my visor that were heading towards my eyes makes me keep the visor down as much as possible.
I did almost 50 miles in the lanes with my visor up because it was incredibly foggy. I try not to though.
So it's a good helmet for everyone who doesn't usually expose their eyes to the dust from the road riding 40mph with a visor open. Thanks for the review. Looks like a helmet I have to take into consideration.
It's not the best helmet I've had, but I have no issues with it. My visor doesn't close perfectly. It leaves a little gap on one side. I'm not sure if that's a common problem.
Was about to say the same. What a joke of a 'review'. haha
@CopperRidesBikes It's not a review. It's first thoughts and first ride with it on. Thanks for watching though.
I used review for the title because it gets more views.
Awesome choice Adam & seen The Military Biker bought the same recently! 👍😎
My AGV whistles when the visor is open, but only when I've got the drop down sun specs down & I never open my helmet vents ever, just incase it screws with my sound! 🤣✌️
It's something that may annoy the rider, more than us lot watching! 😉👍
I found it through MakaJerycho. I think it's a downgrade from my scorpion exo carbon but you never know until you try
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs Mines will be an upgrade from my Scorpion Exo 510 Air, but being my first ever bike lid I've got an emotional attachment thing going on! 🤪👍
I'll be wearing mine come summer...Since I've still not got around to sugru-ing on a camera mount yet! 🤣👍
What you using on your newbie or do you always use removable strapped on type? 🤔
i was wondering if Sena does the 10b intercom that installs easily into the helmet? i like the look. little seampunk, retro and madmax all in one.
It's handy having an intercom installed into the helmet. It has holes cut out for the earpieces. It's a bit steampunk. Looks pretty cool.
The HJC Smart 10B which is based on the Sena is compatible, as well as the 20B.
@@Seymour_Cox thanks for giving a better answer than I could 😆
Is a good looking helmet but is very annoying not being able to ride with the visor open. I have one and i hate it. I never wear. If you find a solution for the whistle please share it
I only read 1 review about the whistle. I hoped it was a 1 off but I was wrong. I'll let you know if I find a way to stop it
Look up the video " how to stop the whistling noise on your helmet" on you tube.
This guy uses velcro strips he sticks on top part of his visor.
Not sure why you'd want your visor up at 30 mph
You don't. I had to point it out though.
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs bro huh?? So it does something "bad" in a situation that should never happen irl..? Which ALL helmets would do in that situation? Are you being intentionally dense?
I saw that helmet in a local dealer. Can't say I'm a fan of the looks personally
I think it looks pretty cool but I understand your opinion. I'm finding the gloss to be a hassle. I'm always polishing it
True though, I only ever ride with the visor open in city riding where it's slow speed. I've the HJC C10, their affordable starter helmet rated ECE 22.06. When riding fast, I have the visor slightly open on the first stopping point to avoid fogging. Have you tested it that way with this helmet and does it still whistle? I'm looking at it as an upgrade and because I ride a classic inspired scrambler bike.
@8man_01 it will be cool with a classic scrambler. It's a decent helmet. Nothing special about it though. It doesn't whistle if its only slightly open.
Yup, it does come up on the recording!😊not a deal breaker though….
I heard it clearly when I watched the video back. It's a bit of a problem.
@@EpicAdamMotovlogsit didn’t stop me hearing you speaking clearly. I had fun today, got out at last to do some filming, and my GoPro went on strike. No footage today…..
@@TheNorfolkThunderbolt gutted. I hate it when that happens
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs ironically when I got home, my new Osmo Action 4 was delivered…..
How does the camera chin mount effect the airflow through the six front vents? I have this helmet & I'm looking at getting a chin mount (I hate sticking mounts to my helmets) but was wondering if the airflow is effected, also is there an increase in airflow from under the helmet seeing as the chin skirt will be altered by the mount straps.
The gripper mount I use is excellent. It very lighty brushes on my chin though. It will affect airflow but I don't notice it. It goes in the helmet, not over the guard. It doesn't affect air flow much.
I'll make a YT short showing it later.
What chin mount do you use & prices please, I'm looking at the Telsin mount@@EpicAdamMotovlogs
@@Slug-on-ABike I just published a YT short about it. Go to my profile and you'll see
how is the noise above 60mhp?
It's a pretty noisy helmet over 60 mph, but it doesn't whistle. It's not a huge distraction but I can clearly hear wind although it does sound muffled
No ACU sticker on it?
I think it's ECE 22.06
I'm terrible at selecting good helmets that fit and are quite.
I bet you go through a few too 😆
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs Good point.
Problems with the HJC v10 helmet:
1…. Whistle with the visor up
2… there is absolutely NO airflow through the helmet
3… the visor lock down mechanism is so bad…. Almost impossible to use with gloves on
My visor does steam up with the pinlock insert. Maybe that's the lack of airflow.
I can only open the visor with my left hand so I can reach the locking mechanism.
I will make another review on this helmet at some point
Enjoy the bugs. #freemeal
My helmet does that at 30mph because the wind goes through the gap between the visor and the helmet. I quite like it, it makes me feel like I'm going fast 😂
It makes me feel like a kettle
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs We're all guilty of having steam coming out our ears occasionally though mate, usually caused by car folk with painted on eyes! 🤣👍
😂😂👍👌
Sounds really good. No point sitting in the garage polishing your helmet.
