    Do you have scientific evidence about the MMC and the 4 hour stat you said? Most scientific articles I’ve read say it can start around 90 mins.

    Your recipes are a godsend for me. I am elderly and suffer from severe autoimmune diseases and IBS that has all hit me hard in the last 5 years. I still don't know what I can and can't eat, and when I eat the wrong foods, I get extremely ill. Thank you for sharing.

    My IBS has been really bad for months and I just started the low FODMAP diet a couple days ago, but it doesn't seem to be helping much yet. I'm wondering if I start with a 24 to 48 hour fast to help rest my stomach and then start the low FODMAP diet. Do you think that would work?

      Hello. Yes! A 24-48 hour fast can be a great way to kick start the digestive healing! If you decide to fast, make sure to take it easy and stay hydrated. If you feel faint at all you can add the juice of 1 lemon and 1 tsp sea salt to 32 oz of water - that should help. When you come out of your fast make sure you transition to back to solid foods by consuming liquids first. Try my bone broth recipe and then my carrot ginger soup. Also, remember that it’s important to not consume chemicals and preservatives that are in processed foods in addition to fodmaps because they also irritate the gut and cause digestive issues.     You are too overly critical of her. As a person recently diagnosed with UC an IBS disorder, it’s difficult to make this transition. All of us don’t have your willpower to stop all bad things cold turkey. I can completely relate to Abby as a person with children trying to make this switch while also catering to my children and busy work schedule. Not sure if you have kiddos and a demanding career but, you’re coming across very judgmental and as a self-righteous low FODMAP guru. It’s not a good look Grit and Groceries. You can give a review without being overly critical.

    I love how authentic you are!! For the perfectly shaped cookie, while still hot, use a large. Mason jar metal lid to gently reshape the cookie to the perfect round. Careful not to burn yourself while rotating the lid around the cookie. I can’t wait to try this recipe. Soon you will be making this recipe a lot for your little one. Do you think you could portion out the raw cookie dough, freeze on the cookie sheets and move to a freezer bag for future use? I like to do this so I can bake just a couple cookies at a time with my granddaughter.

    Great video. I stopped snacking and eat 2 meals and a protein smoothie at breakfast. The time between meals helps my digestion immensely…. And the addition of warm tea after eating and hydration throughout the day. Protein, fats and moderate amounts cooked greens. ❤

    I feel like you don’t realize how many people start the low fodmap diet and stick in the elimination phase for yearsssss and it’s wrecked their gut biome.

      I do realize this. It happened to my sister, which is why I always say in my videos that you HAVE TO do your reintroductions.

    PSA: consuming infused oils for up to 3 weeks after is risky and while you'll probably be ok, the actual USDA recommendation for refrigerated infused oils is that they should be consumed within a week due to risk of botulism. The low-acid, oxygen-free environment of oil favors the growth of botulism spores and other bacteria introduced by garlic/onion/herb basically any plant matter. Botulism spores are tough and can survive much higher temps than the <1hr of low-heat simmering these recipes call for. Consume at your own risk folks. It requires literally 2 minutes of effort so I would strongly suggest to just make a fresh batch every week.

      I’m just sharing what I do and what works for me. I’ve been doing this for about 6 years and have never gotten sick, but yes people have judge things for themselves and make their own choices.

    I dont understand how you can have 5-6 hours wating before another meal, I get hungry really really fast, if I wait 3 hours I really die :O