My new helmet is glossy. I'll probably be rubbing it all the time
Tht's what Cabin Maids are for 😬
@@moonshinepz 😆
My HJC i70 does the same.
It is also REALLY loud on the lower side of the sides, between the helmet and my shoulder.
My theory is that they test HJC helmets on sportsbikes, because as soon as I tilt my head forward or lean as if on a sportsbike, all the noise stops.
I guess they are not for the upright riding position after all.
So you're saying I have to buy a sports bike? OK.
@@EpicAdamMotovlogsyeah you are right. go buy one.
I bought a vfr800 😆
Nice helmet! Great choice, quite distinctive and it looks great! Will be interesting to see how it goes on the motorway and over time 🎉
Yes. I hope I wear into it. Although it's a large, it's 1cm smaller than my previous helmet
Love the look of that lid, sod the whistling how often are you gonna be riding with the visor up?🤷🏼♂️ I wish I was in the market for a new lid as I reckon I’d go for one.😎👍🏻👍🏻
I don't ride at 40mph with the visor up. Overall, it's a decent helmet. I just want wearing in period to hurry up.
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs honestly I don’t now anyone who does ride at 40mph with the visor up, you’d have an eye full of something unpleasant before long if you did, lid looks cool AF thought, I had to go and look at colours and prices after watching the vid!😬🤦🏼♂️
Shark sqwal i3 also has the whistle and on top of that leaks rain through the top vent under heavy rain so please save your cash and don't buy it its horrendous.
That sounds awful. If I had to rate the v10, I'll give it a 7. The thing that bugs me the most is how you open the visor.
I think you were wearing that when I saw you the other day. Other reviewers are correct, it’s got a whistle.
I ride loads with my visor open above 30. But I’m crazy like that.
I didn't see you. I ride with my visor open a lot, but I think that's about to change. We must meet again soon.
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs I was in Braunton Services. Yes, we need a catch up soon.
Islık sesi, motosikletinden kaynaklanmıyor. Kaskından kaynaklanıyor, çünkü bende de aynı sorun var ama hızlı gittiğin zaman oluyor. vizörü kapattığında, sesin yankı yapıyor mu?
Yes, my voice echos. I think I'll get a different helmet soon
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs This is my first time riding a motorcycle and I don't know if it's normal for the sound to echo. Is this normal?
@kutupyildizi86 it's normal but this helmet makes it louder than others
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs Thanks man
A great shop to buy bike kit from indeedy! 🙂
That is a mega light helmet mate and for non vloggers looks great without the camera mounted too. I like that it has a decent lip for lifting the visor.
Great shop. Sam ordered it especially for me and gave me a free t-shirt & gripper mount. You can see I tried having the camera lower, I'll put it where it usually is for the next video
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs Higher will probably work better on that bike, so it can see over the screen a bit better 🙂
@HippoDrones yep, I'll put it back where it usually is next but but I'll keep it low for a future bike 😉
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs Noiceeee, any hints?
How you getting on with the helmet now mate?@@EpicAdamMotovlogs
Got recently v10 - £186 and v60 - £164, both in gray from Motocard. They always have some sales and promotions. Helmets shipped from EU to UK are exempt from any import duties. Both are grate Helmets, especially for the price I paid.
Nice one. I paid a little bit more to support a friends business. Mine still feels a bit uncomfortable but hopefully I'll wear it in. Thanks for watching.
I am looking to get one but cant decide which to get for the summer mainly short trips, does the v60 whistle like the v10 because the v60 doesnt have an visor at all. Thanks in advance!
@@tiku I was advised not to get the v60, I don't know why. The best helmet I have ever had is the scorpion exo-1400 carbon
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs The scorpion is a great helmet that I previously tested but I am looking to get an airy helmet to ride in the summer with my vespa scooter so going for an racing helmet might be overkill. As I said the reason I am not sure which to get between the two is the ventilation on the v10 with the visor down compared to the v60 having a drop down tinted visor while having the airflow. Do you remember if they said something abt the sound?
where did you get the V10 for £186?
Hej Adam, great video!
- I've bought the same helmet, and I'm getting the same noise issues with the visor open. However if I close the visor, the helmet fogs up very fast! are you using the included pinlock to avoid this?
I use the pinlock and it does fog up in certain weather conditions. I also noticed the visor doesn't always close properly.
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs I plan on buying one of the tinted visors and use the included pinlock with that. I'll bring the clear visor on trips where I risk driving at night time.
- I've heard that removing the chin curtain might help with the fogging and c02 levels inside the lid when closed.
- As for the closing I've noticed that as well, sometimes it hasn't locked in place when closed.
@Warmandk I think the scorpion exo-1400 is the best value for money helmet and it comes with a tinted visor and clear visor
@@EpicAdamMotovlogs I've already bought the V10 and I like the style of that more than the Scorpion you're refering to. But thanks for the pointers.
@@Warmandk it is a nice style. I'm getting the tinted visor but might go back to the scorpion in the future
